2011-2012 Nissan Lease Rates – November 2011

The usual drop in residual/money factor here for most cars. As you’ve noticed throughout the year. Nissan and Honda has been huge when it comes to providing value leases compared to the rest of the competition. Nissan is offering $350 in lease cash (the $1250 rebates is only available for purchases and cannot be combined with their special financing) keeping the lease almost the same as last month.

Here is a sample calculation based on TrueCar’s Southern California sale price and do not include local taxes. Please note that your dealer calculations may vary due to local fees/taxes.

2011-12 Honda Lease Rates – November 2011

We all know the Pilot 4WD LX leases well. The problem with that is that it’s a base model which is limited in availability (and typically not very desireable). Enter the EX-L, all decked out (minus Nav and RES) with your usual creature comforts. As you can see in the calculation below, it is still one heck of a lease. I have yet to see another 7-seater that chimes in at under $400 before taxes, with just inception fees at signing. I’m not big on the Pilot’s looks (or any current Honda for that matter), but the rates are friendly, the discounts are big and the lease program is one-of-a-kind.

Here is a sample calculation based on TrueCar’s Southern California sale price and do not include local taxes. Please note that your dealer calculations may vary due to local fees/taxes.

2012 Acura Lease Rates – November 2011

I’m not seeing the extra $500 dealer cash (seen last month) on the TL this month, but the $1250 incentive is still there. Despite the missing $500 incentive, the overall sale price seems to have dropped on the TL according to Truecar.com’s So Cal pricing data. Factor that into the newer (better) residuals/mf combo and you get a lower monthly payment than last month! By about $6. Happy Holidays to you too!

Here is a sample calculation based on TrueCar’s Southern California sale price and do not include local taxes. Please note that your dealer calculations may vary due to local fees/taxes.

2012 ACURA TL BASE
MSRP – $36,490

2012 ACURA TSX Base
MSRP – $30,695
Sale Price – $29,403
Monthly – $342+ tax

I think I’d take the TL over the TSX for a measly $9 more a month.

2012 Mercedes-Benz Lease Rates – November 2011

This month’s MB numbers look decent. I’m not seeing any rebates on the C250 on Edmunds this month, but the lease rates look better than usual. The average discount on TrueCar for the SoCal region is about 5% off MSRP, which isn’t all that great. However, you can get 7% off MSRP if you opt for the European Delivery program. This might be a good option if you’ve been itching for an European vacation and couldn’t find an excuse, until now.

The following information about the European Delivery option was taken from Edmunds.com:

Mercedes-Benz European Delivery Program is availables to customers who take delivery of a new vehicle in Germany. European Delivery Program includes 7% discount off total vehicle MSRP (excluding AMG models), One night’s hotel accommodations in one of 14 luxurious hotels, MBUSA personal travel concierge service for hotel and airline reservations, breakfast or lunch at the Sindelfingen Delivery Center restaurant, two taxi coupons for ride from airport or main railroad station to the Delivery Center or hotel, Sindelfingen factory tour, Two tickets to Mercedes-Benz Museum, Full tank of fuel, 15 days European road insurance, vehicle destination and delivery charge is waived, Conveyance from 12 European drop-off points to port of shipment, Marine insurance, Return shipment to U.S. port, VPC processing, transportation to selling/delivering dealer, 10% dealer commission.

2012 Audi Lease Rates – November 2011

No huge changes this month. Just the expect residual drop on some models and mf adjustments to keep payments hovering around the same ballpark. The one significant are of improvement is the $1500 in loyalty cash AND a leasing bonus of $750 for returning customers on the 2012 Audi A4. Correction: The $1500 is only available for purchase, while the $750 is available for leasing. As a result, the deal isn’t nearly as good as it could have been. Thanks to Ron for catching this.  These offers are good through January 4th, 2012 so you have roughly two months to figure to figure out what you want (Nov rates should remain the same through the end of the year). If you are loyal to your brand, you stand to save a substantial decent amount compared to folks such as myself (I am not loyal to any brand). Check out my sample calculation below for an example of what to expect on the Audi A4 Quattro Premium.

2012 Volkswagen Lease Rates – November 2011

VW numbers are kind of “blah” this month. lower residuals are pretty much across the board. Money factors didn’t exactly drop to compensate either. Check out last month’s numbers here. To make matters worse, no lease cash on anything! So is there a silver lining in all of this? Yes there is. 0% to 1.9% financing for up to 60 months for select models. No lease can beat 0% financing. Period.

2011-12 BMW Lease Rates – November 2011

As expected BMW residuals have dropped and MFs have been lowered in order to compensate. Expect Nov numbers to carry over into December. However, don’t be too surprised if BMWFS decides to change things mid-month. They’ve been known to do this, but it isn’t done frequently. Looking at the BMW 328i sedan, You will see a slight drop in the sale price, plus you can get a $1000 loyalty rebate if you are a returning customer. There is also a $1500 Build Out rebate. I am not sure what that is so please ask your dealer for details. Remember to head over to Edmunds.com for more information on rebates.

Bright Spots

Audi does have a lot of loyalty cash available, making the lease decent. They aren’t rated over 90, but they are in the high 80s if you manage to get aboout 10-11% off MSRP with the loyalty cash. Worth a shot if you are shopping for one.

BMW and Acura also has a few cars with high 80 ratings (TSX, 1 and 3 series) If you are willing to pay a bit extra for your lease, they might be worth a look.

The Nissan Leaf has terrible lease rates, but the rebate ($7500) is so huge that it makes the car a decent lease. Obviously, there are limitations to this car and it may not be for everyone. However, if your commute is short (and limited), this car may be for you. Leasing it at 10,000 per year (it’s got limited range anyway) should help keep the payments low.

Weak Spots

VW leases stink. Not only does VW make it tough for people wanting to trade-in their VW (before lease end), they also don’t discount much off their cars. The only glimmer of hope lies on the Volkswagen CC Sport, but this car barely cracks a 87.1 RWG, and that’s with lease cash.

Lexus is also a disappointment. Leases are not very attractive on 2012 models. 2011 are getting a lot of incentives right now so if you plan to lease a Lexus, try to find a 2011 model.

In Summary

Once again, the Round-Up is being dominated by Nissan/Infiniti and Honda/Acura. Despite very good competition, I have to give Honda the edge since the CrossTour is an excellent lease right now. It’s not a pretty car, but you can’t deny how good the lease is.

On a side note, I have this ongoing theory that the reason why the CrossTour gets so much lease support is because it’s a tough sell without it. Your thoughts?
