2012-13 Audi Lease Rates – July 2012

Summer of Audi is looking better with some drops in money factor. Residual changed on some models, but for more mainstream ones like the A4, the residual remains the same. Looking over TrueCar sales data from last month, it looks like invoice + incentives ($1000 loyalty) is attainable. If you aren’t an existing Audi customer, hovering around invoice or slightly below that should be your max sale price.

Here is a sample calculation based on TrueCar’s Southern California sale price and do not include local taxes. Please note that your dealer calculations may vary due to local fees/taxes.

2012-13 Mercedes Benz Lease Rates – July 2012

Very minor changes this month. You probably won’t notice much. Slight bump in MF here and a reduction there, but that’s about it. With my C250 coupe calculation below, I am going to go with invoice. However, I do feel that going under it should not be terribly difficult. On a side note, the C sedan does get $1000 in loyalty cash, so that might be an incentive for those of you willing to go with a 4-door instead of two.

2012-13 BMW Lease Rates – July 2012

Took me a while, but finally found the time to get some numbers posted. BMW dropped the residual and MF across the board. I think the residual drop was much more dramatic than I expected. I usually expect about 2-3%, but I’m seeing up to 5% on some models, YICKES! Anyway, in the calculation below, I am using the usual $500 over invoice sale price that’s been a common theme for BMWs in the past. I’m not seeing any incentives with 2012s on Edmunds, but that may be because 2013s are out (those have $750 loyalty and $1000 college grad). May be wise to check if there are any incentives on the 2012s because that should drop the payments a bit more.

2012-13 Nissan Lease Rates – June 2012

Sorry for the delay with the Nissan numbers. Cut my finger last weekend so typing was rather painful. Work was also a bit overwhelming this week so the blog sort of was left in the back burner. Anyway, you still have a solid week to cut deals on the Altima, which should still be getting a lot of discounts right now. 2013 model is officially out and it looks expensive. Residual is pretty nice though. Curious as to what the 2013 Altima leases for this month? TrueCar suggests that their dealers are offering the 2013 Altima S for about 4% off MSRP. Using that assumption, please see calculation below. If you are a recent college graduate, knock off another $500.

2012 Honda Lease Rates – June 2012

Not a lot of changes with Honda lease rates this month. Everything look about the same as last month. The Accord is getting a refresh soon (Hyundai, Toyota, Nissan have already done so), so expect the current Accord to be the last of it’s generation. This typically means good deals can be had through the model year (i.e. $1250 dealer cash). Below, I did a very “conservative” estimate of Invoice – $1250 dealer cash. My recommendation is to make an initial offer that is lower than my estimate and go no further than invoice – dealer cash.

2012-13 Hyundai Lease Rates – June 2012

2012 model lease rates remain unchanged. 2013 don’t look half bad either. The numbers for the Azera are out and they look average. If you compared it to the Lexus ES350, they aren’t too far off from each other. A couple things to be aware of though; Hyundai has bumped the prices to many of their 2013 models significantly. Sure, they remain well equipped, but the price gap between comparable models seems to be dwindling. See stories below:

2013 Hyundai Equus Officially Hits $60,000 Mark, Thanks To Price Hike
2013 Hyundai Elantra Gets Price Hike
2013 Hyundai Accent Gets $2,000 Price Increase

So there you have it, expect to pay more for a Hyundai going forward.

I have mixed feelings because I feel it is a little too early in the game to be jacking up the prices by the thousands (about two years ago, I would have never considered leasing a Hyundai).  Will I get another Hyundai after my Sonata? Probably, but the price advantage is slowly disappearing, which may dissuade me from getting another one down the road.

2012-13 Lexus Lease Rates – June 2012

No notable changes from May except that the 2013 RX numbers are out. According to TrueCar actual sales data, a lot of people paid around MSRP for their IS250 (in my area). Apparently, they weren’t reading my blog. Haahaa. Last month’s incentives seem to have carried over for the IS250, that means Lexus is still paying for your first payment, up to $700. There is also a 27-month lease being promoted, but I don’t have details on that.

Below, you will find a sample calculation for the IS250. My assumption is that you are leasing the car at invoice + $1000 loyalty + the full $700 first month payment credit. If your dealer won’t give you the full $700 as cap deduction, then expect the payments to go up a little. Of course, you can always offset that by asking for a below invoice sale price + incentives.

2012-13 Volkswagen Lease Rates – June 2012

Numbers look improved this month compared to last month. 39-month leases are available for the Jettas and GLI. Overall, I like the reduction in MF for many of the models. I’m also seeing some lease cash being thrown in there to sweeten the deals. It’s looking good if you are looking to lease a VW this month!
