09 Audi A4 Lease Rates – May 2009

logo_audi My Take: Good leases coming out of Audi Financing Services this month. Just look at the money factors! NICE! With the exception of the S4, everything else looks pretty darn good. Residuals are a bit weaker than I’d like, but that also means they are a bit more realistic. The convertible’s MF really make it a great Lease-To-Buy candidate (sorry, but you will be hearing that Lease-To-Buy thing quite a bit from now on!). As far as the which model has the best residual/money factor balance on the A4 lineup, I would have to go with the A4 2.0T Cabriolet Quattro. Not sure I would buy it out at lease end, because I am skeptical of the ragtops ability to withstand time, but it certainly makes a solid lease if you factor in AudiCare and lower your mileage allowance to 12k per year.

09 Audi A4, S4, A5, S5 Lease Rates – April 2009

logo_audi My Take: I’m seeing the same exact lease rates (as March) for April on the A4/A5/S4/S5. If you aren’t ready to pull the trigger on any of these cars this month, you may want to wait to see what May brings. The A5 is a bit cheaper than past months, but it could use a little bit more encouragement. Remember, no one has a crystal ball (I know I don’t) so I can’t predict whether things will improve of any of the following cars. One thing is for certain, residuals only go down, so if you see a car that already has a really low money factor, you should jump on it. You can only lower the money factor so much before monthly payments start going back up due to the loss in residual value.

logo_audi My Take: Not much as changed on the A4 lease rates. MF drops, Residual drops, so it basically stayed the same as last month. Now on the A5, you will see the money factor is improved dramatically, while the residual only suffered a slight 1% drop. This combination shaves off around $20-$30 bucks off your monthly payments. Not too shabby. Is it really worth it? Maybe. Are there other cheaper alternatives? Oh yeah. But nothing as sexy as the A5/S5. Obviously, you want to avoid the 48-month lease here because of the ultra-high money factors.

09 Audi A4/S4 Lease Rates for February 2009

My Take: First things first, stay away from the S4 and the A4 2.0T Prestige if you plan to lease because the money factors look outrageously high. As for the rest of the A4 lineup, I’ve heard anywhere from $1000 under invoice to $2000 under invoice, so if you are paying anymore than that, you’re paying too much. I’m currently digging the A4 2.0T’s Cabriolet residuals and money factors, so if you are in the lookout for a droptop, this just might be the one you want to take a look at. I am guessing that a well-equipped model, at a $2000 under invoice pricetag should be between the high $400s and low $500s per month with inception fees upfront.

UPDATED Audi Lease Rates for Nov-Dec 2008

My Take: Audi Financial updated the lease rates yesterday. At first glance, you’ll noticed the money factor was slashed for the A3. The A4 stays relatively unchanged. There a lot of money factor reductions for some of the other cars on their line up. Take the time to look things over to see if there’s something worth leasing here. I personally would look into the A3 2.0T Quattro or the A4 Premium on a 36 month/12k term. The S5 would be awesome if the money factor wasn’t so high. The TT also has a decent residual / money factor combination.

My Take: Current Audi owners/lesses have $2500 cash available for lease or purchase from AFS. There is also 0.9%-2.9% for up to 60 months, with the lower percentages going to 2-3 year financing. The cash certainly helps if you qualify for it. If you don’t, expect payments to go up $60-70 per month.

Fairly competitive if you ask me (Even though, not exactly ideal). Payments are hovering around the same as the 328i. Which would I rather have? If I lived in snowy weather, the A4 would be the better choice because it’s Quattro system is superb. Even on summer tires, I’ve driven through heavy rain like it was on dry asphalt, that’s how good it is. Aside from the A4 2.0T SE trims, the rest of the A4 lineup doesn’t seem to have great leases at the moment (I’m not even going to get into the S and RS models).
