2013 Mercedes-Benz Lease Rates – March 2013

Oddly enough, MB decided to raise the residual and drop the money factors this month, effectively making February worse than January and March. That’s a slightly odd strategic approach, but who I am to question their thought process. Anyway, I’m really eager to see what the numbers on the CLA will look like once it comes out. If they don’t look too bad, I just might switch out my Sonata by year-end. I have been increasingly disappointed with my Hyundai over the last couple of months. Last Friday, after I parked my car, the dashboard kept flashing and beeping saying that I did not have my keys with me (they were in my pocket). I had to restart the car and shut it off again in order to turn off the headlights and lock my doors. The car has 20,000 miles and is less than two years old…go figure.

  1. The mercedes dealership is quoting me a different Money Factor for March of 2013 than what is published on this webiste for the C350 4matic 2 door Coupe. How can I verify the rates?

  2. I think CLA will sell like a hotcake initially so they wont support the lease much. It will canibalize the lower end C class. So if you are interested in benz, i d watch for it too if i were you. I know thay you like vw cc too. Who knows if CLA would even attract CC potential buyers and makes the lease even more attractive.

    • Oh yeah, my goal is to get the wife into a Benz. She’s been wanting one for a while so the C will definitely be in my wishlist. The CC definitely is on the list, but I will be avoiding Hyundais and Kias this time around.

  3. I’ve used your site many times and always found your mfs to be spot on. Thanks! However, I have 2 different dealers telling me the wholesale MF for the GL450 in March is .00205. I tell them that was February’s rate and it dropped to .00160 this month and they’re telling me I have it backwards. Thoughts?

    • Alan, I can’t tell you for sure whether those two dealers are correct or not. Try a broker to see if they can get the car for .00160 instead of .00205. If they also say it’s .00205, then chances are the numbers I got this month may be wrong.

  4. Hi G,
I am in the EXACT same situation as you. Hyundai Sonata 2.0T, lease for which is completed in November. I am getting kinda tired of it, and irritated with the electronic quirks. Looking forward to the CLA lease reates myself – in particular the CLA 45 AMG.

My question is your experience with AMG lease rates, how would they compare with the numbers overall for their non-AMG counterparts based upon historical numbers for other models, say the C 63 AMG or something.

    • Hi Nabeel. You the Sonata doesn’t have much in terms of personality. As for AMGs, generally, not very good leases. The residual is typically not very high and there isn’t much in terms of MF discounts. I wouldn’t lease an AMG personally.

      • Thanks for the info. When cars are released, please do try and get the AMG numbers if you are able to so that I can consider it. Otherwise, the CLA itself won’t be a bad option I suppose.

  5. Hi G,

If you wouldn’t lease an AMG, you are left with buying it? I am interested in the new 2014 E63 and looking to determine the most economically attractive way to get in to the vehicle. Let us know your thoughts. …and thank you for all the great info.

    • I would consider buying an AMG if it was on discount. AMGs haven’t been known to lease well. If you dig back a few years (when I had some AMG numbers), you’ll notice very little in terms of lease support for those cars.
