My Take: There is around $3000 dealer cash available on the FX35 this month, so factor that into your negotiations. The rates are practically unchanged, so it isn’t any better than last months. Now, couple of things for you California residents. Our sales tax goes up April as I mentioned in a previous post, but our car registrations will ALSO go up (double) beginning May 19th. To top things off, we’re rasing our gasoline tax by another 12 cents. So yeah, think long and hard as to what car and when you plan to lease your next ride. We’re talking hundreds of dollars in savings if you pick the right one.

My Take: Good New! The TSX payments dropped a little due to the lower money factor. Also, don’t forget the $750 dealer cash available on this car. The TL also got a money factor reduction, but also get dinged on the residual (1-2% on the 36+ month terms). Basically the 24-month lease got cheaper, but the 36-month ones are a few dollars more. Nothing astronomical, but worth noting. You do get $1000 dealer cash on the TL, so be sure to factor that into your negotiations.
My Take: No real incentives here on the A6, so you’ll have to rely on your might negotiation skills to get the deal you want. In my opinion, the A6 is more of a “lease to buy” candidate due to the low residual/low money factor combination. As I mentioned in the CL/CLK/CLS post, when most of your payments go towards the depreciation of a vehicle instead of the interest, you probably want to consider buying the car out at the end of your lease. You don’t have to, but it’s just a suggestion if you would like a “break” from lease payments.
My Take: The 5-series lease rates are pretty good this month. Even the M5, which is normally increadibly expensive to lease, has a reasonable residual value and money factor. Now for fun, I added base estimates of the M5. Keep a couple things in mind, I didn’t include the $5000 dealer cash that’s available on the M5 in my calculations. Just keep that in mind during your negotiations. If that’s too expensive (it is double the price of a 535i after all), you can always go down to the 528i. In my opinion, the 2.8i is adequate on the 3-series since its smaller, on the 5-series however, I feel that it is a bit underpowered. I know the payments look ultra-ridiculous on the M5 right now, but assuming invoice + the dealer cash, 12k miles for 36 months, you may be looking at $962 monthly payments + tax and inception fees.
My Take: Bummer. The Cooper S went up nearly $30 bucks a month (around $1000 over the life of the lease). March isn’t exactly shaping out to be better than February when it comes to leasing. The Cooper is still a fairly affordable lease despite that increase. Just remember, no 48-month lease and watch out for the options. If it were up to me, I would simply order one. In most cases, dealers will let you lock in the March rates and still give you the option to get the new lease rate (for the delivery month) once the car arrives. So in case the lease rates drop, you could end up with a cheaper lease. If not, you can always go back to the March rates.
My Take: ALRIGHT! THIS IS THE MONTH FOR ALL YOU MERCEDEZ BENZ FANS!! Dang it!! I wanna trade in my G37 now!!! Anyway, here’s the deal! You want to stick with the 48-month because the 24 and 36 month leases have major residual drops. However, the 48-month lease’s residual stays intact! To make things better, the money factor drops, so that means that the payments will drop as well. Ain’t that sweet? Hahaha. I think so.
