2009/2010 Nissan Altima, Maxima Lease Rates – October 2009

logo_nissanMy Take: 2009 Altima and Maxima sedan numbers look pretty good. The residual could be higher, but we’re so late in the 2009 year that it’s somewhat expected. Nissan is throwing a $1,750 rebate at any remaining 2009 Altima 2.5 S and Maxima SV sedan right so that should offset the low residual. You can alternatively look into the 2010 which has a significantly higher residual. but the money is also high as well. I’d shoot for a 2009 unless you can’t find the exact options you are looking for.

2010 Mazda CX-9 Lease Rates – October 2009

logo_mazdaMy Take: Very attractive money factors here. Not so much the residual values. You would have to lower your mileage allowance to get a more respectable 50%+ residual value. There isn’t any dealer/customer cash in sight on the 2010s yet, so that doesn’t really help matters one bit. I would sit on this truck for a couple month and see how things play out in the first half of next year, around spring time.

2010 Lincoln MKS Lease Rates – October 2009

My Take: It’s not every day I post an American made vehicle’s lease rates, so enjoy it while you can. How does it look? So-so. It’s not terrible, but it certainly isn’t going to make me get out of my seat and go test drive one. I’m baffled as to how Ford is in better shape than GM and Chrysler. Their products really aren’t all that great. During the OC Auto Show, I roamed around the Ford section and came away very disappointed. The quality of the materials is so-so. Lots of plastic used, the design still doesn’t look uniform (i.e. their cars felt like they where designed by different departments). One of the biggest tests I conduct with cars is the “door slam” test. Some cars feel hollow, while others have a very solid “thud” sound when you close it. I like the solid “thud” sound in my cars. To top things off, just look at the picture in this post! This Lincoln looks like its got teeth and it’s going to eat me.

2010 Lexus RX350 Lease Rates – October 2009

logo_lexusMy Take: The money factor on the 2010 RX isn’t very attractive right now, but the residual value is. You will need to do your best to knock off a decent amount off the MSRP in order to compensate for the high money factor. 10% off MSRP is generally what I recommend shooting for in these economic times. More, if the dealer has a lot of marketing/dealer/customer cash available for you. As you know, marketing, dealer and customer rebates are all provided by the manufacturer, NOT the dealer; therefore you need to get the dealer to discount you PLUS whatever the rebates the manufacturer has for you.

2009/2010 Lexus IS Lease Rates – October 2009

logo_lexusMy Take: 2009 IS looks alright still, so be sure to check out any remaining 2009 models if you are in the market for an entry-level sports sedan. I think the 2010s are a bit expensive right now, but the residual is high enough to offset some of the MF. Don’t forget MSDs if available. The key here is the sale price. If you can secure very good discounts off the MSRP (ideally around 10% or more), then you might be able to pull off a decent deal on the 2010 IS, even on the convertible.

2009 Infiniti EX, FX Lease Rates – October 2009

logo_infinitiMy Take: As expected, the lease rates for the EX and FX are pretty solid. Compared to the competition (ML, Q5, Q7, X3 or X5), Infinitis are equipped and priced very reasonably. If you are shopping for a SUV this month, make sure to add the Infiniti’s into your list.

2009 Infiniti G37 Lease Rates – October 2009

logo_infinitiUPDATE: Added the Journey Coupe. My Take: Lease rates on the G37 are practically unchanged from September. I’ve added the G37X coupe to the mix. I will update this post as I find more information for the remaining rates on the G37 coupes. The numbers on the sedan are pretty solid. The coupe looks alright as well, the MF is a tad high, but the residual offsets the MF fairly well.
