October 2008 Lease Rates for All 09 Mercedes Benz Models

My Take: Slim pickings here for Mercedes-Benz. Of the entire line up, the following four rides seem to have resonable money factors and residual values (actually, all C300s have the same rates, so you can go with either the sport, sport 4matic, lux or lux 4matic). You should be able to get a pretty nice discount on these rides though, so that should make up for it. Invoice or less is what I would personally shoot for. Keep in mind that a 48-month lease may yield lower monthly payments, so that is always an option. Remember, in our current economic environment, they need you more than you need them. My Take: I have yet to see a “solid” deal on a C-Class since I started this blog. Bone stock, the C300 Sport 4matic already costs nearly $500 a month + inception fees. Better deals can be had elsewhere right now if you ask me. Other sedans to consider are of course the A4, 328i, IS250 or the G35 sedan, soon to be G37 sedan.

August 2008 Lease Rate for 08/09 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

My Take: 2008 C-Class should be off your “cars to lease” list, probably for the remainder of the year. If you want a C-class, look into the 2009 models. The price tag may be a big more for them, but the residual is higher and the money factor is lower than the 2008 models. The majority of people seem to like the Sport trim better than the Luxury, so I will be taking a look at the C300 Sport 4matic, which happens to have the better residual/mf combo.

Ugh! $720 for a metallic paint job. The C300 is a nice car, but I think MB is really making you pay for that three-pointed star on the grill. I’d be more willing to pay this kind of pricetag for the C350, not the C300. I would recommend looking elsewhere for comparable models. The IS250, TSX, A4 2.0T Q & 328i are looking MUCH better this month.

My Take: No changes here from June. I can’t say the rates are bad, but they aren’t exactly great. The C350 Sport seems to be the better lease for the 36mo and 48mo terms. The residual values could be better, but these are Mercedes Benz and they don’t make them like they used to.

My Take: The rates/residuals for the C-Class have not changed from the May Rates. So if you were hoping to get into a C-Class this month, you might want to wait a bit longer. I think the best MF and Residual combination right now is the 24mo lease (add 2% residual for 12k mile leases) for the C350 Sport. Now, whether you can get one at invoice, that’s another story.

My Take: If MB (Mercedes Benz) isn’t taking advantage of the newly redesigned C-Class, then I don’t know what they are doing. A whopping .00365 money factor on the C63 AMG? OUCH! .00230 and .00240 isn’t exactly that low either. I do love the aggressive/muscle car look of the new C-Class. This car definitely more refined than the previous C-Class. I can’t say I would recommend leasing this car considering how terrible the residual and MF are. It is obvious MB is milking early adopters for all they got at the moment.
