2012 model seem to have some lease support this month. That means high residuals and reasonably low money factors. Special thanks to Kevin L for providing a list of rates for Nissan cars. The good news is that the list has numbers for all six lease terms, rates for their SignatureOne lease program PLUS minimum credit requirements for each credit tier. The bad news is that the list missing numbers for the 370Z and the GT-R and it has no information on any available rebates. You can see this list on my Facebook page.

Below, you will find few of the numbers from Kevin’s list. Please note that 39-month terms suffer a 1% drop in residual, but the money factor remains the same. I am really like the numbers for the Maxima, Altima and SPECIALLY the Sentra SE-R Spec V right now.

2011-12 Volkswagen Lease Rates – July 2011

The numbers are in! I know I got a bunch of comments to answer. I haven’t had much time since work has been hectic and I have been trying to recover from a cold.

In any case, here are the numbers! In my opinion, the numbers look kind of mediocre. Take the CC for example, I like the MF drop but the sale price in my area got jacked up by about $1000 according to TrueCar. That pretty much blows up the deal for me. Unless a few thousands can be shaved on the sale price, last month’s 39-month was better (see calculations below). 2011 models suffered some residual value drops, but some of these models also got a big MF reduction. This should help keep payment low. There are a few exceptions, the Tiguan, Routan and Touareg MFs jumped a bit.

2011-12 Mercedes Benz Lease Rates – July 2011

MB residual remain steady for the most part. One notable change is the Ml350 gets a slight reduction in money factor. 2012 SLK seems to have pretty good lease rates for a 2012 model. Sale price may be a problem since the car is so new. Edmunds has not released any incentive information for MBs this month so you will have to check with your dealer to see if there is any cash or special financing available. Overall, not a lot of changes this month.

For those shopping for the entry model C300s, the lease rates are exactly the same as last month. My best local price is only about 5% off MSRP (accourding to TrueCar), but it looks like NE customers can get up to 10%. That’s a pretty high big range if you ask me. With that in mind, I would probably find out what your best local price is via TrueCar, but start your negotiation from about 10%-11% and cap it at your best local TrueCar sale price.

FYI – I do have residuals for 30, 42 and 54 lease. MB is pitching 33 month lease rates, which I do not have. If you need these unusual terms, leave me a message and I will share them with it. I would post them, but that just takes way too long.

2011-12 Volvo Lease Rates – June 2011

Special thanks to Matt for providing me with such a complete list of Volvo lease rates! I am very thankful for those of you who help me out by sending me lease rates. It really makes my life easier, so I greatly appreciate all the help!

Looking over the numbers, some models look quite promising. The C30 seems okay, the C70 looks pretty good and the S80 shows some promise. SoCal discounts are around 8-9% off MSRP for the C30, 10% for the C70 and about 11% for the S80. Keep in mind that these are for the 2011 models. Since 2012 are out for some of these cars, your choices for a 2011 may be more limited. I am personally digging the C70 because the residual is relatively high (for a Volvo) and the money factor breaks down to only 1.15% in interest. Tack on a big 10% discount and you get a 90+ RWG rating, which is pretty rare for Volvos.

On a different note, the S40 will be pulled from the US market next year. The same goes for the V50. Volvo cites that “Americans haven’t learned to love small cars” as the reason for pulling out. I’m thinking it’s more like “We simply cannot complete with an inferior product”. The entry-level luxury segment is ultra competitive and there are better and cheaper options out there. A loaded S40 with moonroof will run you about $36k MSRP and I’m not even talking R-Design. Can anyone think of better options at this price range? I know I can.

2011 Mercedes-Benz Lease Rates – June 2011

There has been a drop in residual, but nothing too significant (about 1% on 36-month leases). Another bit of bad news is that it seems MB has jacked up the sale prices recently. I’m seeing only a 5% discount off MSRP on the C300 Sport here in SoCal (based on TrueCar numbers). Last month was more like 14%. Not sure what changed, but I can’t see how this can hold up in the long run. 2012 models should be arriving later this year, so I’m hopeful that sale prices will improve.

Remember that when it comes to Mercedes-Benz, the 48-month lease usually yields lower monthly payments. However, sometimes, MBFS will introduce a 27-month lease that is a pretty good deal too. Be sure to check with your dealer to see if that’s available.

The 24-month lease on the Edge Sport AWD isn’t exactly the best, but the discounts seem to be pretty good. Probably not the best lease around, but should you choose to buy, this isn’t half bad. I am not sure I would pay upwards of $600 a month on a Ford Edge. I would much rather have something else on the luxury side of things, maybe the MDX.

I’m very happy to see Chrysler jumping into the leasing action lately. The JGC lease isn’t exactly the best, but it looks promising. What really shines here is the money factor, which breaks down to 0.55%. A well equipped Laredo should be in the $400s before taxes (assuming you pay inception fees up front). Not bad for an excellent SUV based off the Benz ML platform.

I got three words for Chrysler at this point: “KEEP THEM COMING!” I would love to see more promotions on the JGC and other Jeep/Chrysler/Dodge/Ram vehicles in the coming months!

2011 Hyundai Lease Rates – June 2011

Here is what’s currently available from Hyundai. More numbers will come as I find them. You may scour Edmunds or Hyundai Forums for numbers if don’t see them here. Better yet, call your local dealer. I find that for “non-luxury” brands, there’s less mf-padding than with luxury brands such as BMW and Mercedes.

There’s been a lot of Sonata vs Optima debates lately, and I think they are both good cars. I opted for the Sonata because it was a better lease and also because the interior appealed to me more. The residual value is much higher on the Sonata and the money factor is also more attractive. There is a larger customer cash incentive on the Optima though, but in my opinion, it doesn’t offset the cost enough. The sale price seems to have gone up a little bit on the Sonata, but it is still a reasonable lease (89.2 RWG rating). Veterans and current Hyundai customers get an additional $500, while Students and Grads get $400. No lease cash is currently available.

Lease vs Buy. If you are planning to finance a purchase over 5 years, you may want to keep your cash and lease for the first 3 years (1.344 on a lease vs 2.9% on a buy) then maybe refi the remaining payoff (as long as the interest isn’t too high) or pay the entire payoff. If you manage this properly, you could actually save money over the typical purchase financing option.

Another thing worth noting, the Elatra Touring is no the all-new sedan. It’s actually a wagon which has an older design.
