logo_acura My Take: I guess I did have another lease rate before my trip! LOL Anyway, I had to do some “guesstimating” on the 24 month residuals, but the 36 month numbers should be right in line with what you are seeing at the dealers (hopefully). Remember, if you are getting different results from your local dealer, be sure to post them here for the rest of us. The residual values have dropped on the TL in May so AHFC dropped the money factors a bit. Payments should practically stay the same. Regarding pricing, I would not go beyond invoice. Period. If anything, I would try going $500-$1000 below, depending on your market. But this is just my opinion as a consumer. Remember, if you need help analyzing deals, I will need ALL of the information pertaining to the lease, not just MSRP, down payment and monthly payment.

logo_acura My Take: Nothing new is going on with the TSX and the TL this month. The rates are exactly the same as March. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!! Oh well, at lease invoice price should be attainable in most markets with decent competition. I’m not seeing any cash rebates or special financing of any kind for either ride, so you better put that negotiating hat on because it’s going to take some extra effort on your part to get a good deal.

logo_acura My Take: Good New! The TSX payments dropped a little due to the lower money factor. Also, don’t forget the $750 dealer cash available on this car. The TL also got a money factor reduction, but also get dinged on the residual (1-2% on the 36+ month terms). Basically the 24-month lease got cheaper, but the 36-month ones are a few dollars more. Nothing astronomical, but worth noting. You do get $1000 dealer cash on the TL, so be sure to factor that into your negotiations.

My Take: As unexciting as this may sound to you, Acura has not change their lease rates for February 2009. It doesn’t mean this car is a bad lease of course, but it certainly isn’t a DEAL either. I would be great if AHFC would cut the money factor in half. That should help move these cars. By the way, these rates will run through March. I get this feeling March is going to be a nice month for this car, just like it was last year for the 08 TL.

09 Acura TL Lease Rates for January 2009

My Take: In case you weren’t paying attention in the past couple of months, the 2009 TL now starts at a whopping $35.7k after delivery fees. That’s a markup of about $1300 from the outgoing model. Sick, isn’t it? Anyway, the residual are still strong on the TL, that’s the good news. The not so great news is that the money factor is still high, hitting you at around 6% APR. TMV suggest around $500 over invoice pricing, so thats not too bad. There’s also $500 dealer cash available, so be sure to have your dealer share that with you.

09 Acura TL and TSX Lease Rates for December 2008

My Take: Acura has improved their 2009 TL lease but that’s not the case on the TSX. You will see a significant drop on the monthly payments from Nov to Dec ($40-$50) due to the lower money factor. Is invoice price a reasonable sale price? I’m inclined to say yes on both the TL and the TSX. Personally, this is around what I feel the TL should lease for ($350-$400 range). As for the TSX? Nothing’s really changed other than the fact that you can negotiate a lower sale price. There is financing for 0% for up to 36 months and 2.9% for up to 60 months.

November 2008 Lease Rates for 09 Acura TSX and TL

My Take: The residual values are strong on the 09 TSX and TL, but the money factor is still the deal-killer here. Way too high in my opinion. I can’t justify leasing a sub-$30k car for $400+ per month after taxes. That’s just too much. I won’t even get into the payments on the TL, ridiculous. I think something has got to give between now and sometime early next year. The money factors should drop more. I think the base TSX leasing around $350 after taxes (with inception due at signing) is reasonable, while the TL base should be somewhere in the low $400s with tax and inception fees due at signing. That would ideal.

October 2008 Lease Rate for 08/09 Acura TL

My Take: The new 09 Acura TL is finally out and it’s looking alright, from a leasing standpoint. The residual value is high, the money factor is also kind of high, but that’s Honda’s standard rate, so it’s not TOO bad. Check out MBs lease rates and you’ll see what I mean. The price range for the TL has gone up considerably, with the base model starting at around $35k. I don’t recommend leasing this car since I’m pretty sure invoice price will be hard to come by. If you do, please leave a comment, inquring minds want to know. For those shopping for an 08 model, there’s about $3500 worth of dealer cash, so that should help offselt the less than desirable residual value and money factors.

UPDATE: I have updated the lease rates for the month. The 24mo lease seems to be a horrible lease right now. That seems to be the trend for most cars nowadays thanks to the financial crisis, it seems short-term leases aren’t as attractive. You may want to consider the 48mo lease in this case. The MF drops and the residual holds steady at 54%, which is better than most 36mo leases.
