Please note that the money factors below are not all incorrect. Just some of them are. If you are getting conflicting information from your dealer, just leave me a comment and I will confirm your numbers. Sorry for the inconvenience but I was asked not to “share” the numbers. UPDATE – BMW is offering $1000 cash towards the purchase or lease of a new BMW. You have to be a participant of the Drive for TEAM USA (similar to Ultimate Drive) in order to qualify. Why they don’t promote this more is beyond me. If I were a current BMW customer that is shopping for another BMW, I’d be hitting up this test drive in a heart beat! Imagine, 0.0003 MF reduction OR $1000 cash PLUS another $1000 from this test drive. SICK! Anyway, here’s the link if you would like to register: Drive for TEAM USA. I would love to do this, but the nearest dealer is 30 miles away and I’m not willing to make the drive. Specially since I’m not really in the market for a new BMW.

G,
There is talk that these numbers for July are inaccurate. I have confirmed that 335i xdrive sedan MF is 0.00185 for 36 months.
There seems to be no one willing to step up and confirm these numbers on bimmerfest.com. I’m sure someone who is a dealer can confirm.
I just leased a 335xi yesterday and can confirm the residuals, but the MFs are not all correct. I was also told .00185 for my car this month.
Hi G –
Can you confirm the Res and MF on the 2011 535 xi – I was qoted diff mf (.00175 vs .00195) and a different Res (54% vs 56%) on a 36 month lease? Thanks.
JC
@jaycee. What i have was obtained through LeaseCompare. Those are the numbers they were given by their partners. If they differ, I would recommend calling a couple more BMW dealers to confirm.
@edogg. 335xi MF is indeed .00185
@jaycee. 535xi MF is indeed .00195. I wasn’t told the residual is different, but I would go with what your dealer is saying. Seems like he/she is being upfront with you.
Thanks for the update – great site!
Can you share the residual and money factors for the 2011 328i in MD or VA? 365 month at 10, 12 or 15K miles per year/
THX
Sorry meant 36 month
What is the July MF and Residual for a 335i sedan? Thanks!
@Matthew. Residual values are as posted. Add 2% for 12k and 3% for 10k miles per year. Money factor for the 328i is .00190, not .00175.
@AR. residual value is as posted. MF is .00190, not .00175.
Both vehicles have $750 lease cash, but the 335i has $1,305 in option credit. Not exactly sure what that is though.
If you are an existing BMW customer, you can get a reduction of .00030 on your MF.
I have the correct Numbers from BMW NA, how can i get in contact with you?
@john. You can email me at g(at)ridewithg.com.
Thank you G!
G,
Thanks for the info…can you confirm 535 sedan for South Florida? Seems that they are telling me .0019, not .00175. Thanks
Oops. Meant to say .00195 vs. .00175. I think that .00195 is correct. Please confirm. Thanks.
@JS. .00195 is correct. There is a Navi credit of $1,730. Residual of 56%.
Hey G,
Are the numbers correct for z4 3.0i in the NYC region?? What is the loyalty reduction or mf reduction this month?? thanks.
@z4ny. Z4 3.0i numbers are correct. Please note that the 24 month lease is actually a SMOKING deal right now, which is why BMW will extend it through the end of next month. By the way, the 5-year loan on this is only 1.9%, so that’s not bad either. Not seeing any lease cash on this ride though.
For loyalty reductions you are looking at a drop in MF of 0.00030 OR $1000 cash. If you choose to buy, you can drop your interest rate by 1%.
Another cool tip: Register for Drive for Team USA (Similar to Drive for a Cure) and you can received a $1000 rebate after your participation. https://www.bmwusa.com/secured/content/forms/DriveTeamUSA.aspx
Thanks for quick response, is the loyalty good for next mont as well? I have a Ed in sept and need to sign in late august. Does the 1000 dollars get applied as a downpayment essentially?
Thanks
z4NY
@Z4ny. Loyalty reductions are effective through 8/31. I do not anticipate BMW rates to change next month, but the sale prices could change. $1000 can be applied any way you want really, but it is generally applied towards the inception fees. You have to pay taxes on that.
About to pull the trigger on a 2012 X6 35i here in Northern California. First BMW so trying to get the best deal possible, and was wondering if the MF that you posted was accurate for CA? Any other suggestions on how much normal monthly payment should be for this car would be great and any other helpful tips. Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks again.
@maz. 2012 X6 35i is 58% and .00195 MF for 36mo/15k term. Your payments really depends on what you can lock down as your sale price. TrueCar is showing 5% off MSRP as the best price in SoCal right now. I would shoot to go slightly below that but nothing beyond 5% off MSRP./
I am looking at the 335i coupe in TX. I received a MF of .00235 from the dealer, but lease compare says .00245 for 36 mo, 10k mi, 63% residual. Your MF is .00175 for 15k mi a year, 60% residual. Am I seeing this correctly?
Thanks in advance!
@RMP. 335i coupe is .00180 base rate and 63% residual for 36mo/10k. You are getting jacked. Did you have your credit run already? Why is the dealer padding it so much?
I am sorry, the 36 mo, 10k mi, and 63% is what the dealer gave me. Lease compare is for 12k mi and not sure about residual.
The residuals on the Z4 look strong these days. Would these be accurate in the Socal market? Also wondering if any lease loyalty would apply since I previously leased a MINI. Also, would you have any residual/MF numbers for the MINI as well?
@wh. the rates should be country-wide. I think Tarry of LeaseCompare messed up on this month’s numbers. I had two other folks provide me with the correct numbers last week. I was asked not to “post” them, so I’m just taking requests right now.
I got nothing on the MINIs at the moment. Are you currently a MINI customer? If you so, you should qualify for the loyalty. The loyalty program is pretty good I think. They are also waiving security deposits!
Hey G,
What are the credit tiers for BMW? How much is the bump in MF between the tiers?
Thanks
@Gene. Top tier is anything 675 or higher. The bump is +.00020 per tier.
675 or greater
640-674 .base + 00020
601-639 base + .00040
600 or less – base + .00060
Looking for confirmation of the 36 month MF and Residual for the 2012 X5M as .00195 (rather than the listed .00175) and 53%…
@JD. Residual is correct. MF is .00195.
^12k/yr
@G
Can a dealer ask for a bump from a 3 to a 2 or 2 to a 1? or is it just black and white?
(as in credit tier)
@jake. Not 100% sure what you mean by the dealer asking, but I’ll answer your question two ways:
Credit tiers increases are pretty much b/w. It’s the base rate that can change. For example, the dealer could tell you that the Tier 1 base rate is 0.00200 instead of 0.00180. Then, when your credit is run and they determine that it’s a Tier 2, they could add the 0.0002 penalty on top of that.
Now, if you are referring to the dealer bumping your up one tier, I don’t think that can be done. They could tell you that they can, but don’t be too surprised if they call you back a week later and tell you the bank didn’t approve it and they have to make “adjustments” to your lease agreement. Remember that lease contracts aren’t finalized the day you sign. The bank still needs to approve it and it could take a few days. I personally wouldn’t sign on something based on “vague” promises.
Looking to verify 2012 X6 35i, MF and residuals for 24 & 36 month leases with 15k miles/yr for Ohio. Also, this is my 1st time leasing a BMW. What are the best rebates I can qualify for? What are final sale prices going for, on the X6, in Ohio?
@msed. residual is as posted. MF is 0.00195. see my response to Maz on the comments. You are both looking at the same car. You can check sale prices in your area by using TrueCar.com. Rebate-wise, you probably don’t qualify for any since you aren’t an existing BMWFS customer. They only have incentives for existing customers right now.
what is the Maximum security deposits(MSD)for BMW is it 9 or 11What gene said…@doug. the docs I have say nothing about the max amount of MSDs you can have. I have heard of 9, but I haven’t heard of 11. Your dealer should know more about this than I do.
Dealer quoted .00235 on 2011 535i xdrive. That cannot be right can it? Said best BMW is “allowing” is .00205 if existing BMW customer.
@FI Trader. 535xi is .00195 and you should be getting a 0.0003 discount as a returning customer, making the MF 0.00165. This dealer isn’t being totally honest with you. I recommend finding someone else.
@ Doug
You can do UP TO 7 deposits @ 0.0007 = 0.00049 total reduction.
I’m getting confused here. Any help @G?
135i for 12K miles @ 36 months is 59% and .00120.
The MSRP is $45,425 but we were offered $42380 with $2500 down would be $500.52 + tax.
I cannot for the love of God get this number in the calculator.
MSRP: $45,425
Sale Price: $42380+2500
Fee’s Rolled in: 0
Term:36
Residual: 59
Monet Factor: .00120
Sales Tax: 7.75
Miles Per Year: 12000
I’m getting $588+tax
Any help! Thanks
@Jeff. Couple of things. Since you are paying $2500 at signing, you don’t actually add that to your sale price. You only add to the sale price if you intend to “roll it” into your lease loan. Let us assuming the following…
MSRP 45425
Sale 42380
Inception fees $2000 (this includes DMV, Bank fee, dealer doc and misc stuff they charge).
Cap Cost reduction $500 (this is part of the $2500 you are paying. $2000 goes towards the inception fees and $500 pays down the sale price).
Adj Cap Cost $41880 ($42380 – $500) Plug that into the sale price instead.
Monthly $501.28 (within $1 of your quote). With 7.75% tax, you are looking at $540 per month, for a 86.1 RWG rating.
Hope that helps.
@G where do you plug in the inception fee’s. Damn you are amazing.
@Jeff. any number you add to the lease calculator is money that you want rolled into your lease. Basically, its money you are borrowing. If you plan to pay fees upfront, you don’t include it as part of your calculation. As explained in my calculation, I estimated your inception fees to be about $2000. You need to confirm that with your dealer by having them itemize it. If you don’t know what I am talking about. I recommend that you my post on how to estimate payments using my lease calculator.

@fi trader
I’ve leased 2 bmw’s in my market Boston most dealers love to add to the mf, saying it’s a little $ for the finance guys… It took me going/calling 4 stores until I found one that gave me the base rate and a clear understanding of up front fees, you ask what is the selling price? add tax reg and bank fees anything more is (profit)
I have a good Boston dealer, if anyone is interested. Been very good to me and my colleagues. Will honor base rates, if presented.
Would someone be able to verify the mf for a 2011 335i Convertible – 36 months, 18,000 miles? Thank you!
@ryan. anything above 15k miles per year needs to be calculated by your dealer. If the charge is $0.15 per mile over 15k miles per year, the dealer will take the extra 3000 miles you drive per year and multiple by $0.15. Here’s sample calculation, you will still need to consult with your dealer for a more accurate estimate.
MSRP: $30,000
Residual: 50% or $15,000.
Extra miles: 3000 per year or 9000 over 36 months.
Charge per mile: $0.15
Total charge for extra miles: $1350 (9000 x 0.15)
Adjusted residual value: $13,650 ($15,000 – $1350) or 45.5%
You can estimate this yourself by asking your dealer how much they charge per mile on leases OVER 15k miles per year.
Gotcha – So is the listed money factor correct for a 15,000 mile lease? I am in Tennessee.
@ryan. it’s .00195.
So the dealer is saying the mf is .00235 for the 15,000 mile, 36 month lease. That’s quite a high markup for one with good credit isn’t it, or is that in line with what we should expect? I think the FICO is around 720.
Thanks again!
@ryan. Looks like your dealer is padding the MF. No surprise there. BMW dealer are well know for this. I recommend looking for another dealer willing to give you the base rate since your credit is excellent.
Asking for subidized MF and residuals for BMW 550ix in NY and NY and MF for top tier credit in NY and NY.
Thanks.
@Varch. Residuals are as posted. MF is 0.00195.
Request is for New York and New Jersey.
Is the standard MF rate in NY or NJ for top tier credit different that .00195? Thanx.
@varch. .00195 is the base rate. Lowest you can have with top tier credit. If you are a returning customer, you can drop it by 0.0003 i believe.
I am getting thus offer in Texas, what do you think?
335i coupe
Msrp 47k
Discount: 2600
3000 down
36 mo, 10k/year
Payment: 510
@RPT. Deal looks alright. Are you getting a special tax exemption? I was doing a calculation for a coworker a few days ago, his loaded 328i 45k MSRP was coming up as $590 with $1000 due at signing. 36k/12k. That was quite high in my opinion. That’s with a 5% discount on the MSRP too. Yours seems pretty low even with the $3000 down.
G; much appreciated for all the help these years. question for you:
there was an earlier post re: a downward adjustment of the 535xi (’11) mf because BMW skipped the x-drive for the 528 in ’11 (I understood you had to be an existing customer looking to upgrade). do you know if dealers still are offering such a program (mine said it ended 6-mos ago), what the magnitude of the adjustment could be, and do you have to be an existing 5-series lease holder to participate? thanks again.
separately – I’m told the 2012 528xi will be out in Sept with a 4-cylinder turbo; initial base rates i understand to be 0.0018 and a 52% residual (huge drop in residuals). just fyi
@AR. This is what I know “The Loyalty Rate Reduction Program is available to current and former owners or lessees of a Model Year 2005 or newer vehicle. New MY11 or MY12 BMW must be leased or financed through BMW FS July 1, 2011 – January 2, 2012.”
Could you please verify the Money factor and residual percentage for a 2011 328xi for 3 years and 12,000 miles per year? I will lease in Maryland and have 800+ FICO score.
@andrew. what gene said is correct.
@Andrew
MF = 0.00185
Res = 63%
Incentives = $750 + $1000 (Drive BMW for Team USA Event)
If returning customer with a bmw 2005 or newer (no trade necessary), substact another 0.0003 from MF
You can look at residuals and money factors until you’re blue in the face and you still won’t have a clue what the best car lease deal is. Subventive leasing is like buying cars with incentive offers. The manufacturer gives dealer incentive and then dealer rolls it into the lease. That is why sometimes even the lowest money factors and best residual values still yield a lease payment which is significantly higher than the advertised lease specials. A while ago, our Denver newspaper published a ridiculously low lease offer on a 3-Series Bimmer. You’d never come up with a payment like that using the published Residual and Money Factor values. Just some food for thought…
Regards,
Rob
@rob. I don’t agree with your comment. I have yet to see a newspaper ad that posts a better deal than the one you can negotiate yourself. I saw your website and I see what your philosophy is. Although you and I are both trying to educate consumers on how to lease, I don’t believe your approach is the proper way to go about it. It oversimplifies the process and relies heavily on what the manufacturer suggests a “good deal” is.
With that in mind…Your comment stays. But linking back to your website does not. I don’t let competitors advertise on my website. I’m sure you wouldn’t appreciate me doing the same on your site.
G,
What is the base rate and residual on a 2012 X5 SAV Model for 36 months at 12K per year in the midwest?
And does the $1000 loyalty discount only apply if you financed through BMW financial on a 2006 BMW car? Or does it also apply if you just financed it through a different finance/bank?
@Michael.
2005 or newer……OR account with BMWFS within the last 12 months.
For those waiting for August number, I was told that July/August is the same program.
Hi G,
I’m looking for the MF for an M3 Coupe in WA.
Thanks.
@Ian. It’s .00175 for the M3
2011 335i
Offering .00230!
Seems way high. My credit is good but my wifes is 800+ and will sign. Thanks
@steve. Wow, base rate for the the 335i coupe and sedan is .00180 and .00190, respectively. To get top tier credit, you only need a 675 credit score. If you are in the 601-639 range, then they pad the MF by .0004, which is maybe how they are getting .00230 (on sedan). I hope you didn’t have your credit run yet. You probably already know this, but never have your credit run until you decide on all the terms and the car. You always check your own credit first so you know you qualify for top tier rates.
In Texas btw. Thanks
@G
Yeah switched dealers and got .00175, nothing down, 36 mos, 15k for $618. Think that is pretty good on a $50k car. Of course I did not pay 50k. Glad I found your site.
@Steve. Excellent! Glad you locked in a lower MF. I think this might be a reasonable deal. Please check back with us with the details of your lease. Thanks!
Hello,
I am in the process of leasing a 535xi with prem 1 & 2 along with Cold Weather. I was quoted $725 for 10k miles 36 months top tier and then told that i am only approved for standard and the payment would be 755 through BMWFS.
This doesn’t sound right to me.. i was upset with the jump in price and then told if i got a cosigner it would go back to top tier?? I have been leasing with BMW for years and always just got approved any feedback on this..? Eitherway i am approved its just very odd the jump in price..
Any help or feedback would be appreaciated…
What is the residual and money factor for a 2011 535xi so i can compare against what they are giving me..
Thanks
Mitch
