My Take: There is around $3000 dealer cash available on the FX35 this month, so factor that into your negotiations. The rates are practically unchanged, so it isn’t any better than last months. Now, couple of things for you California residents. Our sales tax goes up April as I mentioned in a previous post, but our car registrations will ALSO go up (double) beginning May 19th. To top things off, we’re rasing our gasoline tax by another 12 cents. So yeah, think long and hard as to what car and when you plan to lease your next ride. We’re talking hundreds of dollars in savings if you pick the right one.

Can you please confirm the $3000 dealer cash can be used on a lease. It’s not clear on Edmunds.com. Thanks,Rob
Rob, the dealer cash is used at the dealer’s discretion. That means, they can choose to give it all to you, part or none at all. In the past, most dealers have been willing to share part of that on leases, not all of it.
Thank you G
Hi G,
Just as an FYI, I’ve been in touch with 2 dealers and both say the $3000 dealer cash is not available on leases only purchases and this instruction comes directly from IFS.
Rob
Hey, G. Do you have the money factor and residual numbers on the FX35 AWD for April? Thanks.
all quiet on the leasing front. still early in the month. expect lease rates around 2nd-3rd week of the month.
Any updates on the FX50 lease rates? What about incentives? Any idea what a reasonable offer would be for the FX50?

@sean, definitely do not buy the car at invoice, even with dealer cash and loyalty. There’s so much profit on this car right now, its ridiculous. dealer fee is 595 + 1081 over invoice + 100 (misc fee??? what misc fee?) + holdback which is about 1% of MSRP, or $457. Have them at least do invoice + rebates/cash.
i am being told that dealer cash is only good on a purchase.. not lease. can some1 confirm that?
@sean, that’s what I am hearing as well. the main thing is this… try to negotiate a sale price with part of that cash in mind (w/o confronting the dealer about the existence of the cash), just to see if the dealer is willing to give it to you for your asking price.
