  1. I am waiting for a 2013 328xi, should be delivered in a week or 2.
I negotiated Invoice PLUS 500, and then get -1000 for Drive USA and -750 for loyalty.
However, my dealer is quoting me $925 aquisition fee, where I think it should be $725. He is also adding on MACO 225, Training Fee 180, DocFee 199, and CapFee 325.
    Are these all legit?

    Thanks, great website you have

    • Hey Rus. For BMW, the acquisition is $725. That is what it says on the BMW website, so I don’t see why you would need to pay anymore. MACO and Training are common fees, some dealers have waived it, others stick to their guns and won’t budge. I personally have no clue what they are for, but I have have heard it’s a fee the manufacturers charge the dealer for regional advertising or some to that nature. Ford does this and dealers pass it on to customers. Doc fee varies depending on where you live. In CA it is capped at $55, other states can go up to $300-$500. Some states’ DMV regulates this, so that is why you will see different fees for dealer doc. CapFee I have never heard of. Could be a new thing, I’d ask about that. Again, shop around. Even if you ordered a car, until the bank approves your loan, all the documents are signed AND take delivery, you can still change your mind and go elsewhere w/o penalty.

  2. Thanks for the input

I have paid nonrefundable $1000 deposit on ordering , so I am probably stuck with this dealer

Having to preorder a car jeapordises one’s negotoating power, unfortunately

Thanks for a wonderful website, your lease numbers and money factors are so useful

  3. Hi G,

SF Bay Area dude here. My sister-in-law wants to purchase (not lease) a new 328xi Sedan.

Do you have a BMW internet sales manager you recommend, anywhere on the West Coast?

I’m planning on shopping around to find the best price from So Cal to Oregon. Any additional advice appreciated. I’m expecting a 7% discount off MSRP based on Truecar estimates.

    • Brian, the contact I had at BMW no longer works there. I think had moved to Benz when I last talked to him. But that was a few years ago. If you plan to shop down here though, I would say try Long Beach BMW, Buena Park BMW, Crevier BMW & Irvine BMW. I would stay away from BMW Santa Monica. A friend of mine got totally fleeced there.

  4. G, I was wondering if you had res and MF for Nov on the 13 640i coupe. Just went to contract, and want to make sure the dealer isn’t trying to rob me (more than usual).

    Thanks!

    • Sorry DC. My source in NY was hit by hurricane Sandy. They are working on getting things back to normal so I suspect I might not get the numbers for a while longer. The only numbers I managed to get were from Honda.

  5. Hey G, Do you happen to know the residual and mf for a ’13 ActiveHybrid 5?

    Thanks
    awesome site.

  6. Hey guys, I leased a 2013 328i last month with a lease factor of .00164. I asked the dealer if that was the same lease factor that BMW was advertising.. he said YES. Doesn’t seem right looking at current lease factors. I am curious if anyone knows the September lease factor for exceptional credit rating customers promoted by BMW.
