2012 Honda Lease Rates – December 2011

It looks like lease rates remain unchanged from November, which means almost everything looks great. As you know, Honda has has very good leases throughout the year. Inventory has been spotty since the Tsunami and Thai floods, but things are picking back up. Another problem they have been facing is that their cars haven’t been as desirable lately, but I am confident they will right the ship. My personal favorite lease this month is still the Pilot, which is a great (if not the best) option for a 7-seat passenger vehicle. It doesn’t have the best interior (or exterior for that matter), but for what you are paying, I think it’s fair.

Here is a sample calculation based on TrueCar’s Southern California sale price and do not include local taxes. Please note that your dealer calculations may vary due to local fees/taxes.

2011-12 Nissan Lease Rates – December 2011

There’s been a slight drop in MF for the Maxima, Rogue and Murano. I also got 24-month lease rates for the Altima S sedan, which looks promising. I also got the numbers for the Pathfinder, which doesn’t horrible but I’m not certain it will be a great lease. The highlight this month is truly the Altima S. I have NEVER seen the Altima lease this well on a 24mo lease. As a matter of fact, I don’t recall any car leasing this well on a 24mo. PERIOD. There is also 0% financing for up to 60 month, making this both a good lease AND a good buy. Looks like we found this month’s Round-Up winner.

2012 Audi Lease Rates – December 2011

November lease rates carry over into December. The loyalty lease cash is still available. Please check Edmunds’ page for more information. If you plan to buy, there’s a separate cash incentive you may qualify for. Overall, Audi leases suck. They suck so bad that I can’t, in good conscience, recommend leasing one. On the other hand, I have no problems recommending them as purchases since they throw a good incentives at them plus there’s 1.9% financing available for most models.

2012 Volkswagen Lease Rates – December 2011

There has been a reduction on the MF for the Passat this month. That’s good news because I thought the .00099 MF last month was a tad high. It’s been reduced to .00058 plus the residual has stayed the same. The deal still isn’t as good as I thought it would be due to a measly 4% discount off MSRP in my region. Maybe you will fare better in your neck of the woods. If you are looking to lease one of these and then pay off the car in a balloon payment at lease end, it might not bad a bad idea since the interest rate is 1.39% on the lease VS 1.9% on a purchase. However, if you can’t do a balloon payment at lease end, just buy it using this 1.9% APR. It will be cheaper in the long run.

2012 Mercedes-Benz Lease Rates – December 2011

MB numbers remain the same as last month. The C250 coupe is getting a lot of attention lately. The residual value is so high, it really helps offset the high money factor. Dealers have been selling the car for about 4-5% off MSRP. Keep in mind that you can get the car at 7% off MSRP via European delivery, which may or may not be worth it depending on your preference. If you can make a short vacation out of it, picking up your car in Europe wouldn’t be such a bad thing, specially when you can get an extra 2-3% off the sticker price. Another HUGE perk I’d like to point out is the $2000 loyalty cash that is available to those of you with active MBFS loans. Check out my calculation below for an example of what payments would look like in a “best case” scenario (without having to pick the car up in Europe).

2012 Acura Lease Rates – December 2011

TSX Special Edition is finally here and Acura seems to believe you would pay extra for cosmetic changes (notice the higher MF on the SE vs the Base). The isn’t much of a discount on them so I would wait it out if you have been wanting one. Things stay relatively the same for the TL base. There is a slight bump in the sale price, but the $1250 dealer cash is still there. The ZDX gets $2000 in dealer cash, making it an even more fantastic lease. I didn’t add this cash into my calculations because the ZDX’s sale price seem to be really low without any incentives, leading me to believe that perhaps dealers are using some or most of that $2000 dealer cash. In any case, this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t ask for TrueCar’s lowest price + the $2000 dealer cash.

On a different note: Honda has made dealers pull “Guaranteed Upfront Pricing” from the TrueCar.com website. Here’s a plug from TrueCar’s website about this issue:

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. has directed all Acura Certified Dealers to remove upfront price guarantees for consumers from the TrueCar website. As a result, an upfront price guarantee may not be available for your requested Acura vehicle. TrueCar strongly believes every consumer has the right to transparent, no-haggle pricing, and we will continue to work with American Honda to resolve this issue for the benefit of both you the consumer and our TrueCar Certified Acura Dealers. In the meantime, you can still enjoy low prices by contacting the Certified Dealers on your Price Protection Certificate.

So be aware that some haggling may be necessary in order to secure a low price.

2012 Lexus Lease Rates – December 2011

I got the lease rates for the CT200H and they look okay. Same residual as the IS250, but a slightly higher money factor. Unfortunately, the average sale price in Southern California is about 4% off MSRP, which doesn’t yield the best payments. Check out my calculations below for more info. Personally, I don’t think it’s worth it. The IS250 sale prices seems to have dropped by a about $300 in my area as well, sneaking it right into the 90+ RWG range. Looks like Lexus just earned itself a car on my Round-Up this month! Couple of things to note, remaining 2011 models are getting some marketing cash assistance, so if you manage to find one, have the dealer work out numbers for that car too. Also, special financing IS available on the 2012 and the interest rate is LOW. Go to Edmund’s incentive page and you will see what I mean. 2012 IS250 is getting 0.9% for 60 months. That’s really good.

2011-12 BMW Lease Rates – December 2011

27-month leases on the BMW 3-Series are available and they VERY GOOD! If you can stomach having to pay a full years registration to drive the car for only 3-months, this might be the best option if you want low monthly payments. This doesn’t come to me as a surprise since the 2011 production is either winding down or effectively over. Be sure to go to Edmunds to see what incentives are available. There are lots of rebates and dealer marketing cash available on select models. Those of you looking for a diesel, keep in mind the ECO credit, which cuts costs substantially.
