My Take: Unfortunately, the numbers for July are not as good as May/Junes. Expect your monthly payments to go up some $20 or so per month.

any recent thoughts on the tradeoff between your great car and low mpg? are you still loving it? any regrets? my heart wants to go with the g but i can’t shake the fact that the mileage is so poor. t-minus 27 days until my lease expires!! based on your figures, the g35x w/prem package at invoice w/no cap cost reduction (34701), 36-months, 61% residual (12k / yr), .00167 mf, and 7.15% tax rate, monthly pmt: $450. monthly fuel costs assuming 19.1 mpg avg and 12k miles per year $4 per gallon: $209 (would be higher w/premium fuel obviously). decisions decisions…..please help. what should i do? my ’05 audi A4 3.2L lease pmts were about 630/mo w/tax and i think i got mid 20’s mpg.
Hi D,
Actually I don’t have regrets, yet. Love the car 2 months into the lease, slightly lower gas prices does help a bit 🙂 I guess if I were to change jobs and have to drive more than the daily 11 mile round trip commute, I would some regrets. As of now, I’m averaging a little less than 750 miles per month. I fill up around every other week at around $65-$75 depending on how empty my tank is. I haven’t cracked 20mpg even with some highway miles. Thing is, this car is meant to driven and driven hard. That is were it shines after all. If your commute is mostly city miles and long, I would consider other cars as well. I believe the G35x gets slightly lower MPG than the G37, being AWD and all.
