2012 BMW Lease Rates – June 2012

I am not seeing any noteworthy changes this month. If you were using last month’s numbers to estimate your payments, congratulations, you weren’t far off. Incentives from last month should remain for most models as well.

On the 328i, TrueCar indicates that most people are playing no more than $500 over invoice. That would be the target price I would recommend. Ideally, I’d shoot for lower and go no higher than $500 over invoice.

Here is a sample calculation based on TrueCar’s Southern California sale price and do not include local taxes. Please note that your dealer calculations may vary due to local fees/taxes.

2012 BMW 328i Sedan
MSRP – $35,795
Sale Price – $34,100
Monthly – $438+ tax
RWG Rating – 83.9

  1. FYI, I ordered a 2013 X3 early last month for delivery this month. I asked for an update as I’m a week away from delivery and my quote now .00185 Money Factor for June, same residuals.

  2. I am in the market for a new car and want to confirm that I have negotiated and found the best deal possible for a 2012 x5 diesel.

Here’s what I’d like your opinion:

    2012 X5 diessel

    36 month lease
    15,000 miles per year
    $698.00 per month
$995.97 Total amount due on signing

    56% residual, .00175 money factor
    MSRP $62,145
    Cap Cost $52,795.00

    2012 X5 d

Cold Weather Package, Premium Package, Running boards

Do you think this is best deal around (NY/NJ/CT)?

  3. Hi G,

I sent a quote to a dealer in the DFW area with 1000 over ED Invoice and below is his reply. Looks like they want to treat ED as their own allotment and maximize profit with a marked up MF. What do you think?

I appreciate the offer, and I certainly understand why you would offer such a low price. If I was in your shoes I would offer a low number as well. However, your offer is not acceptable.
The discount on a Euro Delivery is 7% off the MSRP, $42,800.00 = $39,855.00. Then you add the options at MSRP. Your price will be $46,075.00 plus TT&L, which is a discount of $2,945.00.
You are also a bit premature on your money factor and residual, since BMW has not posted them yet for the 2013.
We also do not give the buy rate from BMW, so your money factor will be .0004 higher than whatever the posted money factor is.
If you accept these terms, we can move forward. If not, I understand.

    • I think ED discount is typically fixed, although I think it’s a bit odd they take 7% off MSRP then add options. The markup is not uncommon, but that doesn’t mean you have to pay that. Some dealers will give you buy rate, you just have to ask around. Have you cross-shopped with another dealer?

    • I’d suggest visiting bimmerfest and talking with a board sponsor. You can get $500-750 over ED invoice easily. And then do something fun like have the car sent to NC for the performance delivery center. Seriously, that dealer sounds awful.

    • This is the reason I dislike dealers in Dallas and have never dealt with them. The arrogance is simply unbelievable. I go down to Beaumont at BMW of Beaumont to get my cars – the last 3 leases have been through them. This year I am contemplating an Euro Delivery through Adrian Avila at BMW of North Atlanta – hands down one of the best Euro Delivery dealers in the country. Just Google his name. I offered him $1K over invoice and he accepted with no MF markup, no ridiculous documentation fee, no markup on the acquisition fee….

      • Thank You all for the replies. A dealer in OKC agreed to the $1000 over invoice but he says the following which I’ve not heard of before. I contacted Adrian Avila but I’m checking to see if I can find some one closer. I’ve contacted BMW of Beaumont and waiting for a reply.

BMW Financial will not accept the Lease with a European Delivery at the 0.0019 money factor they charge the .0003 more because they will make your 2nd payment for you. No dealer in the country can accept a European Delivery without those conditions it’s set forth by BMW Financial.

        • This is correct. I’ve done a ED and there is an adder 0f .0003 to the MF. They pay your 2nd lease payment.

If you want the best deal possible contact Ryan Amico at Steve Thomas BMW (west coast) or David Aviles (east Coast). They will give you a no hassle quote at bottom dollar. They work in volume and have many loyal customers.

  4. The MF markup on ED is valid (.00030); however, you can do 7 multiple security deposits down to bring that down (7*.00007=.00049). My client advisor at BMW of Beaumont is Sebastian Olszewski (solszewski@bmwofbeaumont.com). He is on vacation till Tuesday next week but I recommend you deal with him if you are reaching out to them. Willing to chat over email or phone if you need any help.

    • Thanks Ahmed, I’ll contact Sebastian immediately. I would like to finalize and get the order in by the next weekend. How much is a security deposit?

      • Security deposit is the value of your monthly payment rounded up to the next whole $50 increment; e.g. if your monthly payment is $651 your security deposit is $700. If your monthly payment is $649 then your security deposit is $650.

  5. Hey Sam,

Did you finalize your ED? I’m trying to figure out if I should do an ED(my first) on the new X1, also live in Dallas and heard it’s really bad here. Thinking of reaching out to Adrian, but Atlanta is quite a drive. Looking for someone closer for a ED invoice+. Let me know what you ended up doing.

  6. Hello G,
I decided to cross-shop the Touareg TDI with the X5 35d, and here is what I was offered:
    2012 X5 35d, MSRP 65195.
    Total cap cost $56334.80 ($58571 sale price + 725 acquisition – $2961.20 CCR)
    36 months, 12k miles / year, 59% residual, 0.00195 MF
    Total driveoff $4500, monthly pymt $734.04 ($681.24 + 52.80 tax).
    What do you think?
    THANKS!!

    • I don’t like the cap reduction quite honestly. I also think you can shave another $1k off the sale price.

      • Thank you!
I had doubts as well after running a quote through theautoleasecalculator.com and was somehow yielding this payment without a $4500 driveoff. I will let you know what the dealer says to this.

        • Ok, here is the latest:

I’m told the eco credit applies to the before-tax price, whereas the loyalty rebate is after taxes. Go figure :-/

I’m getting the $4500 eco credit, and the $1500 loyalty; sales price offered is $1k over invoice -> $61571 less $4500 = $57071 ($3500 below invoice overall which still gives the dealer a $1k profit).

Rate is still .00195, residual 59% (10k miles /year), $1500 loyalty applies to the driveoff, meaning it is actually $3k not $4500 as I’ve previously thought.
So, the payment is now $700.76/mo.

Any recommendations? Should I press for another $500 off? Thanks!!

  7. Hi David,

Sorry for the late reply. I was supposed to get email notifications but that’s not happening. I did finalize on an ED for 335i and sent out a pre-reservation last Friday. I’m still waiting for the available delivery dates from BMW and surprised how long it takes them to respond. I’m not sure how long it will take them to send out the paperwork once I accept a date. I guess I just need to be patient.

I tried all I could with the Dallas area dealers but it was just a waste of time. I got two bimmers from classic before but they are not interested in helping me out with an invoice+ deal on my ED. I’m never going back to them and would never refer them to anyone.

I talked to Adrian of south atlanta and he was very responsive and accepted my invoice+ offer. I thought I’ll try someone closer first and an OKC dealer agreed to the same offer and I’m going through him. I would not vouch for him yet until I see my car at Welt. I’ll keep you posted if you like.

    Good luck..

  8. Hey Sam,

What do you think your delivery date will be around? End of Sept?
Also, can you give me the name of the sales guy you are dealing with and the dealership name? Thanks! OKC is much closer! Only a 3.5hr Drive, No flight needed.

    David

    • Hey David,

To my surprise, BMW took about 12 days to get back on the available dates but they confirmed Aug 13 two days ago. I need to get the Purchase Order sent to BMWNA ASAP which they need to have at least 30 days ahead of the scheduled delivery date (for registration and insurance in EU). After I get the PO receipt confirmation, I’ll start making travel plans and there is not much time to do that.

I was told that all Aug dates are taken and if you are shooting for Sept delivery, you need to start the process right away. Below is my dealer info. He is doing ED invoice+$1000 with 7MSDs. No markup on MF or acquisition fee. Pretty much the same deal as with Adrian of South Atlanta but 1/3 the driving distance. Let me know if you have any questions. One suggestions is to decide on finance or lease before you contact him.

  9. Thanks Sam! Will keep them in mind when if I go with the X1. Hopefully they will do a good ED Invoice+ price!

  10. Hi G,

Can you please post July 2012 Lease Program. As far as I know, the numbers are out already.

    Thanks in advance.

  11. Msrp minus 14 percent. When the z4 deal was out i got a z4 for 700 below ed invoice! I pay 269 a month for a z4 i euro delivered

Find another dealer sam! Dfw dealer seem greedy. Also what People do not realize is u can get new car lease rates on demos. I had a 335 for 200 a month x3 for 90 dollars a month. Other z4 for 200 a month. Demos w low mileage can make steals as low as 77 Percent msrp 🙂 although u need low miles demos. I have gotten sick deals!p

    • David, this S guy must be an Audi owner or something, just trying to make BMW enthusiasts feel bad. I have heard of some big discounts on demos and loaners but not sure if they can be leased. Below invoice on an ED is unheard of! I have been reading so many forums and for an ED, I have not seen anything at or below ED invoice. I would believe him when I see the lease documents. For Dallas area, I feel good about getting $1000 over ED invoice. $500 over is probably good enough but my monthly payment was reasonable with $1000 over.
