2010 Infiniti G37 Lease Rates – February 2010

logo_infinitiUpdate: My apologies, but I only manage to get the convertible numbers for the 2009 model (36-months 15k miles | residual 58% | MF 0.00217). Hope this helps in any way. Moving on to the G37 sedan I discussed in my original Take this month. I actually got some info on that…The $500 Retail Captive Dealer Cash is NOT available for leases, so you cannot factor that one into your calculations. My official offer was $30,388, which is about $1200 below invoice. This means $1000 loyalty and $200 below invoice price. Not bad at all. If you pay all fees up front, the monthly payments come out to $336 per month plus tax (this gets a 0.99 rating on my calculator, which is awesome!). This is for a BASE G37 sedan. Availability is VERY limited on these sedans since most folks opt for the Journey trim. But if you are budget conscious but want a luxury ride, this is a good deal. Expect inception fees to be around $1500. If you are in Southern California and this peaks your interest, contact David Baker. I think he has a white one with stone interior left, three silver and one brown one coming in by next month. If you aren’t an existing IFS customer, your price will be $1000 higher, which would put you at $365 plus tax with inception due at signing (still an excellent deal with a 1.07 rating in my calculator).

My Take: I’m pretty impressed with the current numbers on the G37. The residual values are strong and the money factors are quite moderate, sitting at around 3.72% APR. The best part about this is that if you are an existing Infiniti customer, you have access to $1000 in loyalty cash which can be used with leasing. There is also $500 Retail Captive Dealer Cash which can be used on the sedan. Unfortunately, I haven’t confirmed whether this can be used in leasing or not (I am inclined to say no on that one).

Here’s a quick little scenerio for you. Lets take a base model G37 sedan at a MSRP of $34115 with an invoice of $31,592. Apply the $1000 loyalty cash and you get a sale price of $30,592. Using that as the sale price and the lease rates below, you would be looking at a $339 per month payment plus tax, with inception due at singing. Now, assuming that we can actually use the $500 Retail Captive Dealer Cash, you would be looking at a monthly payment of around $325 per month plus tax. This is cheap for a base model luxury car. This ALMOST falls within my wife’s target of $370 (with tax and only inceptions due at singing) per month. Unfortunately, with poor MPG, a 50-mile per day commute and premium gas, the G37 sedan just won’t do it for her.

2010 Audi TT Lease Rates – February 2010

logo_audiMy Take: For the most part, the money factor is OKAY. The residual is a bit low which makes this car a bit hard to lease. I haven’t gotten excited about the TT ever (at least from what I remember). This very much a “niche” car, so you probably won’t find good rates on them for a long long time.

2010 Nissan Altima, Maxima Lease Rates – February 2010

logo_nissanMy Take: As I write this, I am gearing up to visit my local Nissan dealer today. My wife and I will be checking out the Altima and the Maxima today to see if there’s anything promising. Here are the “over the phone” numbers I got Thursday. The Maxima does have $500 loyalty cash and $2000 cash to customer, but the $2k cannot be used on a lease. I also was told that when using VPP quotes, you cannot take advantage of the rebates. Not sure how much truth there is in that but we’ll see. Just remember one thing…any unclaimed rebate or cash, goes to the dealer, so if you don’t do your homework right, you will lose out on a lot of money.

2010 VW Jetta, Tiguan, Passat, CC Lease Rates – February 2010

logo_vw

Update: Had a chance to visit the VW dealer today. Didn’t get much in terms of numbers since we were doing test drives. But I did manage some numbers on the CC Luxury, which was the only thing they had for CCs. I also dropped in the Tiguan Wolfsburg for those who need it. Jetta TDIs are not going to be in production this year, instead, only the Cup Edition will be available. Wife really liked the Jetta Wolfsburg and I can’t really disagree. 2.0T engine, media center, leather interior, moon roof, allow wheels, all under a MSRP of 25,000. Can’t complain there. One issue I have right now is that I am noticing dealer trying to force “dealer addons” onto the cars to make extra profit. The local Subby and VW dealer was adding security window etching for an extra $995, which provides you with “coverage” should your car is stolen. I got one word for that, “LAME”. There is no way in hell I’d spend nearly $1k for that.

My Take: I spent a lot of time today hitting the phones in order to get some numbers and I managed a few. The Tiguan is a very strong lease right now, with a $308 plus tax per month payment with inception due at signing. The assumption is that the MSRP is $26k and the sale price is invoice or around $24.6k. Sure, its not fully loaded, but it’s a cheap lease if you don’t mind me saying. There’s a possibility that the lease rates are going to change March, so keep that in mind. Now there’s a issue with availability around these parts, specially regarding the Jetta TDI and the CC Sport. I will call around other deals and provide you with an update at a later date.

2010 Audi A3, A6, S6 Lease Rates – February 2010

logo_audiMy Take: A3 2.0T Premium is looking REALLY good with an ultra-low money factor. There’s practically only a few bucks of interest (if that) per month. The TDI is lot higher, which isn’t surprising. What IS surprising is that the residual isn’t that much higher than the 2.0T model, which I find odd. Rest assured it will be pricey to lease the TDI so I recommend skipping it. The A6 sedan has very attractive money factors as well, but they have always suffered from low residuals, not exactly recommended. Of course you could look into the whole “Lease To Buy” technique since the financing APR isn’t as good as the MF here. Just remember there will be a lumpsum that would either need to be refinanced or paid in full at lease end.

2010 Mercedes G, GL, GLK, ML Lease Rates – February 2010

logo_benzMy Take: Looks like the G, GL and GLK went back to sucking. The only “bright” spot would be the ML350, which has a decent residual and a decent money factor. Despite this, check in with your local Benz dealer and see how much of a discount they are willing to give you. This should at least give you an idea as to what kind pf payment range you would be looking at. As I mentioned in a previous Benz post, VJ says that AMBASSADOR numbers are out AKA Employee Discount, so they might be rolling that out to some customers.

2010 Audi Q5, Q7 Lease Rates – February 2010

logo_audiMy Take: No offense to Audi FS, but last December’s numbers were better. Factor in the security deposit waiver, this month’s numbers look and the Q5 and Q7 aren’t look all that great right now. If you are looking for a diesel and are heart broken about the crummy residuals on the Q7, take a look at ACS’ Top Ten Diesel list.

2010 Audi A4, S4, A5, S5 Lease Rates – February 2010

logo_audiMy Take: Wow, look at the MF on the A4! That’s insane! Just as an example, I’m going to pluck out the A4 Prem Plus Sedan and make work out a payment calculation. $35,825 MSRP, $33,375 invoice. Let us assume that invoice is doable and go with that as the sale price (if you can tap below that, more power to you). This would give us a monthly payment of $441 per month plus tax, with inception due at signing. The A4 Premium sedan’s payments are even better, sitting at $374+tax per month!!! What makes it better (than before) is that the non-quattro models got a 1% increase in residual value compared to last December, so the lease has become cheaper. Of couse, they were waiving the security deposit last year, so your upfront costs were a bit lower then. Still, security deposits are fully refundable, so not a big deal there. The Quattro models did get a drop in residual compared to last December (remember I skipped January so I am not comparing this month with last), but still look fairly attractive. The A5s are also looking good, with a drop in MF and an increase in residual for the 36-month term. The 24-month term did get a drop in residual, but you shouldn’t be looking at 24-month lease terms anymore since they cost a fortunre nowadays. S-trim models get a lower MF as well. It’s official, This is a GOOD TIME to get an Audi.
