September 2008 Lease Rate for 08 Lexus IS250

My Take: The numbers are up a bit from last month due to the drop in residual. The AWD model takes a 2% hit at 24 months and 3% hit at 36 months. The lease rates of .0008 that were post last month were actually lower from what I’ve seen around the web (.00055). Unfortunately, this month, they are up. So the lease got a bit expensive compared to last month. No word on the RWD model yet, but I will update this post if I come cross them.

September 2008 Lease Rate for 08 Lexus IS 350

My Take: The IS350’s lease rate is quite low this month. Compared to July, the residual only dropped 1%, while the MF dropped from .00245 to .00090. A pretty good deal if you ask me. Are there better alternatives? Certainly, but if you are fixated on an IS350, this isn’t a bad month to take one home. TMV suggests $37,557, about $1300 over invoice. I suspect you can do better.

September 2008 Lease Rate for 08 Infiniti G37

My Take: Before we get into the numbers, I’d like to apologize for disappearing these past few days without notice. Had a family medical emergency late Monday, so I had to pack my things and skip town last minute. Things are okay now and I just got back tonight, so I should be able to resume with the site updates and email questions. Thanks for your patience.

Anyway, I did find some rates, so I will be posting them in the coming days, so please bare with me here. First of all, the numbers for G37 look BAD this month. I wouldn’t consider leasing the 08 models at all this year. Your better bet would be to wait for the 09s or just buy/finance an 08 model with their low 0.9% APR for up to 60 months. That results in a much better deal. If you are curious as to what APR a money factor of .00215 is, just multiply the MF by 2400 and that should tell you what kind of APR you are paying for. Not a good deal now, is it?

I’m not going to bother with the estimates since I’m recommending that you don’t lease this car. Buy or wait for the 09s instead, that’s money better spent. If you are still considering a lease of the 08 model, then leave a comment and I will crunch some numbers for you.

September 2008 Lease Rates for 09 Audi A4

My Take: Yup, it’s here. The highly anticipated 2009 Audi A4 lease rates are out, and they actually look pretty solid. This is surprising since leasing is supposed to be “bad” in this economy. I personally find it hard to believe that automakers will do away with leasing completely, or make it so unattractive to dissuade us from leasing altogether. I suspect that it all depends on the term and the car being leased.

Add 1% to the residual if you purchase the AudiCare package. That will add $650 more to you sale price, but the increased residual will save you money overall.

36mo Payment: $491 at invoice, $568 at MSRP

Be very careful here. If you pick the prestige package, that’s a whole different car with lower residuals and MF. This is just for the premium package. If you haven’t noticed, there isn’t a FWD version of the A4 sedan anymore. Which explain the bump of around $3k on the base price tag. TMV Suggest a sale price of $37,354, which is practically nothing. I’m not surprised. This car is redesigned after all. Still a bit expensive for my taste if you ask me. I would probably look at the 09 C300, I hear that $1000 below invoice is not unheard of.

36mo Payment: $536 at invoice, $623 at MSRP

This one is one is for you Dianne. ^_^ The numbers look pretty good for the A4 Cabrio. So I would recommend it if you are looking for a Convertible. The numbers are certainly better looking than the 3-series right now. With very limited convertibles in the entry-level luxury segment, this one is certianly worth checking out. Who knows, Audi just might not jerk you around like BMW normally does.

Rest of the A4 line up
Numbers look pretty decent, but there is room to go lower. Don’t expect crazy sub $400 a month deals any time soon (ever?). I think as the residuals drop, Audi will adjust the MF to keep the payments around the same ballpark.

September 2008 Lease Rates for 08 BMW X5, Z4, 7-Series, 6-Series & X6

My Take: I started to notice a trend here with BMW leases this month. The massive drop in residual has made 24mo leases a really bad deal. On the flip-side, 36mo residuals remained the same and are rewarded with a new lower MF, making these leases CHEAPER than last month. VERY good time to jump into a X5 if that’s what you are looking to lease. I know that with gas prices at these levels, these SUVs aren’t exactly flying off the shelves. Nevertheless, some families do need the space, so now is not a bad the time. Better to lease one of these than to own them if you ask me.

36mo Payment: $819 at invoice, $970 at MSRP

If you haven’t noticed, this month you can get a 4.8i at 36 months for about $11 more than leasing a 3.0si last month. For those who waited, I say WOO HOO! I would most definitely pony up $11 more a month to be in a 4.8i than on the 3.0si. That’s $11 more a month to drive in a car that’s has over $7000 more in upgrades. NICE! That’s $396 more over 3 yrs for those who like numbers.

Rest of the BMW line up:
I didn’t notice anything exceptional. I mean most people aren’t shopping for 7-series since the payments are more than some people’s mortgage.  Don’t worry, I will still assist with payment calculations, just leave me comment or send me an email.

September 2008 Lease Rate for 08 BMW X3

My Take: The numbers for the X3 for September are promising. The 24 month lease is less than $10 more per month, which you can offset by switching from a 15k to 12k miles year. Here is the good news, the 36 month lease retains last month’s residual and receives this month’s lower MF, making it a CHEAPER lease than last month. If you are shopping for a X3, you are in luck!

September 2008 Lease Rate for 08 BMW 1-Series

My Take: Not a good time lease a 1-series. The residual values have dropped and MF has stayed the same this month. I don’t need make payment estimates for you on this car. September 2008 Lease Rates for 08 BMW 5-Series

My Take: Couple of thinks to note about the 5-series is that the September residuals and MF are exactly the same as August on the 36 month leases. There is only one exception to that, the 535xi’s MF was bumped to .00200 from .00160, certainly not bad if you are looking to lease for 36 months. The 24 month leases got VERY expensive this month. We’re talking about a 4% drop in residual, which translates to about $80 per month more than August.
