logo_caddy My Take: Cadillac’s purchase financing is 0% APR for up to 72 months (for well-qualified buyers), which beats the heck out of any lease program they may have right now. If you are considering a luxury sedan you want to own, the CTS may not be a bad idea. Caddy’s have come a long way and the CTS in particular, it’s in a class of it’s own. Priced like an entry level luxury compact sedan, but it’s more like a mid-sized one.

2010/11 Volvo Lease Rates – July 2010

logo_volvo My Take: These past couple of months, I’ve been getting help with some Volvo lease rates. A big thanks to Rman850r for helping me out with that. I’m quite pleased with the XC60s money factors because they are very attactive (for the 36-month terms). They do jump a bit in the longer 60-month terms, but still much lower than most premium cars and trucks out there. There is a 48 month lease, but from what I understand, the payments jump significantly. The numbers this month still look pretty good. Last month seemed a bit better, specially with the longer 60-month lease, but the 36-month is around the same ballpark. I think Volvo did a good job introducting the maintenance program because it brings the brand up to par (in terms of service) with the likes of BMW or Audi (AudiCare actually costs you money though). The Safe and Sound coverage is 5yrs/60k miles!!! (longer than BMW and Audi) That means if you go with the 60-month lease (at 12k miles per year), you don’t pay a dime for maintenance!

logo_acura My Take: Here’s a mix bag of Acura numbers for you. This is all I have at the moment, so you don’t need to ask for what’s missing. If I find it, it will get updated on this post. There are cash incentives being thrown around on pretty much all the 2010 Acuras. 2011 RDXs are out, so no cash discounts there.

I’ve added some 2010 RDX numbers (if you can find any remaining ones). They don’t look so bad, so I would recommend them as an alternative to the Q5s, X3s, GLKs of the world. Remember that the MF drops to 0.00076 should you go with the “zero drive-off” offer.

2010 Audi Lease Rates – July 2010

logo_audi My Take: Some changes in the Audi lineup this month…The TDI A3s, for example, dropped in residual and went up on the money factor. Not exactly the direction you’d want them to go, but there is loyalty cash still available remaining 2010 A3s. 2011 will be arriving in the Fall, so it’s pretty safe to say that production is wrapping up. As for the rest of the Audi lineup, there are some drops in residual and money factor as well. Some models also got bumps on the MF as well, so pick and choose your car with caution. Check out the incentives page on Edmunds (link at the bottom of this post) to see which models have some lease cash available because with residuals like this, only rebates can make these leases half-decent. Overall, the 2010 model year is winding down, so you will start seeing residuals take a hit through the rest of the year. Use your best judgement when it comes to MFs. If you are looking at a ride that has a MF of 0.00012, chances are, it isn’t going to drop that much more. It may be wise to pull the trigger on it, specially if there are cash incentives available. Otherwise, you could be looking at a lower residual, possibly higher MF and no cash incentive. I would also like to add that “buying” should not be overlooked since there are some decent interest rates available right now (2.9% for 60 months isn’t half bad).

logo_benz My Take: I know you are going to ask me about the 2010 numbers and the only answer I have for you right now is that I don’t have them. Please refer to the June numbers if you are curious. The 2011 numbers are BAD, so leasing a 2010 is probably in your best interest right now since dealers will be more inclined to discount them over the 2011s. I would at least wait until Fall before you begin to see improvements on 2011s numbers.

2011 BMW Lease Rates – July 2010

My Take: The July BMW numbers are out and it looks better than June. There’s been drops in money factor for most models and trims while the residual numbers have carried over from last month. Not a bad time to get into a BMW right now. Just make sure you find the right balance between the sale price, residual and money factor in order to net the monthly payment you can afford. Here’s a sample number crunch for a 2011 BMW 128i with the value package on a 36mo/12k mile lease term. The MSRP is $32850 and the assumed sale price is $31000. Before taxes, you would be looking at approximately $379 per month, with the usual inception fees due at singing (around $1500 bucks). This is about the same amount of money I pay for my 2008 G37. If you need help number crunching, drop a comment with the MSRP, sale price and your local sales tax and I will help you with some estimates.

logo_infiniti My Take: IFS lease rates have changed for the month of July. Residuals have dropped considerably, but money factors have also dropped in order to keep payments at around the same level as last month. Incentives are still available, so be sure to inquire about them. Another “notable” change is that IFS has begun using a 2% bump in residual value when going from 15k to 12k miles per year. In the past, IFS has only used a 1% increase for 15k to 12k terms.

logo_volvo My Take: Not exactly the most attractive lease out there. Actually, it down right sucks. I would recommend looking at something else like a A3, GTI or Mazda3. I’m gonna try to get my hands on the XC60’s numbers this month. I hold some high hopes for that ride. The “ads” have shown it could be a decent lease, but we’ll see about that. Four years of free maintenance really makes leasing a Volvo worry-free.
