Infiniti owners who received an exclusive offer in the mail are able to recommend to a friend that they purchase or lease a new Infiniti vehicle. When the friend purchases or leases a new Infiniti vehicle, both owners will receive an American Express®-branded award card — worth $150 for the original owner and $500 for the new owner. Should the original owner, or members of their household, choose to purchase or lease a new Infiniti vehicle, they are eligible to receive both cards. After purchase or lease, either the original owner or the friend can enter the redemption code from the mailer and the requested information.

Purchase or lease must be made at an Infiniti Retailer between March 23, 2009 and June 30, 2009. Once the form is completed and verified, American Express®-branded award cards will be mailed within 6 to 8 weeks. You will both be notified by mail if redemption information cannot be verified. If you have not received the card in 8 weeks, please call (800) 426-4283, Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. CST. Limit one redemption per VIN. Card is issued in the name submitted on the redemption form. Offer must be redeemed before July 31, 2009. Must be 21 or older and have valid driver’s license. This offer is also not valid to Infiniti employees, affiliates or retailers. Void where prohibited by law.

My ThoughtsI never actually got a mailer, so I will not be able to reap the benefits of this program by referring you all of you to it. The good news is that if you did get it, you may want to get together with other future owners and see if you can help each other get the gift cards.

logo_infiniti My Take: Mike, this one is for you…Since we’ve been discussing alternatives to the 3-series, 5-series, C-Class and E-Class, I proposed a couple of choices such as the Acura TL, Audi A6 and Infiniti G37 sedans. However, if those are not to your liking, here are some rates for the M35 I came across, which seems to be getting some decent discounts. It might be worth looking into since Infiniti is offering $2000 loyalty cash on both the 08 and 09 models, plus another $1500 on the 08 model. It’s about the same size as a E-Class and the crash test results came out to be “good” on the government’s IIHS website.

08 Infiniti EX Lease Rate – March 2009

logo_infiniti My Take: Looks like Infiniti fudged with the EX numbers this month. Last month, an EX35 Journey AWD’s residual value was 49%. This month, the residual value for the same exact car goes up to 51%. That’s typically a good thing, however, the money factor went up along with it, which basically cancels each other out. The good news is that there is 0.9% financing for 72 months or 0% for 36 months. Unfortunately, the $5000 dealer cash cannot be combined with this deal, but it should be at least partially available for leases. The $500 sell down dealer cash should be available for both leases and purchases.

logo_infiniti My Take: There is around $3000 dealer cash available on the FX35 this month, so factor that into your negotiations. The rates are practically unchanged, so it isn’t any better than last months. Now, couple of things for you California residents. Our sales tax goes up April as I mentioned in a previous post, but our car registrations will ALSO go up (double) beginning May 19th. To top things off, we’re rasing our gasoline tax by another 12 cents. So yeah, think long and hard as to what car and when you plan to lease your next ride. We’re talking hundreds of dollars in savings if you pick the right one.

09 Infinit G37 Lease Rates – March 2009

logo_infiniti My Take: Sorry G37 fans, this month’s lease looks so-so. On a positive note, the G37 sedan looks like an OKAY lease right now due to a slightly lower money factor (but the residual did drop a little). Certainly not at the level it was last year though. Also, remember the sweet-spot is the 36-month lease. Infiniti is going to great lengths to make 24-month leases unattractive right now. The coupe is getting no love from leasing gods right now, as matter of fact, I think the money factor went up. Word is that there are still some 08 models to be had right now, so until that inventory dwindles, the coupe will still lease horribly. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get this car. On the contrary, there is $500 customer cash ($2000 dealer cash), plus 1.9%, 2.9%, 3.9% financing for 36-months, 48-months and 60-months, respectively. I see no reason why you shouldn’t go in for a test drive.

09 Infiniti FX/EX Lease Rates for February 2009

My Take: There is $3000 Marketing Cash available for the FX and another $2000 loyalty cash. Of course, you can’t combine that with the special financing that’s available (1.9% 36 months, 2.9% 48 months, 3.9% 60 months). Remember the amount of marketing cash you get is usually distributed at dealer’s discretion, but you can qualify for the entire loyalty cash if you qualify. Generally, most dealers will not give you the entire $3000 unless you are paying cash for the car. Just imagine if you qualify for both and are paying cash! You are guarantee at least $5000 off just from the manufacturer alone! The EX is still on the 2008 model year, so you can see why the residuals are so low. The money factor is practically nonexistant so I would certainly jump on this lease. Heck, you might even consider leasing this car even if you plan on buying the car. There is $5000 marketing cash here and another $500 sell down cash (compatible with special financing, 0.9% for 72 months) for both purchases and leases. Another thing you may want to consider is leasing for 48 months. The payments on some of the models are lower than the 36-month and your car will still be under warranty. The only thing you need to watch out for are the wear-n-tear costs. Because your lease runs longer, more stuff may need to be replaced.

My Take: The FX looks like a decent lease this month as well. TM suggest near invoice price, which is good news. Factoring the $2000 lease cash available and you are probably looking at around $2000 below invoice on a FX35 lease right now. You do want to avoid the 24-month lease however. That one is clearly not a good deal since the MF is inflated adn the residual is low.

DO NOT LEASE – 09 Infiniti G37 Lease Rates for January 2009

MY TAKE: I started to find too many leases that got significantly worse so I felt that I probably needed to feature them individually since the “DO NOT LEASE” lease is getting WAY TOO LONG. As a result, I decided to start things off with the 09 Infiniti G37s. As much as I love these cars, I can’t find myself recommending them this month. The residual values are significantly lower than the 08 models, factor in the high money factors and you have a bad combination for a lease.

Quite hideous aren’t they? It is obvious that IFS is trying to steer us clear from the 24 month leases, but the 36 month leses aren’t look all that great either. I’m just glad I pulled the trigger when I did because last May/June’s rates were probably the lowest rates you will ever see for the G37s.
