August 2008 Lease Rate for 08 BMW 5-Series

My Take: Looks like BMWFS improved the money factor for the 5-series. Not exactly a bad time to check out the 5-series right now. I actually like the 5-series a lot, almost as much as I like the E-Class. I just don’t have the money or the need to lease either of them. Again, 48+ month leases are bad because residual drops significantly and MFs jump up. Bad combination when it comes to leasing, not to mention more wear and tear costs. I’ll be taking a look at the 528 and the 535 sedan’s payments. R

24mo Payment: $674 at invoice, $850 at MSRP
36mo Payment: $655 at invoice, $775 at MSRP

Seems the 36mo lease is much better than the 24mo lease. You can lower your payments around $25 per month if you go from 15k to 12k or $38 by going to 10k on a 36mo lease.

36mo Payment: $704 at invoice, $835 at MSRP

With the price of the 528i and the 535i being off by about $50, I would opt for the 535i. Both cars are going for about $1000 over invoice according to Edmund’s TMV. Another thing to remember, you may be required to put a security deposit in order to lowest MF listed here. I believe they will waive that if you are a current BMW customer.
