My Take: Earlier (on the Cayenne post) I recommended this over a Porsche (the world is gonna end!). I do want to point out that it was ONLY from a financial stand point. Porsche’s are like hot women, you only kick them out of bead for the right reasons. The Cayenne’s MF only a tad higher than the Escalade’s, but the residual is over 6% lower in every term. That’s a lot of pocket change right there! The downside is that these Escalades are 2WD and the Cayenna comes in AWD, but that only matters if you live in cities with extreme weather conditions.

My Take: I wouldn’t lease a Cayenne this month. Not only are the money factors unattractive (.00260 across the board), the residual is really low, making this a pretty expensive lease considering it’s price tag. A better option could be the X5, or better yet, the Escalade and the Land Rover seem to lease for significantly less. (OMG!!! I recommended a GM and Ford over a Porsche and BMW!!!!)

My Take: The MF fairly reasonable for the month of July and the residual is still strong (60% for 12k yearly miles). Is a fantastic deal like Honda commercials claim it is? Not really, but they can find your lost beagle, shuck you some oysters and what not, that WOULD BE a great deal.

My Take: The MF is not too bad, but it seems to be the Infiniti EX35 is a better deal right now. The RX350 has been one of the most popular crossovers (if not the most) for quite some time. It’s magnificently egg-shaped styling allows plenty of cargo space and luxury that is unparalleled. With that said, I don’t think I’d ever get one, not very fond of it the “egg-shaped” styling even though it’s functional.

My Take: The 24mo and 36mo leases on the RWD Base and Journey are looking rather tasty this month with an ultra low MF and fairly high residual. If you are in So Cal and are able to get a sale price of a few thousand dollars under invoice (EX35 Journey + Premium RWD), then you should be looking at a sub-$400 a month lease with just inception fees. (Unfortunately, most of the cash incentives is available for purchases only, see update for more details)

UPDATE! Looks like you can get the EX35 for around $7000 off MSRP. Couple of catches…it’s for purchases, not leasing. It also doesn’t stack with special financing. The good news is that the you should still be able to get under invoice on the EX35 if you chose to lease, but your payments will probably jump to the mid-400s.

My Take: GM is OFFICIALLY run by morons. They introduce the “72-hour sale” last month and they don’t include two of the more “popular” Saabs in their line up. Then they top it off by raising the MF from June. Haahaa. I wonder what they’ll do in August…lower the residual and bump up the MF some more?

July 2008 Lease Rate for 08 Cadillac CTS

2008 Cadillac CTS
24 Month – Residual 69% of MSRP – .00254 Base Rate
36 Month – Residual 59% of MSRP – .00254 Base Rate

My Take: If the MF wasn’t so high on the CTS, I would have probably leased one instead of my G37. GM typically doesn’t introduce low MFs for leases unless they have having difficulty moving those cars. That isn’t the case with the CTS so you may be better off buying the car since GMAC is offering low apr financing on the CTS. (0% for 36mo, 2.9% for 48mo, 3.9% for 60mo).
