Nissan lease rates got a little bit worse than last month. The residual stayed similar to March, but the money factors went up a bit. This probably has something to do with Japan’s earthquare/tsunami/nuclear disaster. There’s also a markup of about $550 to the MSRP, so if you are looking for a Nissan right now, expect to pay slightly more than last month.

About rebates…If you see a cash rebate that cannot be combined with special financing, it probably means that it will not apply to leases either. Please speak to your dealer to confirm.

On a separate note, Just to be clear, the photos of cars I post do not represent the lease rates I obtain. I got a complaint last month as to why I have a picture of a GTR and do not have lease rates for them. If you don’t see them posted, you probably should contact your local dealer.

2011 Infiniti Lease Rates – April 2011

As expected, Japan’s unfortunate disaster has begun hitting our pocketbooks this month. Glancing over this month’s lease rates, I am noticing higher money factors on practically every model. To make matters worse, the MSRP seems to have increased as well. The good news is that some of the rebates are still available, such as the $1000 loyalty cash on the G37 Journey Sedan (plus you have $1000 dealer cash you can try tap into). I believe the 4-month pull ahead program is still in effect (I haven’t been told otherwise), so if you have an existing Infiniti lease and want another one, you can probably take advantage of that (it should come with a $500 wear-n-tear credit). Compared to last month, you will be paying about $1000 more over the course of the loan ($30 per month) on a G37 Journey Sedan. Sample calculations are broken down below. No, it is not a typo. 2011 BMW Lease Rates – April 2011

April numbers have changed a little, but some models have stayed the same. 2012 models have been introduced for a few new models, but I wouldn’t recommend getting into any of them at the moment. Residuals on 2011 models are still strong and their money factors are much lower, which equals a better deal. Overally, BMWs haven’t been leasing at the level Hondas and Infinitis have over the past 6 months. There are a few good deals to be had, but they are few and far between. I would recommend the 335d since the “eco credit” ($3500) should still be available, which makes this ride and EXCELLENT choice with today’s gas prices.

2011 Audi Lease Rates – April 2011

Audi lease rates remain the same as March. If you missed out on an Audi last month, you get another month to cut a deal with your dealer. I expect May numbers to change, so if you like this month’s numbers, I recommend making your deal this month, preferably in the last few days of the month since you can negotiate a bit more aggressively.

On a personal note, the only car from Audi I would consider leasing right now is the A3 2.0T. In terms of value, it is the only car that isn’t grossly overpriced at the moment.

Wow, the residuals are atrocious! I would have liked to see higher residual since the money factors are pretty decent this month. Anyway, average discount + poor residual + average MF = poor deal.

If I was shopping for one of these, I would just buy it in cash. The 3.5% APR is pretty much the same as the .00146 MF, so there isn’t much of an advantage between leasing and financing unless you own your own business.

The Forester XT Touring drops ever so slightly for the month of March. Unfortunately, still not enough car for the money (relative to other makes and models in this price range). I didn’t find anything on the Legacy, but it looked pretty good last month, so it might be worth inquiring about this month to see if the deal got sweeter.

Not much to say here. The low residual value doesn’t really make this a great lease despite having very little in terms of “rent charge”. The problem here is the discount. In So Cal, it’s about 5% off MSRP according the TrueCar.com. This isn’t a lot considering the cost of this vehicle. Then again, this a limited production model, so you probably will be hard pressed to find it of dirt cheap (unless it goes on clearance). 2011 Mercedes-Benz Lease Rates – March 2011

Like everyone else, MB dropped the residual and the money factor to keep things around the same ballpark the last couple of months (Feb numbers were the same as Jan). In So Cal, the C300 Sport is enjoying 10% discount off MSRP, which isn’t half bad, but I am willing to bet that come summer time, it will get better. In any case, The C300 is a very good lease if you can hit those numbers. Plus, if you opt for the 48-month term, your payments would get even lower. Of course, you gotta deal with the cost of wear-n-tear items since the lease is longer. Sometimes, MB does provide an attractive 27-month lease by taking advantage of that high residual value and reasonable money factor. Since I don’t deal with “unconventional” terms, you will need to speak to your dealer in order to get the 411 on that.

One thing to keep in mind is that my estimates are based on “base” models, therefore, the more options you add, the pricier your payments get. Generally speaking, for every $1000 borrowed, the monthly payment increases by about $30 per month.

Couple of other notable leases include: SLK (low money factor), E350 conv (lower than usual money factor), ML350 (low money factor).

The S has a low money factor too, but the residual value is far too low to make it a good deal.
