2010 Mazda CX-7, CX-9 Lease Rates – November 2009

logo_mazdaMy Take: Wow, the residual values are SO ugly on the CX-7, its really a good thing the MF are low. The CX-9 is a bit better, but not by too much. Overall, I think this is one of those “Lease to Buy” candidates since the MF hovers around 1% APR. The best you can do financing a purchase is 0% for 36 months, which most people can’t afford to do. For the longer 60 month term, the interest rate jumps to 2.9%.

Mazda is also offering loyalty cash, here are the details:

$1,000 Owner Loyalty Cash toward 2009 MAZDA6 or CX-9
$500 Owner Loyalty Cash toward 2010 MAZDA3, MAZDA6, or CX-9

More fine print…

Mazda Owner Loyalty Cash Program $1,000 is good toward a new 2009 MAZDA6 or 2009 CX-9. Mazda Owner Loyalty Cash Program $500 is good toward a new 2010 MAZDA3, 2010 MAZDA6 or 2010 CX-9. Excludes MAZDASPEED3. The Mazda Owner Loyalty Cash Program CANNOT be combined with other private offers but CAN be combined with other public purchase incentives including but not limited to customer cash back, lease and APR incentives/offers. The offer is transferable within household, must live at the same address. Present dealer with proof of ownership (copy of vehicle registration or title) at time of purchase. Offer expires January 04, 2010.

Swap-A-Lease Success Story

This is probably the first time I’ve had anyone get back to me with a success story about their experience assuming a lease. You can find the full story, along with a picture of the ride over at RIDE with G’s Facebook Page. Here are the details of the post made by Jennifer.

Hey, there G… Your site is invaluable to lease lovers like myself. I recently got a sweet deal on a lease assumption through swapalease.com on a 2008 BMW 335i convertible. I think swapalease.com only charged me like ~$30 to get details on the “seller.” The car had 14K miles on it; I got the balance of the 36 mo/36K mile lease through BMWFS, expires in April 2011. Monthly payment was $888 but seller gave a $4000 incentive, essentially knocking the payment down to about $688/mo. Plus I got a mini-vacation to Las Vegas to pick up my new ride that is loaded with auto, premium pkg, sport pkg, cold-weather pkg, & idrive.

Special thanks to Jennifer for getting back to me with some feedback about her leasing experience. I think she got a pretty good deal out of it, specially with the extra $4000 incentive that came along with the car, making the payments MUCH lower. This 335 convertible is loaded with tons of options. Me like!

The lesson of this story is simple, if you can’t get the deal you want on a brand new car, head over to SwapALease.com or LeaseTrader.comĀ and browse through their inventory of slightly used ones to see if anything peeks your interest. Keep an eye out for offers that have cash incentives to help lower the price of the car.

2009/2010 Lexus RX, IS Lease Rates – November 2009

logo_lexusMy Take: A bit low on the IS numbers this month, but this should give you an idea of what Lexus’ “December to Remember” promo looks like. Not exactly memorable, but then again, they could be providing some rebates that I am not fully aware of. I say this because I’m not seeing anything official on Edmunds other than the 2.9% financing for 60 months. Expect lease rates to carry over through early January. This is probably going to be the case for most automakers.

2009/2010 Infiniti FX and EX Lease Rates – November 2009

logo_infinitiMy Take: Overall, the lease rates look decent on the 2010 EX. 2009 EX residuals are a bit low, but so are the money factors; which is a good thing. I gather that you can probably get more of a discount on the 2009, but besure to crunch the numbers to really see which is the better deal. I would have the dealer work both the 2010 and 2009 price quotes to see how things shape up. As for the FX, I’m hearing $2000 rebate right now, so be sure to factor in the rebate into your negotiations. Numbers look a bit weak, but if you can get the 2009, the MF is pretty low so it might be worth look into.

2010 Nissan GT-R Lease Rates – November 2009

logo_nissanMy Take: I personally would never lease one of these due to such a high money factor. If they were to ever bring it down by .00100 to .00200 points, I would definitely save up and consider it. But until then, I don’t think MSDs would even help bring down the interest on this ride. One can only dream, right?

2010 BMW 6-Series, Z4, 7-Series Lease Rates – November 2009

logo_bmwMy Take: None of these rides are cars that I normally shop for, so I don’t have too much to say about them. The lease rates look decent on the 6 series due to its high residual value, so it is safe to look into leasing one of those this month. As you know, there’s some customer cash of about $2500 you can use on the 6-series, so be sure to apply that to your sale price. MSDs should also be used to bring down the MF further (if you have the extra cash). In case you don’t know what MSDs are, they are basically security deposits you pay in order to bring down the money factor. They are full refundable at lease-end or in the event of a total-loss accident or theft.

2010 BMW X3, X5, X6 Lease Rates – November 2009

logo_bmwMy Take: BMWFS seems to be throwing around the $2500 customer cash like its a great deal or something. As I mentioned to you before in the 5-series post, a lower MF is preferred over a $2500 rebate. As you start looking at more expenstive cars, I’d rather have a lower interest rate than a straight up cash discount. With that said, despite the $2500 rebate, none of these SUV’s are worth leasing this month (if you don’t might pay more for them, be my guest).

logo_infinitiMy Take: Not the complete G37 lease rates for all trims, but I’m trying here. Here’s what I’ve found so far. Enjoy. The 2010 should be out soon. I remember they came out around this time last year. I think might be the last stretch for those looking for remaining 2009 models. IFS is also offering $1500 rebate for those of you leasing or buying the G37.
