2010 MINI Cooper Lease Rates – November 2009

logo_miniMy Take: High residual values make the MINI a fairly good lease despite the higher than average money factor. Just make sure you don’t opt to buyout the lease at the end of your term and you should be fine. Despite the lower MF on the S, the Base model is the better value since the S model’s residual value is 5% lower than the Base. The good news about the S is that it’s a cheaper lease than last month.

2009 MINI Cooper Lease Rates – September 2009

logo_miniUpdate: 2009 model lease rates updated. Really not a bad time to lease one. The MF is a bit high, but so is the residual, so its ok. My Take: I find it kind of weird that the 2010 rates are a bit lower than the 2009 rates on the Clubman. Is MINI trying to be more “realistic” with their residual values for the upcoming model year??? I could be wrong, but it is starting to look like it. You probably can’t order 2009 MINIs anymore, so I suggest looking at any remaing 2009 and snagging them as soon as you can. If BMWFS really decides to bring down the residuals, MINI for the 2010 model year will get that much pricier.

My Take: The MINI Coopers are looking quite good this month with the 09 models out, you can take advantange of the super high residual values. The money factors are less than desirable, but the residual does help offset the high interest. Word of caution, this car has boat load of options, the more you add, the more expensive it gets. There aren’t any major inceptives here, but you can probably get the lowest rate without a security deposit. Expect payments in the mid-$300 to high-$300 range for a well-equipped model of the Cooper S and high-$200, low-$300 for the base Cooper.

My Take: The MF for all Mini’s is pretty much the same across the board, which is a good thing. It’s probably not the lowest MF, but it isn’t as ridiculous as GMAC’s. Strong residual values make this car a very attractive lease. These cars may be priced reasonably, but when you start tacking on the options, it gets expensive very quickly.
