logo_bmw My Take: If we are talking straight up lease rates, then the X6 5.0i has the best combination of money factor and residual for all Xs. To answer Don’s question, the MF isn’t 0.00121. As a matter of fact, in order to get the base rate of 0.00175, you have to have fantastic credit AND put a security deposit of $700. By the way, where did you get 0.00121 from? Finance APR? FYI, APR offers are for purchases, not leases, so they don’t translate to the same thing. $2500 + $1750 off MSRP is probably doable thought. You are still looking at $900 payments after taxes with just inception fees. You will need to drop a whopping $4000-$5000 down in order to bring down the payments to the advertised, $699+tax BMWUSA.com is promoting.

logo_bmw My Take: I would probably recommend taking a pass the X3 this month. The X5 isn’t too bad since the residual is high and the money factor is lower than the X3 and the X6, so that may not be a bad lease with some MSDs. The same goes for the X6, which has an even higher residual value than the X5. By the way, there is a $1750 loyalty cash rebate on the X5, so if you qualify, take advantage of it. 2.9% financing for up to 60 month is also being offered right now. Same thing going on with the X6. Not too bad I guess, but I prefer MB’s financing this month.

09 BMW X3, X5, X6 Lease Rates – April 2009

logo_bmw My Take: Surprisingly enough, the X6 5.0 (improved from last month) and the X5 4.8i (unchanged from last month) have the best lease rates of all the X-Series “Sport Activity” vehicles. Sure, they have a hefty price tag for most people, but if you were shopping around for one, you already knew that. I actually really dig the looks of the X6, love the higher stance, coupe lines and a beefy 5.0 liter engine. This month is a good month for the X6 5.0 (not so much the 3.5 model though). Remember that for most BMWs, the 36-month term is the sweet spot since it has the best residual/term/money factor combination. BMWFS is also offering 2.9% financing for up 60 months on both models, but no customer/dealer cash.

logo_bmw My Take: The best lease on the X-Series SUVs this month is probably the gasoline-powered X5s. The other X-models suffer from either low residual, high money factor or both. There is $1750 customer cash available on the X5 3.0i and 2.9% financing for up to 60 months. You should be able to combine the two, but make sure to double check with your dealer.

BMW Revises Lease Rates for February 2009

My Take: In an unusual move. BMW revised some of their lease rates for February. I haven’t really gotten around to look through everything in detail, but at first glance, the 3-series seems to have gotten hit with a higher money factor. OUCH! This is rather unexpected since most lease rates change from month to month, not twice in a month. This does put a damper on the hopes that the next few months will bring better rates. Hopefully some of you were able to jump in on the lower rates.

Anyway, my laptop died tonight, so I will not be able to address any questions you may have until tomorrow night or Friday.

09 BMW X-Series Lease Rates for February 2009

My Take: I am not recommending the X6 as a potential lease. However, compared to previous months, I think BMW has “fluffled” the residual values and lowered the money factors to make this lease more affordable. I would personally opt for the X5 4.8i over the X6 3.5i considering you get a more potent engine and you’ll save about $100 a month on a similarly equipped model. Stay far and away from the X3, they really jacked the residual and money factors on the X3s this year. Last year they were great leases, just look at 2008 THE LIST and you’ll see what I mean.

UPDATE: The X3 seems to be leasing better on the 2008 model, so if you are looking for the X3, check out the 2008 model rates:

My Take: BMW’s December lease rates leave a lot to be desired if you ask me. I’ve been wait for the 1-series’ money factor to drop a little bit since it is such an “intriguing” little ride. Yes, it’s ugly, but it’s hella fast (135i). With a residual value of 68% for 24 months, it would be nice to get a nice .001 discount off the current MF to make this ride a “must lease” on my list. The 3-series is looking pretty much like last month, same goes for the 5-series. X3 looks promising with it’s high residual and relatively “low” money factor. The 6-series and X5 is “okay”, while the “worst lease of the month” title goes to the X6 and the M-models. Not unexpected since they are more of a “niche” model than anything else.

My Take: Finally! The comprehensive list of 09 BMW lease rates is out! The 1-series practically remains unchanged, but BMWFS seems to have cut the money factors a bit on the 3-series, with the residual values remaining unchanged. That good news for those looking to get into a the 3-series. The 1-series is worth a look still due to it’s unusually high residual value. Other notable models include the 528i and the X5. Please keep in mind that BMW dealers seem to be oblivious to the fact that there is a recession going on, so they won’t exactly lease you the car for “dirt cheap”. If you were hoping for that, you will be sorely disappointed. Now, if you are looking to buy, there is 0.9% financing available on select 09 models so it may be worth considering a purchase.
