09 Mercedes Benz CLK, CLS, CL Lease Rates – June 2009

logo_benz My Take: For those wanting a coupe, the CLK will be discontinued in favor of the E-Class sedan and coupe. Right now, it’s a VERY good time to get into a CLK350 or CLK550. The money factor is practically non-existent so all your payments are going straight towards the car’s value and taxes. Remember DrJ and Getpaid? They both got CLKs and they got real sweet deals. Check out April’s comments from DrJ to get an idea about the pricing on the CLKs. Unofficially, I can tell you this…my estimates are $716 per month at invoice, over 48 months/15k per year. There is $6000 dealer cash on this ride…$27 per month = per $1000 borrowed. That’s $162 per month off if you do the math, more if you tack on taxes.

I’m not going to comment too much on the CLS and CL. Suffice to say, the CL is not worth talking about and the CLS550 is actually a decent lease, not great, but acceptable.

logo_benz My Take: Who wants a C350? You DO! Forget the C300s, there is $2000 marketing cash on the C350s until 6/30 and the money factor/residuals are STILL the same. I was hammering about in February, and like a broken record, I will tell you again…GET THE C350! To encourage you to get into the C350, I will refuse to answer any C300 questions for the remainder of the month! If you are in So Cal, hit up Aaron over at Dealerplace and tell him you want the car at $2000 under invoice. That’s it. Expect to pay around $2k at drive-off and your payments should be under $500 if stick to 36/48 months. Just read the comments in the forums or in last month’s C-Class post to get an idea as to what others have found. Now, if only they would drop the MF on the C63, that would make me REALLY happy.

logo_bmw My Take: The 2009 6-Series is looking like the better lease right now. Money factors are slightly lower, residuals are the same. I’m guessing sale price will be lower on the 09, so that should save you some additional cash. There’s $3000 customer cash and 0.9% financing on the 2009. logo_bmw My Take: Alright everyone, here’s the deal on the 5-series. If you plan to lease, go with the 2010 models. The residual stayed the same as May and the money factors have dropped, making it a MUCH better lease than last month. As for the 2009 models, buy them (since you should be able to get good discount on them) because residuals have dropped significantly and money factors have gone up. BMWFS is clearly telling you to go for the 2010 models over the 2009 if you plan on leasing, so make sure to do that or you will overpay. 3.9% financing is also available on the 2010 models, so that’s definitely not a bad thing. logo_bmw My Take: 1-Series lease rates are unchanged from May. There is $750 lease cash to customers and 2.9% financing should you choose to buy it. Remember, BMWs have no holdback, so from a sale price standpoint, they can’t/won’t dip as low as some other brands.

logo_bmw My Take: 3-Series lease rates stayed relatively the same as last month. The only difference I am seeing is the 335i and 335xi getting a .0001 bump on the money factor. Here’s good news, there is $1000 lease cash available to customers, so make sure to factor that into your offer. The 335i is also getting special APR offers of 2.9% so those might be a better buy than a lease. I don’t want to sound like a broken record, but please remember to provide me with the MSRP, Sale Price, Inception Fees, Tax Rate, MF and Residual if you would like me to examine your deal. I’ve been asked numerous times to analyze a deal without those numbers and the truth is I can’t give you an accurate analysis of it without all those numbers. So make sure you get those numbers from your dealer. If they won’t give it, you shouldn’t be doing business with them. It is all about full disclosure folks. Would you buy a house without knowing the interest rest you would be paying? I know I wouldn’t.

logo_acura My Take: The money factor is starting to drop on the TSX now so keep an eye out this June to see how they may look. If I don’t have them when you need them, check with your dealer. I haven’t had any problems with Acura dealers bumping the MF, so I wouldn’t be too worried about that. The key thing to look for is a MF drop and a steady residual. Keep your eyes peeled.
