09 Audi A6 Lease Rates for February 2009

My Take: Keep away from the 3.2 Prestige model and the Avants if you plan on leasing a A6. The residuals are bad and the money factors are bad. Overall, the residuals are quite poor on the A6, but the money factors are low, so they are worth a look if you ask me. Current Audi customers get the added bonus of $3000 loyalty cash between now and 3-3-09, so that should help bring things down a notch. Unfortunately for Audi, I think the 5-series is the better deal this month, even with a $3000 loyalty cash, the A6 3.0 Quattro Premium will cost you more than a 535i. The only difference between the two of course, is the AWD.

09 BMW 5-Series Lease Rates for February 2009

My Take: Me likey BMW 5-series leases this month. Me also likey special financing of 2.9% for up to 60 months. Me likey the lookey of 5-series. Haahaa. The 535i has a “special lease” program this month for $599 a month for 36 month/10k miles a year, $5424 due at signing ($54,125 MSRP, Auto + Premium). What kind of special is that? Drop $5425 up front? No thanks, I’d rather cut my own deal. Here’s what I’d push for:

Term: 36-month
Miles: 12k miles a year
MSRP: 54,125
Sale: 49,835 (invoice)
MF: .00145
Residual:60%
Monthly: $588 + tax
Due: Inception fees (1st month, dmv, tire, doc fee, acquisition, MAYBE security deposit) of around $2000 or less.

Same car, more miles, less up front, less per month.

09 VW Tiguan Lease Rates for February 2009

My Take: The “special” financing rates for the Tiguan aren’t really that special to be honest with you (5.9% for 60 months). Leasing might be the better alternative for this month since the money factor (3.1%) is lower than the lowest loan APR available (3.9%). There is a $1000 rebate from the mfg direct to the customers and another $500 in loyalty cash. Both of them available for leasing, so be sure to take that into consideration when you do your negotiations. The residual value is a bit low, but I think the cash does a good job offsetting that. Remember that non-luxury brand’s warranties usually go up to 36 months (with a few exceptions of course), so don’t lease past that term.

DO NOT LEASE 09 Nissan 370Z Lease Rates for February 2009

MY TAKE: As much as I love this car, I can’t find myself recommending it as a lease. Just look at the money factor! Insane! I consider money factors above .00250 to be really high as is, but 0.00335??? No Way, Jose! Leasecompare’s lowest money factor this month is .00301, which is slight lower than Nissan’s. I’m not too sure what their residual value is since they don’t post them anymore. I took the liberty to take out lease rates that go beyond 36 months on this post. Nissan’s warranty only covers you for up to 36-months, so I don’t recommend leasing a car past it’s warranty period. I did it once, never again. One of the scariest leasing experiences ever!!!

09 Infiniti FX/EX Lease Rates for February 2009

My Take: There is $3000 Marketing Cash available for the FX and another $2000 loyalty cash. Of course, you can’t combine that with the special financing that’s available (1.9% 36 months, 2.9% 48 months, 3.9% 60 months). Remember the amount of marketing cash you get is usually distributed at dealer’s discretion, but you can qualify for the entire loyalty cash if you qualify. Generally, most dealers will not give you the entire $3000 unless you are paying cash for the car. Just imagine if you qualify for both and are paying cash! You are guarantee at least $5000 off just from the manufacturer alone! The EX is still on the 2008 model year, so you can see why the residuals are so low. The money factor is practically nonexistant so I would certainly jump on this lease. Heck, you might even consider leasing this car even if you plan on buying the car. There is $5000 marketing cash here and another $500 sell down cash (compatible with special financing, 0.9% for 72 months) for both purchases and leases. Another thing you may want to consider is leasing for 48 months. The payments on some of the models are lower than the 36-month and your car will still be under warranty. The only thing you need to watch out for are the wear-n-tear costs. Because your lease runs longer, more stuff may need to be replaced.

09 Lexus IS Lease Rates for February 2009

My Take: Question for the masses…Would you rather have an IS350 for $557 (assuming a $1000 under invoice sale price) a month for 48 months? OR would you rather have a C350 for $462 per month (assuming a $1000 under invoice sale price), also for 48 months? If your answer is C350, click here. Otherwise, if you want to go with the lower end IS250, this is not a bad car to lease right now. $400-ish will get you a IS250 that’s well equipped, just pay your inception fees upfront and you got it. OR you can always go with the Acura TSX which will probably come better equipped, for less.

09 MINI Cooper Lease Rates for February 2009

My Take: MINI Cooper, how I love thee! This is one ride I hope keeps leasing well forever. This is probably the one and only ride that keeps its value so well, any money factor still makes this ride a good deal. The residual dropped .0001 from last month. Not astronomical, but it only makes the lease cheaper. So if you leased the MINI last month, don’t feel bad, it isn’t that much different this month, just about 20 bucks on a 36-month lease. Remember to watch out for your addon options. Get too carried away and you’ll be paying more than $400 a month for one these puppies.
