Factor in the security deposit waiver, this month’s numbers look and the Q5 and Q7 aren’t look all that great right now. logo_audi My Take: As expected, nothing really changed here as well, except the 48-month lease being slightly less that before. Please make sure to deal with a dealer that will disclose the lease rates because these things are essential in order to negotiate a fair price and payment. There are simply way too many factors in the lease formula, so you need to make sure to you cross-check those numbers. Even if you negotiate a sweet selling price, you could easily give up all those savings by getting suck with a crappy money factor or too many fees. Remember that dealer can and will sometimes pad the money factor or tack on extra fees to offset the lower selling price. Be on the look out for those things and always err on the side of caution.

2010 Audi Q5, Q7 Lease Rates – November 2009

logo_audi My Take: Q5 and Q7 numbers got worse overall, but not by much. AFS didn’t lower the MF enough to compensate for the drop in residual value; therefore, you will probably pay a few bucks more this month compared to last. I’m not seeing any cash on the Q5 or the Q7, but the usual 2.9% and 3.9% APR loans for purchasing are available. If I where shopping for a Q5 right now, I would probably go with the Q5 Premium Plus, 36-month, 12k miles per year, AudiCare (to add 1% to residual). That would put me at 50% residual @ 0.00105 or 2.52% APR. Not bad, cheaper than most auto loans rought now. I don’t think MSDs would be necessary, but an aggressive sale price will be in order to keep things low. Close or at invoice is what I would aim for since Audi does not have holdbacks and there is no dealer/customer cash anywhere in sight. As for the Q7. I would personally go with the TDI Premium Plus on the following terms: 36-month, 12k miles per year, AudiCare. In addition, I would drop some multiple security deposits to bring down the MF further. Q7s are thristy trucks, so opting for the TDI would be wiser in my opinion. If you don’t care about the fancy bells and whistles on the Premium Plus, you can also opt for the Premium which will boost your residual 3% and lower your payments significantly.

logo_audi My Take: The Q5 numbers look unchanged from September while the Q7’s money factors dropped a tad. The residual values stayed the same, which means that the payments on the Q7 has dropped slightly compared to last month. If you were waiting to get into a Q7, it might not be a bad idea to do so this month.

logo_audi Update: I’ve updated the Q5 numbers and I have thrown in the Q7 numbers in here as well. Enjoy. My Take: After posting the info on the Caddy SRX, I realized the Q5 lease rates is that much better. So if you were looking at the SRX before, you might want to check out the Q5. The GLK is a no-no this month (again) and the X3 hasn’t been a good lease for much of this year. I’m sure Audi is trying to clearance the remaining 2009 inventory right now, be sure to look at those as well.

09 Audi Q5, Q7 Lease Rates – August 2009

logo_audi My Take: Apparently, June was the best month to lease the Q5 and the Q7. The money factors and residual for July and August (July and August are the same) are significantly worse than June’s which a big bummer since I was hoping that they would throw in the some cash or something in order to make room for the 2010 models. The financing on the Q5 isn’t all that great either, 4.9% for 60 months. There is $1000 loyalty cash, but I highly doubt a lot of you qualify for that. Financing for the Q7 is 2.9% for 60 months, but there aren’t any cash rebates of any kind, even for current Audi customers. Things look rather stagnant over at Audi these last few months so a big “BOOO!” to AFS for having sucky leases and incentives.

09 Audi A3, A6, Q5 Lease Rates – July 2009

logo_audi My Take: I am addressing three solid Audi leases on this post. First, is the A3, which is sporting a pretty low money factor and decent residual. I recommend the A3 2.0T Premium Quattro. Audi is reknown for their Quattro system, so you just gotta have it, even if you don’t think you need. Just stay away from the 3.2 S-Line and you’ll be fine. There aren’t any major incentives right now other than the $1000 in loyalty cash for the A3. Moving on to the A6, I’m not a fan of this since I prefer the 5-series and the E-Class in terms of styling. Despite that, I cannot over look the super low money factors on the ~~3.2~~ 3.0 models. This is Audi’s way of telling you to borrow money from them for next to nothing. A6’s are notorious for big discounts too, so do your best to dip below invoice. Lastly, the Q5 is looking pretty decent so they are certainly worth a look as well. Check out these three vehicles on The List to get a feel for their monthly payment ranges. I’m not going to go out on a limb to say these guys are “must-haves”, because they are not. They just seem like better-than-usual deals, specially for an Audi.

logo_audi My Take: The Q5 and Q7 have really low money factors this month, so be sure to take advantage of that if you plan to lease the car and buy it off at lease end. I wouldn’t call this the “Deal of the Month” when it comes to SUVs, but it isn’t half bad since the interest rate is low. When it comes to leasing, I’d rather pay a lower interest rate than residual because it makes buying the car out at lease end a possibility, specially if you go over your miles. If you get a car that has inflated residuals, you will end up overpaying for that car, should you decide to buy out your lease.
