2010 BMW X-Series Lease Rates – September 2009

logo_bmwMy Take: Wow, BMWFS seems to be adjusting their residual values on the 2010 for sure now. Compare 2009 numbers with 2010 numbers on the X line of SUVs. The residuals are maybe 1 or 2 points higher than a 2009 August rate! Looks like tough times ahead for BMW lessees. They don’t look horrible, but I get the feeling that things are gonna get a bit more expensive down the road since residual values have the tendency to drop over time. Maybe BMWFS will keep the residuals steady for a longer period of time, then fluctuate the MF based on previous month sales figures? (wishful thinking here). Either way, brace yourself if you plan to lease a BMW in the coming year.

2010 Acura TSX Lease Rates – September 2009

logo_acuraMy Take: Yuck. The 2010 TSX lease rates are just not very appealing right now. The money factor is way too much for my liking. It will probably still lease “reasonably” but you didn’t come to this site trying to get into a “reasonable” lease now did you? If you gotta have it, consider MSDs. If you can wait, I would wait for the MF to drop so that the payments fall under $400 a month.

2009 Acura TL, MDX Lease Rates – September 2009

logo_acuraMy Take: I’m not really feeling the TL and MDX this month. The TL is virtually unchanged from last month, which is a bit disappointing. July was probably the best time to lease a TL because of the dealer cash that was available for leasing (which is very rare). There really isn’t much to say about the MDX either…with a residual this low, I’m not sure leasing is feasable. Unless you can get VERY aggressive pricing on the TL and MDX, I would probably take a pass and wait for the 2010s.

2010 Cadillac SRX Lease Rates – September 2009

logo_caddyMy Take: Shocking, I know. This is probably one of those rare moments where you will find a Caddy listed on the site. This is US Bank lease, which is why it actually looks pretty decent. I believe the 12k lease is 1% higher on the residual. The SUV looks very sharp and very luxurious, unfortunately, Car and Driver thought the engine was somewhat underpowered compared to other similarly priced SUVs.

2010 BMW 5-Series Lease Rates – September 2009

logo_bmwMy Take: 5-Series lease rates look unchanged from August, which is not such a bad thing since the lease rates are pretty reasonable. I’d like to note that auto sales should take a dive this month (compared to last month) due to the fact that the Cash for Clunkers deal has expired. This may be a good thing since you might be able to get more pricing for your leases. I’d like to remind you that when you contact your dealer, you should already a sale price and monthly payment range in mind. This will make things easier on you and your dealer. Don’t ask the dealer to make you an offer because you will spend a lot of time going back-and-forth, which generally results in much added stress for both parties. Ideally, inquire about all the fees, you should to work your numbers, THEN make your offer to the dealer. This would be the most effective/painless way to go.

2010 BMW 3-Series Lease Rates – September 2009

logo_bmwMy Take: There still should be 2009 models available for leasing so I would inquire about those first. For the month of September, the coupes are looking mighty fine. Take the 328xi for example, the residual is the highest is will ever be, and the money factor is only about .00145, which translates to about 3.48% APR. Not too shabby if you ask me. You can drop some MSDs to bring it down further if you wish, but personally, I think its fine as is.

I haven’t seen the 2009 numbers, but I will post them if I find them.
