2010 Infiniti G37 Lease Rates – February 2010

logo_infinitiUpdate: My apologies, but I only manage to get the convertible numbers for the 2009 model (36-months 15k miles | residual 58% | MF 0.00217). Hope this helps in any way. Moving on to the G37 sedan I discussed in my original Take this month. I actually got some info on that…The $500 Retail Captive Dealer Cash is NOT available for leases, so you cannot factor that one into your calculations. My official offer was $30,388, which is about $1200 below invoice. This means $1000 loyalty and $200 below invoice price. Not bad at all. If you pay all fees up front, the monthly payments come out to $336 per month plus tax (this gets a 0.99 rating on my calculator, which is awesome!). This is for a BASE G37 sedan. Availability is VERY limited on these sedans since most folks opt for the Journey trim. But if you are budget conscious but want a luxury ride, this is a good deal. Expect inception fees to be around $1500. If you are in Southern California and this peaks your interest, contact David Baker. I think he has a white one with stone interior left, three silver and one brown one coming in by next month. If you aren’t an existing IFS customer, your price will be $1000 higher, which would put you at $365 plus tax with inception due at signing (still an excellent deal with a 1.07 rating in my calculator).

My Take: I’m pretty impressed with the current numbers on the G37. The residual values are strong and the money factors are quite moderate, sitting at around 3.72% APR. The best part about this is that if you are an existing Infiniti customer, you have access to $1000 in loyalty cash which can be used with leasing. There is also $500 Retail Captive Dealer Cash which can be used on the sedan. Unfortunately, I haven’t confirmed whether this can be used in leasing or not (I am inclined to say no on that one).

Here’s a quick little scenerio for you. Lets take a base model G37 sedan at a MSRP of $34115 with an invoice of $31,592. Apply the $1000 loyalty cash and you get a sale price of $30,592. Using that as the sale price and the lease rates below, you would be looking at a $339 per month payment plus tax, with inception due at singing. Now, assuming that we can actually use the $500 Retail Captive Dealer Cash, you would be looking at a monthly payment of around $325 per month plus tax. This is cheap for a base model luxury car. This ALMOST falls within my wife’s target of $370 (with tax and only inceptions due at singing) per month. Unfortunately, with poor MPG, a 50-mile per day commute and premium gas, the G37 sedan just won’t do it for her.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! As you all know, I will be going on vacation tonight and I will not be returning until the weekend of the 16th. This means that there will not be posting any lease rates until I return. I know you will miss having all the information all on one website, but don’t feel bad, you can still find it floating around the web. In any case, remember that the price tags for practically ALL BMWs are going up starting January 1st, so today IS your last day to snap up 2010 models for a lower price tag. The lease cash is still available on all BMWs right now so don’t sleep on this.

Other notable promotions that will also end come January 4th:

  • Lexus December to Remember (No idea what the deal is here)
  • VW (Sign-then-drive, waiving 1st monthly payment)
  • Audi (waiving security deposit)
  • Mazda (Sign-and-drive)
  • Infiniti (Limited Winter Engagement; really attactive lease numbers for the G37. 2010 G37s are coming next month, so the deal could be extended OR become less attractive)
  • Honda (Happy Honda Days; for the most part, the lease rates are pretty good on the more popular models like the Accord)
  • Toyota (Camry is a REALLY good deal right now)
  • Acura (The $1500 and $2000 rebates will probably disappear come January 5th on the TSX V6 with and without Tech).

Now before I head out, there will be some temporary changes that I plan to implement starting today.

  1. New users cannot register in the forums. During my absence, I will be disabling the new user registration approving new users MANUALLY because I’ve been slammed with spammers these past couple weeks and I do not want to come back to a bunch of spammers peddling their viagra, cyalis, ringtones or webcam girls. Since I won’t be able to moderate the forums on a daily basis I felt this was the best option while I am away. New users will be approved upon my return.
  2. Current users will still have access to the forums. This means if you have already registered, you can post as you please.
  3. You may use this blog post as your general Q&A post. Since the blog part of the site handles spam much better than the forums, you may ask your questions here if you like. Just remember that using certain explicit language or hyper linking to other websites will get your comments flag as spam, so it would have to be approved manually.

That is all folks! Enjoy the New Year, hopefully we get some really good lease rates this year (I know I need it because my TSX has about 4 payments left).

See you all when I get back!

2009 Infiniti G37, M35 Lease Rates – December 2009

logo_infinitiUPDATE: Full listing of all G37 December rates is out! Check it out! They all look very good this month considering the 2010 model should be coming in January. If anyone in your home is a current IFS customer, you should also qualify for the loyalty cash, making things a bit sweeter.

My Take: I know, its kind of weird that I split the 2009 and the 2010 M35s, but I thought it might make better sense to sort them by years instead of model. Either way, I don’t think you will have a tough time keeping up with my inconsistancies. Haahaa. Anyway, money factors are low now on the 2009s. I think there’s some cash on the M35s right as well, so take advantage of that. Just a general rule of thumb, if you see any marketing or dealer cash, it’s probably not available for leasing. IFS hasn’t really allowed much (or any) of the marketing/dealer available for leasing. There should be loyalty cash available to help. G37s 2010 models should be rolling in around January, so I think now is probably going to be the better time to get one than when the 2010s roll out. There are exceptions to this, however, I generally see the lease rates get really bad for remaining 2009s because banks would rather have you buy them than lease them.

2010 Infiniti FX35, M35 Lease Rates – December 2009

logo_infinitiMy Take: I’m a bit pissed off that Inifiniti did not show up at the LA Auto Show. I need some photos! Anyway, Here are some of the 2010 offerings. Surprisingly enough, the 2010 M is already getting HUGE drop in MF. The residual is weak as heck though, so that would explain why. Lower residual values now may actually be a good thing when the economy recovers in a few years. As we get out of this recession, we may start seeing the depreciation of these cars slow down, making them worth more than their payoffs. This is all hypothetical of course, if we fall into a “W” recession, expect values to keep dropping.

Swap-A-Lease Success Story – Part 2

As you can see, more and more people have had a decent experience getting leases through lease trading. I will say this, this is NOT for everyone. But it will save you money if you are a bargain hunter and have the patience. Here is the email I got from Ashe about his experience through Swapalease.com. You can always read his entry here on RIDE with G’s Facebook Page.

Hi G, sorry it took so long to write about my Swapalease experience. I have been searching for a Black on Black G37x Coupe with premium package for a while at different dealerships and I was convinced that one couldn’t be had for under $550/month with at least $2k down payment. I happened to be browsing Swapalease one night and located a 2008 G37 Coupe about 20 miles from where I live. I paid the $30 for a 1 month membership and got the owners information and gave him a call. He had a Black on Black G37 Coupe with premium package that was slightly over the mileage for the year by about 2000 miles. I figure if I go over the 39,000 miles its 20 cents a mile (2000 x .20 = $400 that I would owe at lease end). This was still less than the $2k I would have had to put down on a new car. The car was immaculate except for some slight scratches here and there. He had placed a $4000 down payment last year and lowered his payment to $430 a month. He had 25 months remaining on the lease. The process to transfer lease took about 4 weeks and with no cost to either party. At the end I spent about $100 to transfer the lease including getting a new key and FOB (he had lost the spare), Swapalease membership and $5 to transfer the registration and plates into my name.
I included a picture of the car.

The key here is how much he would have spent at drive-off vs what he actually ended up spending when it was all said and done. The same happened with  Jennifer’s Swapalease story. These types of websites are really great to find deals on cars where people overpaid and have to throw cash at it in order to make it enticing enough for other people take over them. Plus you save yourself those inception fees, which nowadays its in the thousands!

I have not done a full-scale evaluation between Swapalease and LeaseTrader, but from initial reports from users, we are looking about the same concept; you pay a subscription fee to get access to contact information. It seems Swapalease has a lower subscription fee ($34.95) vs LeaseTrader ($39.95) for buyers. In any case, I will probably do a more in depth write up of these two services. Hopefully representatives of these two sites are open to answering some questions.

2009/2010 Infiniti FX and EX Lease Rates – November 2009

logo_infinitiMy Take: Overall, the lease rates look decent on the 2010 EX. 2009 EX residuals are a bit low, but so are the money factors; which is a good thing. I gather that you can probably get more of a discount on the 2009, but besure to crunch the numbers to really see which is the better deal. I would have the dealer work both the 2010 and 2009 price quotes to see how things shape up. As for the FX, I’m hearing $2000 rebate right now, so be sure to factor in the rebate into your negotiations. Numbers look a bit weak, but if you can get the 2009, the MF is pretty low so it might be worth look into.

2009 Infinit G37 Lease Rates – November 2009

logo_infinitiMy Take: Not the complete G37 lease rates for all trims, but I’m trying here. Here’s what I’ve found so far. Enjoy. The 2010 should be out soon. I remember they came out around this time last year. I think might be the last stretch for those looking for remaining 2009 models. IFS is also offering $1500 rebate for those of you leasing or buying the G37.
