09 BMW Z4, 6-Series, 7-Series Lease Rates – August 2009

logo_bmwMy Take: Rounding off the BMW lease rates, the Z4, 6-series and 7-series all have pretty decent leases rates in my opinion. Nothing that would want me to add them to the list, though. These cars have high enough residuals (except for the 7-series, which has low money factors) that putting down some MSDs should help lower the over monthly payment on the lease. If you don’t know what MSDs are, please raise your hand. Now here’s an email I got from Jake some weeks ago explaining why MSDs are a good thing:

“Hi G
I just to let you know I turned on my brother to your site. He was going to put $3k plus fees down to help with cap cost (lower) payment, but after seeing your site he put 8 MSDs to buy down the money factor. Fast forward 3 months, his X5 is gone (crash); he’s fine; INS. Gap, etc. takes care of it all. He saved a few grand just by reading your site. From the whole “M” famly THANKS for the info.”

There you have it folks, go with MSDs if the money factor is too high. Surprisingly enough, most people opt for cap reduction, which is just plain silly. So before you decide to put money down, ask your dealer if the bank allows you to buy down the money factor. You just might be glad you did.

09 BMW 7-Series Lease Rates – July 2009

logo_bmwMy Take: Lot of questions I haven’t gotten around to answer, so I’ll keep this brief. The residual is below average and the money factor is better than average. I wouldn’t call this a “deal”, but for the right sale price, it could be.

09 BMW 7-Series – June 2009

logo_bmwMy Take: I’m not a big fan of the 7-Series’ residual value, but the MF is not half bad. Like the Audi A8, I still only recommend leasing this ride only if you have a way of writing the payment off OR you have a money tree or two planted in your backyard. If you do have the latter, please invite me over for a backyard BBQ one of these days. ^_^

09 BMW 6-Series, 7-Series, M6 Lease Rates – April 2009

logo_bmwMy Take: M6 rates are looking much better than the 6-series while the 7-series is not looking all that great this month. I’m not really in the mood to post lease estimates right now, so feel free to request a quick calculation if you really need one. There is 0.9% financing on the 650s and the M6 for up to 60 months. Nothing for the 7-series. No cash, nada.

09 BMW 7-Series Lease Rates – March 2009

logo_bmwMy Take: Nothing spectacular about the 7-series this month. Low residual value plus high money factor equals “Too Much”. Of course, if you plan on writing this off as a business expense, then lease away. Personally, I just don’t have that kind of income to even write it off. Haahaa.

September 2008 Lease Rates for 08 BMW X5, Z4, 7-Series, 6-Series & X6

My Take: I started to notice a trend here with BMW leases this month. The massive drop in residual has made 24mo leases a really bad deal. On the flip-side, 36mo residuals remained the same and are rewarded with a new lower MF, making these leases CHEAPER than last month. VERY good time to jump into a X5 if that’s what you are looking to lease. I know that with gas prices at these levels, these SUVs aren’t exactly flying off the shelves. Nevertheless, some families do need the space, so now is not a bad the time. Better to lease one of these than to own them if you ask me.

If you haven’t noticed, this month you can get a 4.8i at 36 months for about $11 more than leasing a 3.0si last month. For those who waited, I say WOO HOO! I would most definitely pony up $11 more a month to be in a 4.8i than on the 3.0si. That’s $11 more a month to drive in a car that’s has over $7000 more in upgrades. NICE! That’s $396 more over 3 yrs for those who like numbers.

Rest of the BMW line up:
I didn’t notice anything exceptional. I mean most people aren’t shopping for 7-series since the payments are more than some people’s mortgage.  Don’t worry, I will still assist with payment calculations, just leave me comment or send me an email.

August 2008 Lease Rates for 08 BMW 7-Series

My Take: The 7-series rates for August remain unchanged, so nothing to sing about. Then again, if you can afford the 7-series, do you really care? Maybe, maybe not. Anyway, I’ll be using the 750Li as an example for the estimated monthly payments.

Edmunds’ TMV suggests that the car can be leased at another $2000-$2800 under invoice. Some folks around the country have also reported at least 11k off MSRP on their leases. so it looks like payments can dip into $1272 for 24mo and $1196 for 36mo if you can go about $2800 under invoice. You can further cut that price by opting for the 12k or the 10k mileage allowances. Remember, if you are not a returning BMW customer, you may have to pay a security deposit to get the .00215 base rate.
