logo_acura My Take: The money factor is starting to drop on the TSX now so keep an eye out this June to see how they may look. If I don’t have them when you need them, check with your dealer. I haven’t had any problems with Acura dealers bumping the MF, so I wouldn’t be too worried about that. The key thing to look for is a MF drop and a steady residual. Keep your eyes peeled.

09 Acura TL Lease Rates – May 2009

logo_acura My Take: I guess I did have another lease rate before my trip! LOL Anyway, I had to do some “guesstimating” on the 24 month residuals, but the 36 month numbers should be right in line with what you are seeing at the dealers (hopefully). Remember, if you are getting different results from your local dealer, be sure to post them here for the rest of us. The residual values have dropped on the TL in May so AHFC dropped the money factors a bit. Payments should practically stay the same. Regarding pricing, I would not go beyond invoice. Period. If anything, I would try going $500-$1000 below, depending on your market. But this is just my opinion as a consumer. Remember, if you need help analyzing deals, I will need ALL of the information pertaining to the lease, not just MSRP, down payment and monthly payment.

logo_acura My Take: Nothing new is going on with the TSX and the TL this month. The rates are exactly the same as March. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!! Oh well, at lease invoice price should be attainable in most markets with decent competition. I’m not seeing any cash rebates or special financing of any kind for either ride, so you better put that negotiating hat on because it’s going to take some extra effort on your part to get a good deal.

logo_acura My Take: New month, same lease rates. If you where waiting for the MDX payments to drop, you will have to wait a little bit longer. I think that the money factor still could use some reduction, so hopefully Honda will do themselves a favor and lower it so they can move some cars. There is $2000 in marketing support cash on the MDX however, so that should help ease the pain if you really need to get a new family hauler. Speaking of SUVs, some of you should have probably heard that Honda will be releasing the ZDX soon. Here’s a little excerp from Bloomberg.com and a pic from MotorTrend.com

“The V-6 engine ZDX, the first Acura designed by a woman, will be built at Honda’s Alliston, Ontario, plant where MDX is produced, Spencer said. The new Acura competes with Bayerische Motoren Werke AG’s BMW X6 crossover, introduced last year.

The model will be priced “in between MDX and the RL” sedan, he said. The 2009 MDX is priced from $40,990 while the top-end RL sedan sells for as much as $54,100, according to the company’s Web site. “

Are you excited? I certainly am. Major props to the lady that designed the ZDX. Not just because she did an excellent job, but also because I believe the percentage of female auto designers is like 0.2% or something of that nature.

logo_acura My Take: MDX lease rates aren’t that much better than February (you are saving yourself about $10 a month compared to last month). The money factor dropped to compensate for the drop in residual value. The $2000 dealer cash is still available, so be sure to take advantage of that if you are shopping for a MDX. Personally, I’m liking the FX35 more this month.

logo_acura My Take: Good New! The TSX payments dropped a little due to the lower money factor. Also, don’t forget the $750 dealer cash available on this car. The TL also got a money factor reduction, but also get dinged on the residual (1-2% on the 36+ month terms). Basically the 24-month lease got cheaper, but the 36-month ones are a few dollars more. Nothing astronomical, but worth noting. You do get $1000 dealer cash on the TL, so be sure to factor that into your negotiations.

09 Acura TSX Lease Rates for February 2009

My Take: I would really like to see the TSX’s money factor drop some more in March, maybe below .00200. The TSX I leased in May 2007 went for under $300 before taxes with just $750 due at signing, so I think the TSX can do much better as the year progresses. The question is, will it? Not too sure since in January the TSX actually posted a gain in sales, shockingly enough. In any case, you can either sit tight or jump into it right now. Either way, the TSX is still a pretty good lease due to it’s high residual value. TMV suggest almost $3000 off MSRP, that means this car is probably going for invoice or a bit below it. Edmunds didn’t publish the invoice price on the 09 TSX, so I just had to use th TMV, which is not a bad price if you ask me. Can you go lower? Its very possible.

09 Acura TL Lease Rates for February 2009

My Take: As unexciting as this may sound to you, Acura has not change their lease rates for February 2009. It doesn’t mean this car is a bad lease of course, but it certainly isn’t a DEAL either. I would be great if AHFC would cut the money factor in half. That should help move these cars. By the way, these rates will run through March. I get this feeling March is going to be a nice month for this car, just like it was last year for the 08 TL.
