2010 BMW 5-Series Lease Rates – August 2009

logo_bmwMy Take: 5-series and M5 lease rates remain unchanged for August, which is pretty good still. I believe the 5-series does qualify for this “pulling ahead” program BMW is doing. I think it is similar to all the lease cash the 3-series is getting right now. If any of you are interested, I’ll ask Dave for more info. I checked on Edmunds and they have the standard “advertised” lease program you see on TV and BMWUSA.

09 Mercedes Benz CLK Lease Rates – August 2009

logo_benzMy Take: This is the last 4-seat convertible you will see from MB for probably a year. The E-Class should be coming out with a convertible sometime next year or early 2011 as a replacement (and a wagon too). If you can’t wait until then, you may want to get in on what’s left of the CLK350 and CLK550 convertibles. They are still have a decent money factor and residual value, so they are worth looking into.

2010 Mercedes Benz ML Lease Rates – August 2009

logo_benzUPDATE: PURCHASE CASH for MLs is $3000. My Take: B and I were discussion how MB comes up with their lease rates yesterday. The conclusion? We have no idea. Just look how the ML350 24-month money factor, how arbitrary is that? Since when did MB start making 24-lease rates looks semi-attractive? I’ve always pegged them as more of a 36,39,48 month lease type of car. Anyway, the residual values still stink on the 24-month terms anyway, so it’s not like it really matters. Overall, 2010 MLs are not recommended unless you plan to buy them. MBFS 3.9% financing is available for up to 66 months and 2.9% financing for 66 months on the 2009 model.

2010 Mercedes Benz GL, GLK Lease Rates – August 2009

logo_benzMy Take: Bummer, almost a year later and the GLK is still a bad lease. I’m giving them until 2011 to improve things, that’s when my G37 lease is up. LOL. In other news, GL450 seems to be pretty decent if you ask me. Residual still fairly high and the money factor is pretty decent, a fairly low 3.24% APR. They are also running a special right now on the 2010 GL450 where the dealer contribution is about $2,325. I’m not seeing any rates on the 2009 models, but there is $10,000 in cash you can use on leases or purchases right now. Looks like MB’s attempt to clearance some of the outgoing models. Worth a looking into if you ask me.

09 BMW 3-Series Lease Rates – August 2009

logo_bmwUPDATE: $2500 lease cash for 335i, $2000 lease cash for 328i. Special thanks to Smitty for gathering the info. Also, per Dave’s email: “In California, it’s $2,000 lease cash. BMW might offer differently in other states that I wouldn’t know about. Auto transmission credits are still in place through the end of this month.” Dave sent me another email today after double checking the bank sheets; here in CA, the lease cash is $2500 for the 335i and $2000 for the 328i, just like Smitty mentioned. Looks like that isn’t the case up in MA according to Jake. It also looks like MikeO is having problems getting the $2500 on the 335i as well.

My Take: I had a little R&R yesterday, so I apologize if I didn’t get to your emails and questions until today. Had a bday to attend, then had to chores around the house, so overall, busy weekend. Anyway I got a lot of good news for you regarding BMW 3-series, courtesy of Dave Persaud of Long Beach BMW. The lease cash on the 3-series and 5-series got bumped to $2000, instead of $1000. If you have a clunker, you can get $3500 towards either a 1, 3, or X3. So about $5500 right there, which excludes any discounts the dealer gives you. Just remember that the car you get has to have at least 22mpg combined mileage or more. The most noticeable change I’m seeing this month is the MF drop on the 335xi coupe (down from 0.00165 to .00145). The rest is pretty much the same as last month, I think. If you shopping for a car right now and don’t jumping on the 3-series right now, I don’t know what to tell you other than DO IT NOW! Dave’s been giving out REALLY low prices for both leases and purchases, so you really can’t go wrong with a 3 this month.

09 BMW X-Series Lease Rates – August 2009

logo_bmwMy Take: The X3, X5 and X6 lease rates remain unchanged from last month. This means that the X5 and X6 are still pretty good leases right now. A little side note on the X3…the numbers may look pretty bad, but this model does qualify for about $3500 in the “Cash for Clunkers” program, so be sure to look into it if you have a clunker to trade in. The $1750 lease cash is still available on the X5 and X6 this month.

09 BMW 1-Series Lease Rates – August 2009

logo_bmwMy Take: Lease rates for the 1-series remain unchanged from July. The good news is that there is $750 lease cash available on the 128i and the 135i, so that should drop the monthly payments down significantly. Don’t forget the MSDs! That should save you a good chunk of change in the long run. Should you choose to buy instead, the 2.9% for 60 months financing is still available.

2010 Mercedes Benz E-Class Lease Rates – August 2009

logo_benzMy Take: Waiting for the E-Class numbers to drop? Keep on waiting. They look practically the same as last month, with the exception of the 24-month terms MF going up a bit. But who cares really, MBs aren’t meant to be leased on short terms anyway. Since its a month older, you might have better luck lowering the sale price. What I would suggest doing right now is to do your initial inquires for the next couple weeks, then wait until the last few days of the month to really push on your negotiations. Best of luck to you, this is a fine car so it’s worth all the effort.
