My Take: I think the residual value on the CX9 has dropped to the point where not even the low MF can save it. If you check out The List, you’ll see how the CX9 Touring AWD comes in at just a tad above the IS350 in terms of monthly payments. Which would you rather have?

G, I’ll be leasing a compact crossover for my wife in Sep or Oct. Do you have rates for any of the following? Acura RDX, Mazda CX-7, Lexus RX, Mitsubishi Outlander, Nissan Murano, Nissan Rogue, Subaru Forester, Subaru Tribeca, Toyota Rav4. Thanks!
KR: Sorry, I don’t have rates for the cars you are shopping for at the moment. If I do come cross them, I will post them. I do know that the 09 RDX isn’t a great lease right now, so I would wait on that. The X3 seems to be the better lease at the moment.
FYI – the numbers leave a bit of information off the table! The discount off of MSRP you are getting for your cap cost! The 08 CX-9 can be had for WELL UNDER invoice these days and MAZDA is giving an additional $2075 in “MAC Cash” which dealers use to bring the cap cost down even more! You can get anywhere form 2,075(mac cash only) – 4,075(2,000 under invocie PLUS MAC cash) under invoice these days for your cap cost. Run the #s at 4,075 under invoice on a 2 year lease with 12,000 miles (60%) and the monthly #s are very nice for a 34,000 car
layers73: thanks for the tip layers73! I actually didn’t know the MAC cash was currently available, so that’s certainly refreshing news for those who are considering the CX-9. Seems the 2yr 12k mile lease would run in the $300s per month if you can get 4k below invoice. NICE.
