My Take: The rates for the 09 Lexus ES and IS look promising this month. I get the feeling that the days of leasing a $30k+ luxury car for $300s a month with just inception fees and taxes are over. After looking at Infiniti’s 09 G37s, I’m starting to think that the banks have decided not to inflate residual values too much. Good for them, bad for us. In any case, Lexus residual values could use a boost, but the money factors are pretty good. There is a $1000 cash rebate for current/former ES owners, so be sure to take advantage of that if you have/had an ES. FYI…invoice data isn’t available on the 09 IS and ES on Edmunds so you’ll have to guess as to what it is. I suspect it should be around $2000 or so under MSRP.

My Take: Residuals took a dive this month compared to the last. The good news is that the MFs also dropped, maintaining the payments at around the same ballpark. Please note that the HS250h is currently not available for lease/purchase due to recalls. That could change in the near future, but as for now, stay away from that model. My Take: Residual values are bit low for my taste, but the money factor is pretty decent, sitting at just around 2% APR. I didn’t bother posting the 48-month terms because the money factor jumps to .00265, so that’s a big no-no in my book.
