2011 Lexus Lease Rates – June 2011

Lexus has not changed the residual value of their IS250 since March! The money factor has also gone down a little bit. Normally, this is a good thing. However, the sale prices for all things Lexus have shot up significantly, making the lease more expensive. Based on the calculation below, the price difference between a March lease of the IS250 vs the June lease is about $45 or $1620. Pretty hefty huh?

My wife has recently made her desire for a IS250 (as her next lease) known, so I am really hoping numbers start improving over the next year or so. Lucky for us, her lease does not end until Feb 2013, which gives us a year and a half to see how Toyota handles their recovery process. At the moment, I am suspecting that her Jetta’s payoff is probably around the same as it’s wholesale value since her Jetta is pretty rare. I’m hoping there is at least $1000 worth of positive equity by the time she decides to trade it in.

2011 Lexus Lease Rates – March 2011

Surprisingly enough, the majority of the Lexus lineup renamed the same as February (that’s three consecutive months with same rates!). However, there are exception. The GS350 AWD had 1% drop in residual and the HS got a drop in MF (residual stayed the same). Lastly the RX350 gets a drop in money factor (same residual). Not a bad month for Lexus (just look at the IS250, cheap!). Overall, you should enjoy about the same payments as last month for most models and slightly less for others (HS and RX). Lower prices should also make March a better month than February.

A special note regarding when to buy/lease. It has been statistically proven that buying/leasing towards then end of a month is generally cheaper than at the beginning. Therefore, if you can afford to wait until the end of each month, do so. You could be saving hundreds just by being a little bit more patient.

2011 Lexus Lease Rates – February 2011

Different month, same old lease rates. That is what the numbers look like this month for Lexus. Not the strongest leasing month, but I think the IS250 is a borderline good deal here due to a slightly lower sale price than anticipated. This allows the IS to squeak into the GOOD DEAL territory, which generally consists of rides with a RWG rating of 90 to 99.
