09 Mercedes Benz CLK, CLS, CL Lease Rates – June 2009

logo_benzMy Take: For those wanting a coupe, the CLK will be discontinued in favor of the E-Class sedan and coupe. Right now, it’s a VERY good time to get into a CLK350 or CLK550. The money factor is practically non-existent so all your payments are going straight towards the car’s value and taxes. Remember DrJ and Getpaid? They both got CLKs and they got real sweet deals. Check out April’s comments from DrJ to get an idea about the pricing on the CLKs. Unofficially, I can tell you this…my estimates are $716 per month at invoice, over 48 months/15k per year. There is $6000 dealer cash on this ride…$27 per month = per $1000 borrowed. That’s $162 per month off if you do the math, more if you tack on taxes.

I’m not going to comment too much on the CLS and CL. Suffice to say, the CL is not worth talking about and the CLS550 is actually a decent lease, not great, but acceptable.

09 Mercedes Benz C-Class Lease Rates – June 2009

logo_benzMy Take: Who wants a C350? You DO! Forget the C300s, there is $2000 marketing cash on the C350s until 6/30 and the money factor/residuals are STILL the same. I was hammering about in February, and like a broken record, I will tell you again…GET THE C350! To encourage you to get into the C350, I will refuse to answer any C300 questions for the remainder of the month! If you are in So Cal, hit up Aaron over at Dealerplace and tell him you want the car at $2000 under invoice. That’s it. Expect to pay around $2k at drive-off and your payments should be under $500 if stick to 36/48 months. Just read the comments in the forums or in last month’s C-Class post to get an idea as to what others have found. Now, if only they would drop the MF on the C63, that would make me REALLY happy.

09 Mercedes Benz ML, R Lease Rates – May 2009

logo_benzMy Take: Alright everyone, this is the last set of lease rates I have for now. I will in the Bay Area this weekend so my ability respond to your questions will be limited. I will post more rates if any of them show up between now and Friday, but until then, I hope what we currently have will hold you guys over until I return.

Before I leave for the long weekend, I want to leave you all with a few thoughts for the month of May. Mercedes Benz is having some SERIOUSLY attractive leases right now. I have been hammering about the C350 (over the C300) for about 3 months now and I will continue to do so until I see the numbers get worse. I would get a C350 myself if I could get someone to assume my lease on the G37, but is unlikely to happen any time soon. I don’t know how much longer MB Financial will keep things up, so in on it while the getting is good. Also look into the CLK since it will be discontinued; Probably due to the fact that the E-Class will also come in coupe form. The 2010 E-Class is currently being unveiled from dealership to dealership across the US. As a matter of fact, they are unveiling it tomorrow night at the Mercedes Benz of Long Beach from 5pm to 8pm. If you are in the area, stop by and check it out. I will try to make if I can find the time. If you go, be sure to chat with our Dealerplace contact, Aaron McCroskey. He’s a good guy and will answer all your questions regarding MB cars. If you in the market for a BMW and you are also in So Cal, be sure to speak with Dave Persaud, he’s a good guy too. Lastly, Michael Stewart is the guy for all Lexus shoppers in El Paso, Texas and surrounding areas. Very informative and always willing to help. Whether you email or call, I am positive they will offer you great service. I’m also working on a couple internet sales guys from Infiniti so I will keep you posted on those.

Now, as for the MLs and the R. Stick with the ML350 4WD since it has the best money factor. You could go with the ML320, but there just aren’t many of those to choose from on most lots. Always make sure you are prepared before talking to your dealer. Have a payment range in mind, a sale price in mind and inquire about all inception fees. If you come prepared, you will make it easier on the dealer as well since they don’t have to go back and forth with you.

09 Mercedes Benz G, GL Lease Rates – May 2009

logo_benzMy Take: The GL is currently a better lease than the G. Sure, they are both slightly different rides which cater to different crowds, but they are both SUVs which server similar functions. I think the GL450 is probably a good balance of price, residual and money factor compared to the other two trims.

09 Mercedes Benz S, SL Lease Rates – May 2009

logo_benzMy Take: The only car on this list that has a nice combination of residuals and money factor is the SL550. Problem is, it isn’t THAT nice. The money factor is low, which is nice. Unfortunately, the residual is a bit lower than I would personally like. You could argue that this is a good “lease-to-buy” candidate, though.

09 Mercedes Benz SLK300 – May 2009

logo_benzMy Take: Check out the 0.00007 money factor on the SLK300. Not bad huh? Residual is kinda low, but the money factor more than makes up for it at 0.168% APR. How crazy is THAT, its practically free to borrow the money to lease this car! MB has been seriously aggressive at trying to move units recently, from the CLK, ML to the C, they all seem to be going below invoice in most metro areas with decent competition. Be sure to check out your local MB dealerships to see what they can do for you. For all you Southern California people, I am working on getting a Mercedes Benz dealer into the Dealerplace this weekend. I will more than likely pay him a visit this weekend (if he’s around) and talk cars with him. Stay tuned…

10 Mercedes Benz GLK Lease Rates – May 2009

logo_benzMy Take: I’ve been kind of curious as to what the payment ranges would be for the 2010 GLK-Class. Seems like a lot of the european luxury brands are jumping on the compact crossover bandwagon, so I thought that it would be nice to know what kind of numbers we’d be looking at here. As you can see just by looking at the rates, the money factor is not very friendly this month. In contrast, the purchase financing rates are superb! 0.9% financing for up to 66 months! I would probably recommend a BUY instead of a lease on the GLK for this month. If the lease rates drop below the 0.9%, then I will probably change my mind. I don’t see any cash rebates yet, but I certainly would not pay MSRP on anything out there because that’s just not the kind of market we are in right now.

09 Mercedes Benz E-Class Lease Rates – May 2009

logo_benzMy Take: It has become pretty clear that MB does not want their cars back within 24 months anymore, so their best leases are going for either 36 months or 48. For the E-Class this month, you’ll notice that the 24-month leases have gotten hit with a 2% residual value drop while the 36 and the 48 month rates have stayed pretty much the same as last month. You will also notice a slight increase in the money factor (.00014) for the 4matic sedans. My recommendation would be to do a “Lease-to-Buy” on the E350 Lux or Sport, no money down, just inception fees. Another thing is to keep in mind is that they have redesigned the E-Class for the 2010 model year, I don’t have to tell you what that means.
