2011-12 Hyundai Lease Rates – September 2011

Sonata lease rates are decent this month. There’s lease cash (loyalty) available as well on a nicely equipped Sonata SE Turbo (like mine) which is a bonus. The sale prices aren’t as low as back in the first half of the year, but they are still attractive because of the lease cash. Is this an awesome lease? No. But it’s not half bad.

If you aren’t an existing Hyundai customer, your payments will probably jump about $15-$20 bucks more per month. Still within the “GOOD DEAL” range.

Some of you may be wondering why I don’t talk about the Elantra’s promising lease numbers. That’s because you probably won’t see much in terms of discounts on the 2012 model right now. Unless you are able to pry $500 bucks or more out of the dealership’s hands, my guess is that deal won’t be as good as it could be. Of course, I’m not seeing the Civic being a great deal right now either, so you be the judge.

Here is a sample calculation based on TrueCar’s Southern California sale price and do not include local taxes. Please note that your dealer calculations may vary due to local fees/taxes.

2012 Sonata Turbo SE (w/Nav)

2011 Acura RL

2011-12 Acura Lease Rates – September 2011

Acura lease rates look good this month, but the discounts aren’t nearly as good as in the “pre-tsunami” months (the only exception would be the TL). Dealer cash is available on many models, but the only significant rebate to be had is only available on the TL (no surprise there).

I will go out on a limb to say that the TL is probably the best deal you can get on an Acura right now. The car isn’t the most attractive $30k+ luxury car, but it’s well-built and backed by one of the best lease programs in the industry. If you are getting a RWG rating anywhere near my estimate below, don’t bother asking me if it’s a good deal, just get the car!!!

Honda CR-V

2011-12 Honda Lease Rates – September 2011

Honda numbers look decent for most remaining 2011 models. 2012 models still seem a bit expensive at the moment since the MF is quite high and the discounts are not very significant. If I where in the market for a Honda right now, I would look at the 2011 models first to see what remains and try to get the lowest sale price in town. Models I recommend looking into are the CR-V, Pilot and any remaining Accord.

2011-12 Nissan Lease Rates – September 2011

Residuals dropped across the board on all 2011 models and some 2012 models. Money factors dropped to keep payments lower. Basically your standard MF adjustment to compensate for lost value. Nissans lease pretty well in general, so check them out. I anticipate the Maxima and the Altima to be solid leases this month. If you are looking for the Z, don’t bother. They rarely (if ever) have anyease support. Same goes for the GT-R.

2012 Volvo S60

2012 Volvo Lease Rates – September 2011

There is loyalty cash to be had on all Volvos right now. Remaining 2011 S60 and S80s have some extra cash incentives as well. The 2012 C70 probably has the best lease rates of them all at the moment, but it is a more expensive lease than the 2011. I think Volvo leases have improved a lot over the past year. Definitely better than what I’ve seen coming out of Audi lately. I would love to see the day where I can debate whether a G37 or a S60 is the better deal.

Lease rates was made available by the good folks at North Point Volvo. If you are in or near the Alpharetta, GA area and looking for a Volvo, please give them a call.

2011 BMW 535i

2011-12 BMW Lease Rates – September 2011

In case you were wondering, BMW has not extended their 24mo Z4 lease. That’s a big disappointment since that was one of the best leases around for a 2-seat convertible. Fortunately, not all hope is lost! The M3 coupe and the 328 Wagon aren’t half bad. They have very good residual values and decent money factor. The discounts aren’t spectacular, but it’s good enough to make the lease reasonable. If you qualify for the loyalty reduction, you’d be looking at a very good deal.

There are drops in residual on many models which is disappointing. Money factors have really dropped much (if any), so that makes deals a bit more expensive. Remember the Team USA credit should still be in play (if you did the test drive) and if you are returning BMW customer, you should still qualify for the loyalty MF reduction or $1000 credit.

Here is a sample calculation based on TrueCar’s Southern California sale price and do not include local taxes. Please note that your dealer calculations may vary due to local fees/taxes.

2011 Lexus Lease Rates – September 2011

Lexus lease numbers still don’t look great, because esiduals have tanked and the MF has only dropped slightly. However, since we are nearing the end of the 2011 model year, you should expect sizable discounts. Take the IS250 for example, TrueCar indicates that So.Cal. prices are about 11% off MSRP. That’s VERY good because the residual is still good an the MF is reasonable.
If you are in the military, you should qualify for the $750 incentive that’s available through March 31st, 2012. Yes, that’s next year.

Here is a sample calculation based on TrueCar’s Southern California sale price and do not include local taxes. Please note that your dealer calculations may vary due to local fees/taxes.

2011 Lexus IS250 AT Sedan
MSRP – $35,340
Sale Price – $31,311
Monthly – $379+ tax

2011 Land Rover Lease Rates – September 2011

The Land Rover lease rates leave a lot to be desired this month. The discounts are simply not there for a vehicle in this price range. The MF is nice on the LR4, but the residual is a deal-killer. Unless you can get 10% off the MSRP. I really don’t think leasing a LR makes sense. The only bright spot here that I can see is the Range Rover Sport HSE. It has high residual that helps offset the MF. There’s also lease cash on it, which helps keep the sale price down. However, I still don’t think it’s worth leasing unless you can get closer to 10% off MSRP. In So. Cal. TrueCar is indicating about 5% off MSRP with the lease cash. That’s not a lot for a ride at this price.

Here is a sample calculation based on TrueCar’s Southern California sale price and do not include local taxes. Please note that your dealer calculations may vary due to local fees/taxes.

2011 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER SPORT HSE
