09 Porsche 911 Lease Rates – July 2009

logo_porscheUPDATE: Added more Porsche 911 trims. Not that it matters too much since the lease rates still suck.

My Take: The .00300 money factor kind of scares me, but the residual value is above average. Still, not what I would call a “deal” this month. Feel free to buy or pass on this ride, even if it’s a Porsche.

09 Audi A3, A6, Q5 Lease Rates – July 2009

logo_audiMy Take: I am addressing three solid Audi leases on this post. First, is the A3, which is sporting a pretty low money factor and decent residual. I recommend the A3 2.0T Premium Quattro. Audi is reknown for their Quattro system, so you just gotta have it, even if you don’t think you need. Just stay away from the 3.2 S-Line and you’ll be fine. There aren’t any major incentives right now other than the $1000 in loyalty cash for the A3. Moving on to the A6, I’m not a fan of this since I prefer the 5-series and the E-Class in terms of styling. Despite that, I cannot over look the super low money factors on the 3.2 3.0 models. This is Audi’s way of telling you to borrow money from them for next to nothing. A6’s are notorious for big discounts too, so do your best to dip below invoice. Lastly, the Q5 is looking pretty decent so they are certainly worth a look as well. Check out these three vehicles on The List to get a feel for their monthly payment ranges. I’m not going to go out on a limb to say these guys are “must-haves”, because they are not. They just seem like better-than-usual deals, specially for an Audi.

09 Mercedes Benz R, S, G Lease Rates – July 2009

logo_benzMy Take: This is like my list of rejected Mercedes Benz leases for the month. Some models try (like the S550), but for the most part they don’t try hard enough. I guess you could try leasing a S550 4matic, which looks like the better option in this whole list, but why? If you have the money to be looking at a S-Class, why just buy it?

09 Audi A4/S4 Lease Rates – July 2009

logo_audiMy Take: Before I get into the A4 lease rates, I’d like to point out something about Audi that bugs me. I think they are generally overpriced, compared to their competitors. If you think about it, the 328i, G37, IS250, TL are all supposed to be “competitors” to the A4 and they all pack a much beefier engine for around the same amount of cash. Outside of Audi’s AWD and stylish exterior, I really feel like they need to really bring more “ooomph” to the playing field. Now that I have gotten that out of the way, The A4 rates are quite attractive this month. Residual are still pretty low compared to their competition, but money factors have dropped significantly. My recommendation? A4 2.0T Premium Quattro. Highest residual, lowest MF of the bunch makes for a good combination for cheaper monthly payments. The question is, is it enough? I currently do not have any Audi dealers I like, so feel free to use Yahoo Autos to get some quotes.

09 Mercedes Benz SLK Lease Rates – July 2009

logo_benzMy Take: Low money factor alert! SLK300 MF is so cheap, they are practically giving it away. Seriously! You can do a 10k mile lease and boost your residual for 36 month to about 49%, and you are basically paying a few bucks every month on interest charges. This is also a pretty good Lease-to-Buy car too. Just go for the 10k lease over 48 months and pay off the car at lease end. Oh did I mention the $5,000 lease cash? Ahh yes! This beats out the Z4 AND the TT easily. So Cal residents can contact Aaron, all other can use Yahoo Autos to get quotes from your local dealers.

09 Infiniti G37 Lease Rates – July 2009

logo_infinitiMy Take: Good news, the money factor on the G37 Journey coupe is actually LOWER than I originally thought! .00176! The residual is what I originally reported on my Saturday post, 58% at 36mo/15k miles per year. Cool huh? That means the payments are even less than anticipated. Look for the coupe and the sedan on THE LIST this month. Folks in Nevada and Arizona may want to consider coming out to So Cal for your cars. From what I understand, the dealer doc fee in those states are not regulated, which means dealers can charge you whatever they want. I’ve seen doc fees as high as $600 in those states! In CA, it’s capped at $45 for leases, $55 for purchases. If you decide to make this a weekend trip, I can suggest a few places to visit while you are here. Anyway, if you are within reasonable distance, hit up David Baker for all your Infiniti needs. If not, you can use Yahoo Autos to get quotes from your local dealers (see below).

09 BMW X-Series Lease Rates – July 2009

logo_bmwMy Take: Skip the X3, skip the X5 3.0 , X5 diesel and X6 3.5. Stick with the X5 4.8 and the X6 5.0 because that’s the better value. Sure, its more expensive, but residuals are high and the money factors are reasonable. Don’t forget the MSDs! I’m am really surprised that most people still opt to put money down instead of opting for “multiple security deposit” when it comes to expensive cars. You really should consider that instead of putting money towards cap reduction because it will save you money in the long run. With security deposits, you will save in finance charges AND you get your money back at lease end. That is not the case when you put money down. Sure, your payments will be significantly lower, but that $3500 is pretty much gone for good. I know using $3500* towards security deposits seems stupid since you lock that in for about 36 months, but lowering your interest rate from 3.9% down to 2.9% on a 20,000+ loan will give you a better return than putting that $3500* in a 1.5% interest baring account. I’m a bit pressed for time so I can’t break it down for you financially, so just take my word for it.

Now eventhough the X5 4.8 is a pretty decent deal, the X6 is still the better buy, if that car fits your needs. Why? 2% residual value increase saves you more money than a drop of .0002 points in the MF. So the X6 makes THE LIST instead. Before I forget, there is also $1750 lease cash on it, so that just sweetens the deal that much more.

*I am using this as an example, your security deposits may vary.

09 Mercedes Benz CL Lease Rates – July 2009

logo_benzMy Take: Close, but no cigar. I don’t like any of these leases this month. The CL550 tries, but falls way short. The rest of the lineup doesn’t even bother to look appealing. At this price, I’d rather have the E550. Speaking which, I love that car. I just don’t have $60k to play around with, otherwise, I’d be rolling in a E-Class coupe right now.
