09 Mercedez Benz E-Class Lease Rates – March 2009

logo_benzMy Take: The E-Class Mercs are excellent candidates for “Lease To Buy”. They feature a low residual value and a low money factor, meaning most of your payments will be going towards the car, not the interest rate. If you want low upfront payments, reasonable monthly payments and an option to not buy the car at lease end, this car just might be for you. There is a whopping $6000 in dealer cash available and 0.9% financing for up to 66 months for the E350. What’s even cooler is that you can combine both of them. For leasing, there’s $4000 lease cash available from MBF (Remember that for Mercs, you want to go with the 48-month leases for the lowest possible payments) Personally, I really like the E-Class since it’s luxurious, spacious and one of the better luxury family sedans out there.

09 Lexus GS, RX Lease Rates – March 2009

logo_lexusMy Take: I would strongly caution lessees to stay away from the RX350 this month because the numbers don’t look very good. The GS looks ok, but the residual values are too low. It could be a good “lease to buy” candidate, but the money factor would have to be slightly lower. Without incentives, I would recommend most people simply pass on both the GS and RX this month.

09 Nissan Maxima Lease Rates – March 2009

logo_nissanMy Take: The money factor isn’t very strong on the Maxima this month but the residual is still fairly high so it isn’t too bad. There is $750 dealer cash, so be sure to factor that into your negotiations. Still, LESSEE BEWARE! The payments are not very cheap so be sure to check out other comparable cars such as the V6 models of the Accord/Camry and maybe even the G37 and the Acura TL.

CA DMV Registration Doubles May 19th

Effective May 19th, 2009, California’s DMV registration will double. In my case, I will be paying upwards of almost $600 a year for my car. This will also affect new car registrations, meaning your lease inception fees will go up as well. This is onto top of the wonderful 1% sales tax hike the state has imposed, which will take effect April 1st, 2009. If you are a California and plan on leasing something, doing so before May 19th could save you a few hundred bucks up front. If you plan on buying, I would try to beat the April 1st deadline so you can avoid the tax increase.

09 Infiniti FX Lease Rates – March 2009

logo_infinitiMy Take: There is around $3000 dealer cash available on the FX35 this month, so factor that into your negotiations. The rates are practically unchanged, so it isn’t any better than last months. Now, couple of things for you California residents. Our sales tax goes up April as I mentioned in a previous post, but our car registrations will ALSO go up (double) beginning May 19th. To top things off, we’re rasing our gasoline tax by another 12 cents. So yeah, think long and hard as to what car and when you plan to lease your next ride. We’re talking hundreds of dollars in savings if you pick the right one.

09 Acura TSX, TL Lease Rates – March 2009

logo_acuraMy Take: Good New! The TSX payments dropped a little due to the lower money factor. Also, don’t forget the $750 dealer cash available on this car. The TL also got a money factor reduction, but also get dinged on the residual (1-2% on the 36+ month terms). Basically the 24-month lease got cheaper, but the 36-month ones are a few dollars more. Nothing astronomical, but worth noting. You do get $1000 dealer cash on the TL, so be sure to factor that into your negotiations.

RIDE with G Turns One…and Gets a Facelift

2point0
Believe it or not, it has been almost one year since I started RIDE with G. Time flies, doesn’t it? After bouncing around from one domain/server to another for a few months, I decided to pony up some cash to pay for my own domain and hosting…then BLAM! (I can’t use BAM! since Emeril took it, I think he trademarked it too, that bastard. LOL!) RIDE with G was born. Funny how I just wanted to blog about “my quest for the cheapest lease” last year…next thing I know, I’m helping thousands of people every month with their leases and saving them a crap load of money. Heck, I even helped someone negotiated a deal on her ’08 G35 via email all the way in NY! (Karolina, I’m still waiting for those pics of the G35 you promised. LOL.)

If you are a new reader, you probably didn’t notice anything unusual about the site. Now, if you are a long-timer, you’ll notice that the site has gone through quite a bit of “remodeling” over the past year. Lets just say I couldn’t make up my mind so  I just did something quick to get the site up and running. Now, to celebrate RIDE with G’s first year anniversary, I decided to re-brand the entire site (contrary to popular belief, I am not a car salesman. I am a designer that loves cars and enjoys leasing.). This one is a keeper, so you should not see anymore drastic changes. Hope you ladies and gentlemen enjoy the new look, because it’s here to stay! Couple things, you will notice the new “banner ads”…sorry folks, this is necessary in order to keep the site “self-sufficient”. I will try to limit it to just a few spots and the usual text ads so this site doesn’t turn into an ad-fest. Trust me, I hate them as much as you do.

Last bit of news…

DEALERPLACE is still in the works, however, it is taking some time to gather a good crop of dealers. Apparently some of them are a bit gun-shy about participating. I guess having me tell readers to shoot for invoice doesn’t help. Haahaa. Still, with the way the auto industry is right now, you would THINK free ad space would be something that would fetch some interest. Maybe the whole “Honesty/Straight-forwardness/Courtesy” is too much to ask for? LOL.

Thank you all for your support in the past year. I hope I was able to help you save a ton of money and maybe teach you a thing or two about leasing.

Special Shout Out to my peeps on the Wall. I thank you for sharing the pics of your rides.

Let us hope that leasing stays strong for 2009!

09 Audi A6 Lease Rates – March 2009

logo_audiMy Take: No real incentives here on the A6, so you’ll have to rely on your might negotiation skills to get the deal you want. In my opinion, the A6 is more of a “lease to buy” candidate due to the low residual/low money factor combination. As I mentioned in the CL/CLK/CLS post, when most of your payments go towards the depreciation of a vehicle instead of the interest, you probably want to consider buying the car out at the end of your lease. You don’t have to, but it’s just a suggestion if you would like a “break” from lease payments.
