My Take: The GL450 is probably the better deal of the 3 trims. As a matter of fact, I think I’ll be putting it in THE LIST since it’s money factor is fairly low and the residual value is workable. I think that invoice price can be attained in regions with decent competition since cars at this price have a good profit margin. I wouldn’t be surprised if you could dip slightly below invoice. Just don’t forget to negotiate the sale price of the vehicle instead of the payments. If your dealer starts off talking payments with you, quickly switch the subject to the sale price/cap cost of the vehicle. That is the one and only place where you can significantly decrease your monthly payments.
Check out the new LIST for the recommended leases of the month.

Interesting how no American mftg. vehicles are discussed, as ass but Ford are out of the leasing biz.
How about some low & mid-priced family sedans, e.g., Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Sonata, et al? Thanks for the Prius! Sure, it’s nice to be able to afford to lease a Mercedes or BMW, but anything left for the great unwashed majority?
chamge “as ass” to “as all” in the last response. 😉
@SJ. I hear ya. Unfortunately, buying Fords seem to be the better option still. I do get around to some American cars every now and then, bu information on them is rather scarce.
As for the more budget friendly options, I do find them every now and then. I find the premium cars lease rates a bit easier than most, but I’m working on that. As you read on my Saturday post, I’m also trying to strike up relationships with dealers in order to obtain valuable info for the masses. 🙂
No offense SJ,American leases stink if they have one at all. My ford dealer called me today and told me that expedition will not lease but he has a great #’s on a edge lease no thanks I rather get a q5, mdx, or a ml350 just a little more a month.
I’d like to add to jake’s comment about the Ford Edge. It’s not a bad SUV, but it is a tad small for my tastes. I mean, A Chevy Trailblazer has more cargo room, and lets face it, you don’t want a Chevy Trailblazer. I generally stay away from anything that’s a regular on rental fleets.
G keep up the good work finding great value leases for us all.
@jake. thanks jake! i really appreciate the encouragement! i did manage to find some acura/honda stuff which i have to cross-check a bit. seems like some of the mf incentives are regional.
@all what I mean is it’s a better value to lease a better car (BMW MB lex Audi ) than a reg car suv, the #’s Im gettn are crap. 2nd thing G. when you get a chance help us out in the Boston area with some good dealers around, herb chambers MB acted like I asked them to part the seas to take some more $ off the gl450.
@jake. I’ll do my best for you guys in the NE. I know a good chunk of my traffic comes from the Northeast, so I definitely plan to put more focus on that market to help you guys out. I just gotta wake up early enough to contact those dealers. Haahaa.
