2012-13 Volkswagen Lease Rates – August 2012

2013 lease rates are out for pretty much all VWs with the exception of the Routan. They look pretty good too! Love the numbers on the CC personally. Would love to get one if I didn’t need an SUV to haul crap. Unfortunately I do and the CC only has 4 seats. Bummer. Anyway expect the CC deal to remain crazy good for the remainder of the month. I wouldn’t be surprised if it looks good for the remainder of the year! Good discounts, good incentives ($2500 instead of $2000), good MF. That spells a good deal. Don’t forget about the 0% financing too! Nothing beats an interest-free loan. The 0.00001 MF comes close though.

    • Thanks for mentioning it. I checked it out and I was pleasantly surprised. I think that’s awesome, buy I have to wonder how the CC will affect Passat sales in the long term now that they are both 5-seaters.

  1. Has anyone seen lease figures for a Touareg TDI? Any clue what the residual is on those after 36 months and 15k miles/year? Given the demand for diesels these days, it’s got to be higher than the V6 version, right?

  2. G’s sample lease for the CC Sport Plus is very do-able.

Today I signed for 36 mos. / 12K per year @ $345 per month plus Pa sales/lease tax, $0 out of pocket.

Thanks for the information G, makes the process a lot easier.

  3. G, I’m in the market for a new SUV myself, preferably one that is fuel efficient too. What’s your take on the 2012 Tiguan? Would this be worth leasing? Any tips on getting the best deal? Any other good potential SUV lease candidates you’d recommend? I like the new Subaru Outback but the leases don’t seem strong.

    • Warren, I actually like the Tiguan. It’s one of the beefier compact SUVs on the market, but fuel economy is so-so for it’s size. Imagine the Pilot does 25 (Tiguan does 26) on the highway and sits 8! plus The Tiguan being a turbo, probably does worse if you put regular unleaded in it. Something to consider. CR-V should be a good option but it’s probably not nearly as fun to drive. Have you thought about the Forrester? It’s lease rates usually better than the Outback. 2012 RAV4 shouldn’t be too bad either but their numbers are regional so I can’t confirm how good they are. Anyway, I got VW numbers lat night so will post them soon. Unfortunately, I typically only have Tiguan S 4motion lease numbers so that’s probably not a model your wife would like (base model). The SE would probably drop in residual value. BTW, didn’t you get a MINI Cooper some time ago? Is that lease coming up?

  4. I agree the Tiguan is nice but the fuel economy could be better as you elude to. Not stellar by any means but much better than my Dodge Durango I’m selling privately. I thought about the CR-V which might be a good option, but quite frankly was blown away by the 2013 Outback. The handling is outstanding. Feels like sports car handling in an SUV. I’d actually prefer the AWD so the Tiguan 4Motion is right up my alley. I’ll have to look into the Forester as well, that might be a possibility. I was also quite impressed with the 2013 Ford Escape. Ford has really stepped it up on this one. Test drove it recently and it’s right up there with the Outback. Yes, I did have a MINI and that lease was up in 2010. I’ve had my Durango since 2006 and it’s great for hauling tons of stuff but I’m looking for the all in one solution for cargo capacity and fuel economy
