My TAKE:

My dad gave me my first laptop back in 2003! I know it doesn’t compare, but I tried. Haahaa. The car looks so much better without that giant “beak”. Your daughters are very lucky girls to have a dad like you. If they disagree just show them the monthly bill. Haahaa. Overall, excellent deal. Trade-in equity covered the drive-off. $1500 dealer cash dropped the sell price below invoice. Pretty much what I highlighted on this August 2011’s Acura post. Can’t wait to see what your other daughter is getting as a replacement to the 2009 Lexus IS250.

2011 Land Rover Lease Rates – August 2011

It’s been a while since I posted anything Land Rover related, and for good reason. Their lease rates used to stink! Well, do still do, but not to the extent they used to. Chase is currently providing the financing for Land Rovers and the numbers look half decent. Unfortunately, the discounts leave a lot to be desired (I’m seeing 5% off MSRP on the RR HSE on TrueCar). That’s tough to work with due to the high price tag of these vehicles. There is also some cash on select LR models which can be used on a lease as long as you finance through Chase, but I don’t see how that helps much.

The current offer on the LR4 is $699 a month (plus tax) with $2995 due at signing (excludes fees and taxes). Based on a $54,250 MSRP, leased through Chase. Expect to pay to pay a lot more than this if my estimates are $699 per month (plus tax) with inception fees due at signing, based on a $48,500 MSRP.

Those who shop for Land Rovers really love this vehicle and won’t settle for anything else. Those who are looking for a deal, typically look elsewhere. I have never driven one, so I don’t understand the allure. But for this type of lease payment, I’d rather drive something else.

2011-12 Acura Lease Rates – August 2011

Acura lease rates remain practically unchanged with the exception of the RL, which had it’s residual drop by 1%. The TL is a fairly good lease this month. There is $1,000 Dealer Cash and $500 Dealer Bonus Lease Cash (this looks like a regional incentive). If you are a returning customer, you get an additional $750!!! See the first calculation below for an example of what returning customers would be looking at on a lease!

For those who are new to Acura, you are looking at a bump of about $20 per month since you don’t qualify for the $750 loyalty cash.

Alternatively you can lease the car at invoice and apply the cash towards your drive-off and do a $0 drive-off deal since the $1500 (returning customers will have extra cash left over to pay down the cap cost) should cover your inception fees.

Overall, you are looking at the TL sold at invoice PLUS all rebates as the target price. I’m quite sure that if you approach your dealer with that offer, most will agree to it.

2011-12 Infiniti Lease Rates – August 2011

Some big changes over at IFS this month. Residual values have gone up on all 2011 models. Unusual, but not unheard of. With that move, IFS has also bumped the money factors in order to keep the payments around the same ballpark as previous months. The good news here is that the increase of residual values seems to have more than offset the increase of the money factors.

Below, I have a quick sample calculation of July vs August rates using the same sale price. As you can see, the August lease rates are about $7 lower per month on the G37 Journey Sedan. The bad news is that returning IFS customers won’t have lease cash available to drop payments further. At least for now. According to Shappy, the loyalty cash is still going strong, hurray! See comments below. As I mentioned in this month’s VW post, lease rates and promotions CAN change mid-month, so check back often.

2011-12 Volkswagen Lease Rates – August 2011

2011 lease rates seem to be have stayed the same as last month (You can look at last month’s post for those numbers). No surprise there. There is a chance that rates could change mid-month, so I will keep you posted if anything changes. The CC still have the $1250 lease cash, but I don’t see the $750 cash anymore. It may still be available in some areas, so be sure to inquire about it.

For those open to buying, VW Credit is offering 0% financing for up to 60 month on the CC Sport DSG. In my opinion, that is a far better deal than leasing, since there is no interest on that loan. As a matter of fact, many VW models have the special 0% financing for up to 60 months, so you may want to have your dealer crunch out some numbers to see if buying works out better for you.
