09 Nissan Altima Lease Rates for January 2009

My Take: There is a $1500 cash rebate for the Altima right now, which should really help you lower your lease payments. The residual values are still fairly high and the money factor seems to have been lowered somewhat. This is not a bad month to lease the Altima 2.5 S. My calculations do not factor in the cash rebate, so you should expect even lower monthly payments for a base model Altima S. Alternatively, you can add about $1500 worth in upgrades and you should come pretty close to my estimates. Remember to stay away from the 24-month and and 48-month leases. I probably don’t need to tell you why. Also, there shouldn’t be any reason why you should be paying MSRP right now, unless of course, you like your dealer and want to see them make a some money, I am sure they will be quite grateful.

09 Nissan Murano Lease Rate for January 2009

My Take: The Murano looks like a potential lease this month since there’s some lease support available of it. The residual value looks somewhat inflated (a good thing) and the money factor, despite being reduced, is still hovering around the 3.7% APR range. Not bad, not great. The good news is that TMV suggest the Murano S AWD going for about $47 over invoice plus you get a nice $500 cash rebate to go with it. Personally, I think invoice plus the $500 cash rebate is VERY doable. The calculations below do not reflect the $500 rebate, so you can probably do better.

Special Auto Deals for Costco Members!

Every morning, I get an email from Costco pitching their latest and greatest deals. This morning, I noticed that there were some “specials” on their Automotive site. I once leased a car using AAA and Costco (I have them both) membership, but I didn’t really seen any major advantages (mainly because I didn’t bother to ask what sort of discounts I would get). This time around however, if you head over to Costco’s Auto website, you can see all of the promotions going on.

Costco Auto Special Promotions

Couple things stand out here:

Purchase a new Volvo XC90, XC70 or V70 through the Costco Auto Program between November 13, 2008, and January 5, 2009, to receive:

* $1,000 Off Volvo’s employee price
* $750 holiday gift card from Volvo1
* All available customer rebates and dealer incentives
* $500 Costco Cash Card for completing a Costco Auto Program Survey

That’s a lot of savings since you get $1000 off the employee pricing + rebates + gift card + costco cash. Add on whatever discounts the dealer gives you and you simply can’t over look this deal if you are shopping for a new family hauler that’s one of the safest according to the IIHS (XC90).

Then there is 0% financing for Infiniti, Toyota, Nissan models. Nothing out of the norm here since I’ve seen the commercials on TV for quite some time.

GM is having a Red Tag sale…ho-hummm…

Lastly, you can get employee pricing + rebates on most 2008/2009 Ford models.

November 2008 Lease Rate for 09 Nissan Maxima

My Take: There was a slight drop in the money factor on the SV and S model this month. The SV model retained the same residual from October, while the S model dropped by 1%. This makes the payments on the S model about the same as last month, while the SV gets a slight discount. I still feel that the money factor is too high (6.192% APR) considering how low interest rates are nowadays. If you can’t wait, this month is certainly better than the last, however, I feel that there is still some room to drop.

November 2008 Lease Rates for 09 Subaru Forrester, Toyota Corolla and Nissan Altima

My Take: Here are three decent leases for the month for those who are budget conscious. The Forrester is looking pretty good with a starting lease of $301 and up (at invoice). One drawback is that Subaru has a VERY healthy options list which means it will quickly add up. Just make sure you get what you need and don’t get carried away. The dealer could contribute $700 towards your lease (since they are doing it as part of a special lease program). The Corolla is dirty cheap in my opinion since it’s really a “budget” car. Much cheaper to lease than a Mazda3 I think, but much less exciting to drive too. The Altima is the beefier of the group so it has a steeper price tag. Even so, there’s $750 in rebates available which should drive down the costs a bit. Again, all these estimates are based on stock models, so the more options you add, the pricier it gets. The residual and money factors look pretty good for 36-month leases so they are worth a look before the end of the month.

November 2008 Lease Rate for 09 Nissan GT-R

My Take: Ever wonder how much it would cost you to lease a Nissan GT-R? Wonder no more! For my amusing lease of the day, I decided to pop in a few numbers into the calculator and see what we would be looking at. I did this back in August for the Audi R8 and these are the numbers I got:

24mo Payment: $2693 at invoice, $3098 at MSRP
36mo Payment: $2188 at invoice, $2467 at MSRP

Now for the GT-R:

24mo Payment: $1096 at invoice, $1308 at MSRP
36mo Payment: $1089 at invoice, $1236 at MSRP

Looks pretty good to me! The problem is, you can’t get a GT-R at invoice or at MSRP for that matter. TMV suggests $10,000 markup and I’m inclined to believe that its more like 20k. I can probably lease TWO GT-Rs for the price of one R8.

October 2008 Lease Rates for 08/09 Nissan Altima

My Take: There are two 09 models of the Nissan Altima that have decent rates while three of the 08s look like they are being clearanced. The sweet spot on the 08s and 09s seem to be the 36mo lease, but the 08s 24-month lease also looks very good. Don’t forget to factor in the $500 customer cash on the 2009 models, and if you are a recent or soon to be graduate, you get another $500. The $500 guaduate cash is also available on the 2008 models, but the best part seems to be the $1250 customer cash that’s also there for the taking.

October 2008 Lease Rate for 09 Nissan Maxima

My Take: These rates are actually as of Sept 30th, since Tarry posted them a bit late. I’ll keep an eye out for the new numbers in case they pop up. In the meantime, feel free use this as “reference”. There isn’t any lease support anyway, so the lease should get cheaper over time.

UPDATE: The rates have indeed stayed the same as last month for the Maxima. Nothing to cheer about really. Maybe next month they’ll drop the MF a bit and keep the residual the same. That would be a good way to get these rides moving.
