09 Honda Pilot Lease Rates for December 2008

  At Invoice At MSRP
Make/Model Invoice MSRP 24-month 36-month 24-month 36-month
09 Honda Pilot Touring 2WD $33,994 $37,465 N/A $502 N/A $602
09 Honda Pilot EX-L AWD $32,548 $35,865 N/A $471 N/A $567

My Take: The Pilot is one UGLY SUV. I’m a believer in driving something that not only drives well, but also makes you look good riding it it. This car fails miserably in that department. Despite that fact, this is still a very good family hauler and it’s very well appointed, like all Hondas/Acuras are. The lease looks pretty decent on the 36mo/15k term at invoice. Go with the 12k lease and you will see your payments drop some more. Remember that RES and Navi models tend to have lower residual values, so if you opt for that, make sure you aren’t paying more (over 36 months) than buying a portable Navi or RES which you get to keep AFTER your lease is over.

NOTE: Estimates do assuming the following:

  • Inception fees (1st month payment, DMV, doc fee, bank fee, tire tax and possible security deposit) will be paid at signing.
  • Local Taxes not included.
  • 24-month/15k and 36-month/15k terms.
  • All cars are stock, without any options.

November 2008 Lease Rate for 09 Honda Pilot

My Take: There aren’t cash rebates for the Pilot this month, but you can get special financing at 3.9% for 60 months. I would lease personally since the interest rate is lower. If you want to lease the EX, I think the sweet spot would be a 36 month/12k mile term. Assuming you can get it at invoice, your payments should hover around $386 + tax with inception fees due at signing. Thats not bad for $30k dollar SUV that sits 6-8 people.

September 2008 Lease Rate for 09 Honda Pilot

My Take: The rates for the 09 Pilot are so-so. Not much you can do about the residual, but the MF could be better. It is certainly better than Honda’s standard .00270 rate. Watch out for the higher end models. The residuals drop very quickly when you opt for a model with RES. My advice? Get a portal entertainment system for the kids. It’ll be cheaper.

August 2008 Lease Rate for 09 Honda Pilot

My Take: The 2009 Honda Pilot isn’t exactly the best lease right now. However, the residual is high enough to help counter the high MF. Calling this month’s rates a “deal” would be a stretch, though. I’m not a big fan of the current generation Pilot. It’s just soooo ugly. I’m a very “design conscious” person and the 09 is not doing it for me in that department.

No options to be had here. TMV suggests the Pilot goes for about $100 over MSRP. Really? LOL. If that’s the case, no thanks. Keep in mind that the LX model is bone stock too. That’s why its this cheap. I suspect the EX & Touring models’ monthly payments will in the $500 due to the higher price tags and lower residuals.

My Take: As you can see, Honda isn’t exactly offering any incentives to lease the 08 Pilot anymore. Buying seems to be the ongoing theme this month. Low APR financing is making its way in from pretty much every manufacturer for all 08 models. You just might do a bit better leasing a 09 Pilot than an 08 Pilot.

Honda Nationwide Lease Deals. Expires 4/30/08

I make it a morning ritual to visit all the car websites I have bookmarked to see what’s going on in the out automotive world. In this case, Autonation is reminding us about the Honda Spring Sales Event, you know, those commercials with the guy that pulls up his truck at a wedding, or while two people are camping, etc…So I quickly browse through the list of “incentives” for the whole entire Honda line up. Some look promising, others not so much. I’ll briefly mention the ones I think are worth “looking” into. Keep a couple of things in mind though, read the fine print. You CAN get better rates, so you CAN get a better deal than advertised. I don’t have the “connections” with Honda dealers, so I won’t be able to provide you with MFs. However, the residuals are fairly easy to figure out when you read the fine print.

2008 Ridgeline RTX Featured Special Lease

Based on these “general” incentives, I would say that if you can keep the monthly payment the same and keep the drive-off at or below $999, you got yourself a fairly decent deal. Go below that then maybe you should be writing my blog. Haahaa.
