2010 Acura TL Lease Rates – February 2010

logo_acuraMy Take: The residual value for the TL has dropped by 1% since the end of last month. To make matters worse, the money factor got bumped up a significantly as well. However, AHFC is providing $1500-$2000 cash to dealer (non-Tech and Tech) which CAN be used for leasing. When there’s dealer cash like this, you can typically start at Invoice, substract the dealer cash, then tap into some of that holdback (assuming your dealer is VERY eager to lease you one of these). This means that a base TL $35,915 MSRP with an invoice price of $33,483 should cost you no more than $31,983 in most markets. In areas where competition is fierce, you can probably have the dealer share some of the $1077 in holdback. I’d probably ask for around half, making a final sale price somewhere in the $31,500 vicinity. So what does this mean for you? If you get the sale price and opt for the 12k miles per year lease, you should expect your monthly payments to be around $393 per month + tax; with inception fees due at signing (somewhere around $1500). If you can negotiate these numbers (or better), I think you’ll find yourself in a pretty good lease.

2010 Mercedes Benz C-Class Lease Rates – February 2010

logo_benzMy Take: No rebates, disappointing lease rates = forgettaboutit! More than likely, you will be able to get invoice. Additionally, you should also be able to tap into holdback. VJ mentioned that “Ambassador Numbers” are available this month. Meaning “employee discounts”. This is a good thing, if you can match it with a killer money factor and residual value. I’m not really seeing it here on the C. If they were to drop the money factor by 0.001, then you’re talking a “can’t miss” lease.

2010 BMW 6-Series, 7-Series, Z4 Lease Rates – February 2010

logo_bmwMy Take: Nothing to get excited about on this list since you’ll either see poor residuals or poor money factors.  There are is about $10k cash to dealer on the 6s. Unfortunately, it only applies to those who pay cash so no point getting into that.

2010 BMW 5-Series Lease Rates – February 2010

logo_bmwMy Take: I’m not feeling the 5-series this month. The residuals are not bad compared to other brands, but by BMW standards, they aren’t very high. Typically, you would expect BMWFS to drop the money factors to compensate for a lower residual, but not in this case. With no rebates in sight, I would suggest taking a pass on the 5-series, for now. But if you must have one, please be advised that a newly-redesigned model is in the horizon, which means that there should be a “fire sale” at some point before 2011 model arrives.

2010 BMW X3, X5, X6 Lease Rates – February 2010

logo_bmwMy Take: Sorry Danny, I said a few minutes, but it turned into a few hours. Internet has been pretty slow today, so I had to resort to mooching off 3G wireless off my phone (yes, my home network is THAT bad right now). Anyway, the only lease I would consider off this list is the BMW X5 xDrive 48i and the 2010 BMW X6 xDrive50i. The residuals are high and the money factor is low (relative to their model). I would still recommend some MSDs on these rides since the price tag on these puppies are pretty steep.

2010 BMW 1-Series Lease Rates – February 2010

logo_bmwMy Take: Moving on to the 1-series. I feel these past couple months have been very solid months for the 1-series. Remember last year, around this time the MF was a whopping 0.00265! And the residual was 1% less than it is now! So for those who leased last year around this time, I’m sorry for say this, but you overpaid. Personally, I wouldn’t mind going for the 1-series if they had the 5-door hatch I saw on my trip to Uruguay, but they don’t, so these rides aren’t on my shopping list this year.

2010 BMW 3-Series Lease Rates – February 2010

logo_bmwMy Take: I just got the new lease rates for BMWs, so I am going to kick things off this year with the 3-series. Keep a few things in mind, I got these numbers from LeaseCompare, therefore, you will be seeing a lot of reference links to that site as part of the deal in order to redistribute the numbers. Hopefully everyone can live with them from now on.

Anyway, this month’s take of the 3-series is simple, the coupes look pretty good. There may be a higher price tag now, but the residual values are strong and the money factors are fairly low. The sedans need a little love from BMWFS thought. Final verdict? The numbers have improved since December so if you plan to lease one of these, it might not be a bad idea.

2010 VW GTI Lease Rates – December 2009

logo_vwMy Take: VW is waiving the 1st month payment, so I think the GTI is a pretty good deal right now. A well equipped model around $29,089 MSRP that is sold at invoice, should have payments of around $370 per month with your inception fees due at signing (minus the 1st month payment). With tax (depending on your county, you should expect around $400 per month). If you cut back on the options, you should a high-$300s monthly payment. I’m not sure what the 2-door version’s residual value is, but I would expect it to be a few percentage points higher than the 4-door.
