Septermber 2008 Lease Rate for 08 Mazda CX-7

My Take: The CX-7’s rates are looking very promising this month. Be sure to inquire about possible MAC rebates that may be available to you. Invoice price should be attainable on this 08 model as well. TMV states otherwise, but I don’t put too much stock on TMV most of the time.

September 2008 Lease Rate for 09 Mazda 6

My Take: The 09 Mazda6 i Touring’s numbers look pretty decent this month. Could be lower on the MF department, but I can’t complain. Add a couple grand in options and you are still looking at sub-$400 payments with just inception fees. You can further cut back the monthly payments by opting for the 12k mile per year allowance. Avoid the 48 month lease, not only does the residual drop like 13%, but you are going to get hammered on the money factor.

September 2008 Lease Rate for 08 Mazda CX-9

My Take: I think the residual value on the CX9 has dropped to the point where not even the low MF can save it. If you check out The List, you’ll see how the CX9 Touring AWD comes in at just a tad above the IS350 in terms of monthly payments. Which would you rather have?

August 2008 Lease Rate for 09 Mazda6

My Take: Interesting note on the Mazda6…Did you know the 2009 model starts at about $590 less than the 2008 model? How weird is that? Specially since the 2009 is beefier/heftier cars. I guess it is a bit refreshing to see prices drop a bit instead of go up. Kudos to Mazda for that.

36mo Payment: $389 at invoice, $472 at MSRP

Expect to pay more in the MSRP range than invoice on this one. One thing that I find rather disturbing is how a 4cyl car that’s loaded like this costs $30k. If you have to pay MSRP for the car, I would suggest looking elsewhere, like the Camry, Accord and Altima. You can get the V6 versions for less.

August 2008 Lease Rate for 08 Mazda CX-9

My Take: 1.9% financing is available for up to 60 months and 0% for up to 36 months. With the 36 month lease MF being around 2.64%, leasing isn’t looking as good as buying right now. Specially if you need an SUV with 3rd row seating. I personally like the CX9 and if I needed something of that size, it would certainly be on my list. With enhanced financing, buying may be the better choice IF you need something of this size and gas prices aren’t a major factor in your decision.

My Take:
The two Mazda CXs have enjoyed fairly low money factors since May, so hopefully some of you jumped on them between May and June. I’m pretty sure the residuals will take a hit in July…as to the MF staying or lowering, that’s anyone’s guess. One thing about lease rates is that I can comment on them as they are, but it’s very hard to know what the manufacturers are planning for the up coming months. I can guess, but not even dealers know next month’s numbers until they are released.

June 2008 Lease Rate for Mazdaspeed3

Mazdaspeed3 GT 4dr Hatchback
24mo/12k – residual 63% – money factor .00304
36mo/12k – residual 53% – money factor .00319

My Take: As much fun as a Mazdaspeed3 would be to drive. The lease rates and residual values seem to be as bad as can be. There are better options out there, but if you have to have this car. Maybe wait until next month to see if Mazda American Credit will introduce better money factors. These are “limited edition” rides, so there is a chance the numbers won’t look better. Hope you’re not in a hurry.

2007 & 2008 Lease Programs and Incentives from Mazda

While poking around the web to find what type of lease cash incentives Mazda is throwing around these days (I really trying to confirm the $700 rebate my dealer threw at me last week) I came upon this page. Word of caution, these leases are based on MSRP. So the drive-off seems rather high. However, if you are able to get the drive-off waived (should be able to get most, if not all of that waived), you are looking at a pretty darn good lease.

Here are a few of the lease incentives going on:

2008 CX-9 Sport FWD
$329/Month, 24-Month Lease, $3,424 due at Lease Signing after $1,300 MAC lease cash back.

2008 CX-7 Sport FWD
$229/Month, 24-Month Lease, $2,824 due at Lease Signing after $1,000 MAC lease cash back.

2008 MAZDA3 i Sport 4-Door AT
$179/Month, 24-Month Lease, $2,179 due at Lease Signing.

2008 MAZDA3 s Sport 5-Door AT
$249/Month, 24-Month Lease, $2,249 due at Lease Signing after $250 MAC lease cash back.

2008 MAZDA6 i Sports Sedan Sport Value Edition AT
$229/Month, 24-Month Lease, $2,229 due at Lease Signing after $1,500 MAC lease cash back.

The Amount due at Lease Signing is higher in the following states: Connecticut ($2,742); Massachusetts ($2,819); Rhode Island ($2,871); Virginia ($2,537); and West Virginia ($2,550).

2008 MX-5 Miata Sport MT
$219/Month, 24-Month Lease, $2,219 due at Lease Signing after $1,000 MAC lease cash back.
