My Take: As I was saying earlier on the Honda post, this month’s numbers should be the same as last months. As we near the end of the 2010 model year now, you will start having difficulty finding the car you want because production has already ended. You may be forced to take on a 2011 model, which will more than likely be more expensive to lease in it’s first few months of introduction. I recommend shopping a few months before the end of your lease or finding a way to weather the “mark-up” months when new models first arrive in showrooms.

To anyone who is on the market for 2010 MDX. Acura now pays 5% of the sales tax. At least here in Texas
I am getting a quote for an Acura TL Tech as followed. Curious if you think it is a good deal. By the way I am in Columbus, Ohio.
Price: 34970
Down Payment: 2000
Monthly: 470.89
Money Factor: .00134
Residual: 21038.35 (53%)
Mileage: 15k
Term: 35 month
This includes the $2250 cash back incentive as well.
Thanks for your time.

Sorry I should have clarified the above post:
2010 Acura TL 2WD Tech (not with 18″ wheels), just standard wheels.
I’ll help out here – need a bit more info. Is your sales tax 6.75%? If I’m correct, that is also jumping to 7.0% starting Oct 1st for Ohio.
Does the $2000 down payment include taxes, fees, etc or is that simply a cap cost reduction? General advice is to put as little money down as possible.
The sale price seems OK according to Truecar – I’ve noticed Acura dealers in the Midwest are selling higher than West Coast. I’ve seen TL Techs go for $33k in California.
Do you really need 15k miles/yer or 45k for 35 months? If you drop the mileage down to 12k/year, your residual goes up and lowers your monthly payment. Why do I ask? Because Acura has an awesome mileage forgiveness program included in its leases:
Acura Loyalty Advantage benefits reward loyal Acura Financial Services (AFS) lease clients by offering:
* Momentum Miles™: If you have driven fewer than your contracted lease miles, your unused lease miles (up to 15,000) will be rounded up to the nearest 1,000 and added to your next Acura Luxury Lease™.
* Mileage Forgiveness™: If you have driven more than your contracted lease miles (up to 7,500), we will waive half of your excess mileage when you lease or finance through AFS. Plus, if you choose to lease another new Acura with us, we’ll add an additional 1,000 miles to your base mileage amount.
However, it’s usually cheaper in the long run to pay for more miles upfront than to pay the penalized amount for going over your mileage on a lease.
The $2000 includes taxes, fees, and first month payment. Also sales tax is 7%.
Thanks for the advise on the miles, but I will use all of the 15K for sure.

Phil, looks like there’s is come cap reduction on the $2000 you are paying. The deal isn’t the best I’ve seen on a TL Tech (but it isn’t all that horrible either), but you are located in a location where pricing is a bit higher, so there isn’t much you can do about that unless you decide to buy out of state. You could ask the dealer to itemize your drive-off fees so you can identify any discrepancies, but I don’t suspect there is anything out of place. The typical inception fees from the TL would be around $1300-$1500. You are paying $2000, so $500-700 of it is being used as cap reduction (more than likely).
