2011-12 Infiniti Lease Rates – June 2011

If you have been using May numbers to calculate your lease estimates, your estimates should still work this month. These aren’t the best numbers of the year, but that’s mainly due to lower residuals and the residual effect of the tsunami/earthquake in Japan. I do not expect availability to improve until at least September. To be honest, I think it might be more like Dec 2011/Jan 2012. Nevertheless, Infiniti is still one of the best luxury brands to lease from right now because their payments are very affordable (for a luxury brand).

If you notice below, sale prices have gone up a bit (due to limited availability) compared to last month. The longer you wait, the more expensive it’s probably going to get.

Here is a sample calculation based on TrueCar’s Southern California sale price and do not include local taxes. Please note that your dealer calculations may vary due to local fees/taxes.

May Estimate
2011 Infiniti G37 Sedan Journey

June Estimate

  1. Hey G,

It seems every infiniti dealer is only willing to meet my price point only for a purchase and not a lease. Does this make sense to you?

Some say you should not tell whether you are leasing/purchasing until a cap cost is negotiated, but I don’t feel it should matter. You agree?

This is what I’m going for…

    G37 Coupe Journey + Premium (36 mo/12K)

MSRP is around $42,205 (for cars that have been on their lot prior to price increase)

Truecar for SoCal is around $37,410 (“great price”)

My price point : $37K EVEN (Base Cap Cost) or I walk. Waiting for the end of the month.

I’ve got 4 dealerships about to start competing, all with $42,205 cars on their lot.

    Any other advice?

    BC

    • BC, in some cases, it makes sense, but it doesn’t this month. I don’t seen any “purchase-only” incentives, so it doesn’t make sense that they will only drop the price on a purchase. I have to say that the TrueCar price is surprisingly low though. I was thinking dealers would only do invoice and maybe some dealer cash since there aren’t a lot of Infinitis coming off the ships lately. I would recommend waiting until the last week of the month and try again. I do think $37k even might be a stretch, specially if you aren’t an existing IFS customer (there’s loyalty cash available as well as dealer cash).

      • I am waiting for month end, but giving some a chance to make the deal now if they want to seal the deal.

I’ll report back. Thanks for the great site!

  2. I went to my local Infiniti dealer around Memorial Day weekend and tried to negotiate a deal on a G37Xs sedan based on Truecar.com pricing. I’m coming out of a Honda lease in 30-45 days, so was just exploring and in no big rush. They did not initially come back with an offer that made me willing to pay off the Honda early, but then came back with an offer on the G37Xs w/Nav, Sport and Premium packages structured around a 39 month lease of just under $40K . OTD cost of $1103 and monthly price of $419. I can’t see any reason not to pull the trigger on this, and am going to leave the guy a deposit on the car, then push ahead with getting the Honda prepped and inspected for return. The Infiniti dealer even offered to handle the return of the Honda for me.

  3. has anybody got any good deal recently on G37x with premium package at 12k/yr with only fees due at signing from a dealer?

    • I think for the most part, G37s are still good deals. Just not as good as they used to be due to availability issues. If you are looking for Dec-Mar prices, you probably won’t find them.

    • RWG rating is based on the ratio between monthly payment and the MSRP. The assumption is that a great deal, in terms of payments, is 1% of the MSRP (before taxes). The inception fees are not included since everyone has to pay them, plus they vary greatly depending on your location. Another factor that affects the rating is your yearly miles. If you lease for less miles, your RWG rating will drop slightly.
