2010 Nissan Altima, Maxima Lease Rates – February 2010

logo_nissanMy Take: As I write this, I am gearing up to visit my local Nissan dealer today. My wife and I will be checking out the Altima and the Maxima today to see if there’s anything promising. Here are the “over the phone” numbers I got Thursday. The Maxima does have $500 loyalty cash and $2000 cash to customer, but the $2k cannot be used on a lease. I also was told that when using VPP quotes, you cannot take advantage of the rebates. Not sure how much truth there is in that but we’ll see. Just remember one thing…any unclaimed rebate or cash, goes to the dealer, so if you don’t do your homework right, you will lose out on a lot of money.

2009/2010 Nissan Altima, Maxima Lease Rates – October 2009

logo_nissanMy Take: 2009 Altima and Maxima sedan numbers look pretty good. The residual could be higher, but we’re so late in the 2009 year that it’s somewhat expected. Nissan is throwing a $1,750 rebate at any remaining 2009 Altima 2.5 S and Maxima SV sedan right so that should offset the low residual. You can alternatively look into the 2010 which has a significantly higher residual. but the money is also high as well. I’d shoot for a 2009 unless you can’t find the exact options you are looking for.

2009 Nissan Maxima, Murano Lease Rates – September 2009

logo_nissanUpdate: Added 24-month lease rates for the 2009 Maximas. My Take: For the sake of time, I’m going to start bundling the 2009 lease rates for each make, that way I don’t have to make a new post for each model. These aren’t very “popular” leases right now anyway, so it should be fine. I’d like to point out that the Maxima SV looks pretty right now. Just look at the money factor. The residual could be better, but I can’t complain. You can opt for a 12k mile lease and the residual should jump another 2%. Buying is also a great option since you can get 0% financing for up to 60 months on remaining 2009 Maximas. I also got the rates for the 2010 Maxima and I can say that it isn’t half bad. However, I would still inquire about the 2009 first to see if you can get a lower payment on those.

The Murano lease rates are a bit weak, so I don’t recommend it this month.

09 Nissan Maxima, Rogue, Murano Lease Rates – April 2009

logo_nissanMy Take: Ever wonder why Hondas, Nissans or Toyotas don’t offer very good 48-month leases? That’s because their warranties are only 36-months long, so make sure you don’t go beyond that. Anyway, sorry for the bundle post. I am just trying to get these numbers out there for you as quick as I can. The Maxima is probably the better lease of the three cars in this post. The money factor is high and the residual is pretty decent. Stay away from the Rogue. You may want to consider the Murano since it has about $2500 worth in customer rebates (click here to see if you qualify for any of them).

09 Nissan Maxima Lease Rates – March 2009

logo_nissanMy Take: The money factor isn’t very strong on the Maxima this month but the residual is still fairly high so it isn’t too bad. There is $750 dealer cash, so be sure to factor that into your negotiations. Still, LESSEE BEWARE! The payments are not very cheap so be sure to check out other comparable cars such as the V6 models of the Accord/Camry and maybe even the G37 and the Acura TL.

November 2008 Lease Rate for 09 Nissan Maxima

My Take: There was a slight drop in the money factor on the SV and S model this month. The SV model retained the same residual from October, while the S model dropped by 1%. This makes the payments on the S model about the same as last month, while the SV gets a slight discount. I still feel that the money factor is too high (6.192% APR) considering how low interest rates are nowadays. If you can’t wait, this month is certainly better than the last, however, I feel that there is still some room to drop.

October 2008 Lease Rate for 09 Nissan Maxima

My Take: These rates are actually as of Sept 30th, since Tarry posted them a bit late. I’ll keep an eye out for the new numbers in case they pop up. In the meantime, feel free use this as “reference”. There isn’t any lease support anyway, so the lease should get cheaper over time.

UPDATE: The rates have indeed stayed the same as last month for the Maxima. Nothing to cheer about really. Maybe next month they’ll drop the MF a bit and keep the residual the same. That would be a good way to get these rides moving.

August 2008 Lease Rate for 09 Nissan Maxima

My Take: First impression is that the MF is a bit high, but the residuals seem to be reasonably high on the S trim so it may be a worthwhile lease. Let’s take a look…

  • Maxima S (no options available)
  • MSRP $30,485
  • Invoice $27,909
  • Standard inception fees + tax not included
  • Residuals posted are for 15K miles/year.

2009 Nissan Maxima S
24 Month – Residual 70% of MSRP – .00250 Base Rate
36 Month – Residual 59% of MSRP – .00250 Base Rate

24mo Payment: $397 at invoice, $510 at MSRP
36mo Payment: $390 at invoice, $468 at MSRP

The 09 Maxima is newly redesigned, which means you may not get much of a discount off MSRP. The S trim is a base model, so no options are available. You will have to go up to the SV model to get the extra options. The payments on the S trip aren’t looking great if you ask me, low $400s after tax, assuming invoice. TMV suggests the car is going at MSRP and I’m inclined to believe it, for the moment.

  • Maxima SV + Premium
  • MSRP $36,135
  • Invoice $32,989
  • Standard inception fees + tax not included
  • Residuals posted are for 15K miles/year.

2009 Nissan Maxima SV

36 Month – Residual 56% of MSRP – .00250 Base Rate

24mo Payment: $523 at invoice, $662 at MSRP
36mo Payment: $487 at invoice, $582 at MSRP

No matter how I look at it, there isn’t a deal to be had here. Problem is, you may have to pay close to MSRP for the car. If you are considering a Maxima, I would recommend looking at other alternatives such as the G35/G37 or the 3-series. If you compare the payments, you’ll see that the G35 is actually cheaper than the Maxima SV. At MSRP, I think I’d rather be cruising in a 335i than a Maxima for 36 months.  I still think the Maxima is Nissan’s red-headed stepchild.
